Adrien nodded. "No, really... I'll be fine. I'm going to finish my coffee-" she gestured it up a bit as if to toast him. "I needed to step back before I took the plunge anyway."

"Guess you could call our little adventure divine providence. Take it easy, Lars."

[airlock]

"Hey," he said, a huge grin on his face. "I always take it easy. It's what I do best."

He reached over and squeezed her hand gently. "Thanks for listening, Adrien. I don't doubt that I'll see you again soon."

The grin still on his face, although it didn't reach his eyes, Lars left the coffee shop and began heading back to the office to break the news to everyone.
