Kitty laughed brokenly as Bobby hugged her tightly. Oh, this was rich. Bobby was about to be carted off to jail and she was crying and he was the one comforting her. Nice going, Pryde.
Distantly, she hoped Paige wouldn't be angry with her. Bobby's girlfriends had a happy habit of hating her guts after a while.
"You're right. You're right. I'll be back in no time. Nothing can keep me away from here."
Nothing but a court order. I bet you can't freeze your way out of a cell. It'll always be the perfect temperature for you in an unheated detention center...
Why could she only think of one-liners at totally inappropriate times?
"Of course we're right," she said instead. "Leggo, I'm fine. I'm totally fine."
She hugged back briefly, as tightly as possible, and then the elevator pinged just as she broke away.
