"You shouldn't joke about such things," Storm said with mock severity, "Teflon was a noble man." But there was a twinkle in her eye to indicate that she was making a rare joke herself.
She smiled at Sam's mild enthusiasm. "I'm glad you think so, Sam. Do you have any things you need to get, or is it just yourself? We have plenty of everything to share if it is."

Oh, wait, she was kidding. Sam snorted and shook her head. That would be a pretty sweet power, though. One would wonder how he died, if he was made of Teflon and all.
Maybe Extremely Acidic Chili Sauce Man ate through him.

"No, I'm pretty well covered," Sam said. She probably could've used a few things, but she'd make do, and they were already putting her up for free. She hated taking things. "I just left my stuff in Cal's room."
Including her laptop. "Do you guys have wireless Internet or should I figure out a jack?"

"Ok, let us know if there is anything we can help you with. You have already met Cal, and she knows her way around if you need assistance." Storm looked over at Cal, who was wriggling very like a puppy now.
"We do have wireless. Also, if you have difficulties with electronics sometimes I can send up Forge to see you - he is a technician who, I'm sure, could fix your lamp and anything else so you will have as few problems as possible. We are used to making things comfortable for all sorts of people here." The corners of Storm's mouth went up pleasantly as she considered the diversity of her home.

[OOC: Sorry to abandon y'all, but there's like a squillion other people who want me, *lol*. Sam, go ahead and tell Storm if she should send Forge up tomorrow to alter the wiring around your room? We can pretend she answered before what I'm about to write, or something ; ).]
"Cal, would you come with me for a moment please?" Storm nodded at Cal, and then gave Sam a final smile. "Please excuse me, Sam, I have a lot to do before bed. I hope you're comfortable here, and welcome again."
She walked down the hallway and picked another key from her chain to open a closet. Rummaging inside, she heaved out a fire extinguisher and gave Cal a wry look. "Would you please bring that down the hall? Just for her first night, I think." Patting the tan girl on the shoulder, Storm turned and strode down the hallway.

Cal picked up the fire extinguisher with very little effort and walked (not trotted, she wasn't THAT strong) back down the hall to Sam's room. She held it out like a peace offering.
"Want me to grab your stuff?"
