While Sentinel units three and four were posing for the press, Alpha one and two were in a much different situation. They were primed and ready for deployment, once again suspended in their launch cradles aboard the marine Chinook. The New York cityscape raced past far below as the huge helicopter closed with its destination.
Westchester.
Slightly ahead of the approaching choppper a knot of police cars escorted an unmarked black sedan as it slid through the streets toward the house that Xavier built.
The law closed about the institute like a mailed fist.
With Presidential authority and a warrant signed by Bolivar Trask himself they came. The time had come to take a young man to task. A young man charged with the murder of a federal officer, a husband and a father.
Justice would be done.
The black sedan stopped outside the open gate of the mansion and a pair of black suited men stepped out. Around them, like a swarm of angry hornets the New York state police took up their positions. This was a situation that had the potential to get very, very complicated.
They were comforted by the bulky shape of the Chinook as if thumped into position over the lawn, its Sentinel payload ready to deploy at the first sign of trouble.
The men in black walked in silence down the long drive watched by a hundred officers of the law. The shared a glance as they reached the door and then the one on the right, an individual identified only as Mr. Smith, knocked three times.
The sound in the hall was like a death knell.

Jubilee stood out in the yard with a rude grey guy and a really pale foreign chick. The pale girl had asked her a question, but Jubilee didn't reply; she was looking over Sibyl's shoulder with widening eyes.
"Holy...shit..." she murmured, her tone clearly reflecting an understand that something was very, very wrong. A swarm of police cars and a black van were coming down the drive.
She immediately remembered Stryker's raid on the mansion; as she stood watching, the sound of a chopper grew from the distance. It jolted her to life, and she began to walk briskly toward the door even as two men got out of their car. As they knocked on the door, she walked up the steps.
"Can I help you two gentlemen?" she asked, her voice remarkably smooth and polite despite the fifty sets of eyes she could practically feel staring at her from the other end of fifty handguns.
(ooc: I believe Warren was planning to come as well, but whoever gets to the door first should open it up lol! I'm so anxious!!)

The sound of the helicopter had sent Warren up over the roof curiously - the majority of the air traffic around the Xavier Institue was made up of him and Liam. A quick scan of the grounds revealed a few interesting sights, but the most interesting one was the group of police cars around a single black sedan coming up the drive. What the hell are they doing here?
Warren hadn't been around for Stryker's attack, but he knew that it had come in the night with no police to make it official. As far as he knew, nothing around the Mansion was illegal - there was nothing wrong with taking in stray mutants, unless someone's parents had decided to claim kidnapping or something. He couldn't see this many cops coming for that kind of claim though. And that sleek black car. Another glance at the chopper reminded him that the Sentinels had been dropped from one like it in Baltimore.
Baltimore. The thought grew like an approaching train, and Warren started to feel as if he were standing on the tracks.
"I...killed a Sentinel cop..."
The people dying and screaming and Storm's lightning hitting one of the Sentinels and Logan killing all those people - for the second time, true, but still - and flying around trying to stop that horrible woman, so beautiful but killing for the fun of it. And Bobby's words, echoing in his mind.
"I...killed a Sentinel cop..." "I...killed a Sentinel cop..." "I...killed a Sentinel cop..."
"Shit!"
He turned, swooped back down through his open window, looked at himself to make sure he was presentable, and wandered down to the door.
Three knocks. The sound of a girl's voice.
They probably had a warrant. Not answering the door wouldn't stop them from coming.
Reaching out with one hand to pull the heavy door open, Warren kept his face blank. Granted, he didn't have to deal with the police very often, but he was used to authority figures considered intimidating by most. If anything, his face looked a little bored.
Raising an eyebrow at Jubilee, as if to say 'You should really check before you bring this many friends over,' Warren motioned with his head that she should come inside. He wanted her to stand behind him, wanted to protect her, though her powers would come in much more handy in a conflict. He was hoping that it wouldn't come to that.
"Afternoon." Sticking his hands in the pockets of his dark jeans, Warren's face grew even more bored looking. As if this kind of thing happened every day.
Well, if they were all going to be arrested, at least he looked good.

Mr. Smith looked at the kid in the loud jacket and then at the man with the impressive wing-span. They were in the right place then. Agents Smith and Jones were very aware of the fact that if the inhabitants of the Xavier institute decided to make a fight of this arrest then they would be the ones directly in the line of fire.
"Mr. Worthington," they had seen his file, though not the girl's, "Agent's Smith and Jones," they flashed their identity cards.
"I would recommend you to fetch a member of the faculty on a matter of some urgency."
The police force and helicopter more than underlined the word urgency. They were here to do a job, and the sooner and cleaner they could get it done the better.
The last thing they wanted was a scene.

Jubilee moved around the officers, stepping inside to stand beside Angel--but not behind him. If anything, she was being too bold as she asked with the utmost politeness in her voice, "If you can tell us why you're here, we can make sure that you see the correct person."
Though what she really wanted to do was drop the act and ask them bluntly what they wanted, she knew better than to piss off guys with badges. But she wasn't about to let them any farther into the house, or bring any of the X-Men to them, until she knew if they were planning to raid the place or arrest them or something.

Jubilee was the picture of controlled politeness. Warren was the picture of boredom, though he peered at the badges that they flashed carefully. Obviously a rich kid who's dad had told him what to take note of to tell his lawyers later.
The fact that they knew his name was absolutely unremarkable to Warren - pretty much everyone knew who he was, there weren't too many pharmaceuticals heirs with sixteen foot wingspans.
When Jubilee spoke, he nodded to punctuate the thought. She was smart, not being as blunt as she was so famous for.
"I would recommend that you show us a warrant before you do anything else."
A smart arse frat-boy rich kid, apparently. Obviously the type who had the family lawyer on speed dial. In fact, the bulge of his cell phone could be seen in the pocket of his jeans.
He knew that he was toeing the line, but he also knew that there was nothing illegal about insisting to see the relavent paperwork before letting police officers enter your residence. And until they showed him the relevant paperwork, Warren wasn't going to let them take one step further. They'd have to shoot him, and he knew that they had no legal right to do that - and there were cameras all over the place, so they wouldn't be able to get away with it.

Agent Smith gave the girl an unreadable look through his dark glasses and reached inside his jacket. He produced a sheaf of papers, neatly folded down the middle and proceeded to very deliberately unfold them and hold the front page up for the pair to see.
"We are here to see Robert Drake miss, most kind of you to volunteer to fetch him."
He turned to Angel.
"This is a warrant for his arrest."
The Worthington boy had guts, he'd give him that. The sort of guts gained from a rich father and a lifetime of privilege. Well this wasn't anything to do with him and all the money on Gods green Earth wasn't going to do any good against the might of the law in this case.

Jubilee lost almost all pretense with this information. Her sweet smile dropped, and her chin jutted forward as she gave the agent an insulted and angry look. "His arrest?!?" she repeated disbelievingly. "Arrest for what!?"
No way in hell were they taking Bobby. She was not going to stand for this, and she knew none of the X-Men would either. 'You and your flunkies come in here like you own the place, waving your little papers around like bein' from the government gives you any right...' she thought spitefully as she waited for a response.

"No, it's ok Jubes, go get Bobby, will you?" He knew what this was about.
"I...killed a Sentinel cop..."
He leant in the doorframe, even though they had every right to come in and search for Bobby.
Time to call his lawyer - he didn't know if Bobby had one, but he'd get the best criminal defense in the state if Warren had any say in it.
Pulling out his cell phone, Warren programed in the names and badge details of the two agents just in case he needed them.

Hannah heard the helicopters and came running out of her room. As the halls erupted with talking students and a bit of a rush toward the landing, the littlest student at Xavier's school pushed through their legs until she reached the steps.
She knew better than to say anything and though no one would ever find out, she knew the sound coming from the sky too. Her blue eyes focused through the rungs of the staircase and she sat down, curling her small fingers around them.

Candice had just completed her second circuit of the school, wondering if perhaps Lorna had gotten lost somewhere around the campus. She'd been trying to reach her on her cell phone, but that also proved useless.
Then the parade of law showed up, helicopters and squad cars and MIB gallore! She walked around the perimeter, trying to get to them in time to intercept them, but she was too far away. She got to them right as Warren had taken his phone out.
She... was... furious.
She stomped straight up to the officers, face red with anger, and looked at the warrant in their hands.
"Excuse me Agent Smith -" She said, making a Matrix joke, but not realizing it was actually his name. "Do you mind telling me just why in the heck you made a freakin' PARADE out of whatever it is your doing here!?! If you've got someone to arrest, then show up in a squad car or unmarked car - don't make a fiasco with helicopters and small army. This is a SCHOOL! Show some respectful discretion, for mercy's sake!"
The normally timid woman had NEVER sounded so angry. Bringing an army to a school which had been attacked by an army was so... WRONG.

Jubilee stood for a moment, glaring daggers at the agents, but reluctantly gave in and started to move away to find Bobby. She hesitated, realizing she had no idea where he was, then had an idea and turned back to Warren. Luckily, Candice came into the picture ranting at the agents, which made a nice distraction for what Jubes told Angel.
"I don't know where he is. Call him on your nifty little beeper thing." She gestured to her own neck.

Agent Smith had been about to reply to the pouting girl when Warren intervened, saving him from having to explain the ugly truth. Perhaps Worthington had done a good job with his son after all.
"Your cooperation is appreciated Mr Worthington," he said.
Then an angry, red-faced little woman was yelling at him.
Agent Smith turned his virtually expressionless face to her and waited for the verbal assault to cease.
"We are here to arrest a young man accused of murder miss. Even if he was not a mutant that would warrant a tactical task force, but given the nature of the accused and the fact that he has a virtual army behind him," the agent glanced over his shoulder at the array of law enforcement.
"These men are here for our protection."

Shrugging, Warren ducked inside the door - Candice was taking care of it for the moment, though she seemed like she was about to start spitting at him. And Candice could be pretty impressive when she was spitting at someone.
He tapped on his little x-communicator - a name that always made him think that some guy in a dress and a goofy hat was about to start condemning him to hell - and said Bobby's name quietly.
"Where are you?" After Jubilee's little moment on the communicators the other day, Angel didn't know that he was going to trust her to speak into it.

"A virtual army is not the same as an actual Army, mister."
She said, calming a bit by his calm. It wasn't that she was no longer angry, but she felt shameful at being angry with someone who was calm - it just made you out to look lame.
"And you honestly think we'd kill you if you came to our school with a warrant for the arrest of one of our students? There are the X-Men here, who have saved the world once, and countless lives twice, and there are students and teachers. This is disgusting. You make me sick. In fact, shame on you."
She looked at the other agent.
"And shame on you too. Now... we'll get Robert and we'll figure this out, assuming you're not planning on just beating him with clubs or -" she does finger qoutes, "'accidentally shooting him'. Are you?"

There was an absolute crowd of students in the lobby now, the chaos increasing by the moment. A number of teachers directed them to the common rooms within the building. They were reluctantly moving.
All but Phase.
She'd heard what the man had said, and Miss Candice's response. Her hands squeezed tight to the rungs of the stairway and she didn't move, too small to be noticed amongst the throng of older students.

Bobby, Forge, Paige, and Kitty exited from the elevator, and worked their way over to where Angel and Jubilee were talking.
Bandero could see Candice, easily one of the most beautiful women he'd ever seen, talking to some kind of blatant federal agent. He shuddered at anyone who could work their life into a cliche and not know about it. Still, they pressed forward to the agents.
"Sorry to interrupt you, Candice - but we're here with Bobby. You mind telling us what's going on, Agent Smith?" Forge asked, making the same completely accurate Matrix joke that Candice had made moments earlier.
Of course, Forge knew what was going on - but the agents didn't know that. He figured getting into a parlay with them would by Bobby enough time to actually explain himself, and what had happened. Maybe they wouldn't arrest him - but likely they would. They had a warrant right there in their hands. They were completely within the bounds of the law to do so.

Agent Smith continued to look coolly at Candice, his expression never leaving neutral.
"We in the FBI do not beat people with clubs that we are aware of," he said in a perfectly natural tone, "and we have no intention of shooting anybody. Recent events however have lead us to believe that the X-Men may not always have the countries best interests at heart."
He swiveled to face the arriving Forge and company, including Bobby Drake. Agent Jones pulled a set of cuffs from leather case on his belt.
"Certainly sir, if you will move aside so that we can do our duty I would be more than happy to explain."
Agent Jones was already making to step through the door.
"Robert Drake, you are under arrest for the crime of murder, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney, and to have an attorney present during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you at government expense."

Bobby felt a wrench of guilt in his chest, realizing for the first time that what he'd done would reflect back on the X-Men as a whole, in a terrible light. He wanted to argue, to set straight that first of all, this wasn't something that the X-Men had planned, and that it wasn't the entire X-Men that had killed the guy. And second, that Bobby hadn't really done it, either.
But he never got the chance, because in the next moment, Agent Smith was reading him his rights. He knew them as well as anyone else knew them, from having heard them in history classes and on TV his entire life. But it was entirely different to hear them read to you, sickeningly different.
"Wait, wait--" Bobby took a step back, holding up his hands to try and reason with the Agents. "Look, I didn't murder that pilot. A telepath--a member of The Brotherhood--was in control of what I did!" He knew that his arguing was futile, and he looked at the familiar faces around him for help, especially Forge and Warren.

It seemed like there was no time before Bobby's statement that he was on his way and the appearance of a whole bunch of them at the door. Candice was still ranting about something, and then Forge interrupted her and then all of a sudden they were reading Bobby his rights and advancing with handcuffs and Bobby was protesting.
Even though he knew it had to be true, Warren still couldn't see how it would stand up in court. Was there any way of proving it without a confession from Emma? Seemed unlikely.
"He has an attorney." Warren's voice, quiet yet insistent, floated across the group. Flipping open his phone, he pressed speed dial number 6. Yes, he did actually have his attorney on speed dial. It helped him keep up the spoiled rich frat-boy image.
Moving slightly away from the group, Warren's side of a conversation could be heard.
"Yes, Cameron? We've got a bit of a situation, I'm in need of your services." Cameron Hodge was mutant friendly, thankfully, and an extremely skilled attorney.
