"I nearly broke my da… uhh, darn arm leaping that gate."
"For heaven's sake," said Storm to Forge with a smile - the phrase amused her, as she was very familiar indeed with the heavens - "We do not need you losing another limb."
She shook Domino's hand warmly, having quickly put herself back together after the confusion of the past few minutes. The young woman seemed easily distracted, but then again, perhaps she was uncomfortable at being talked about.
Ororo addressed her directly. "You can call me Ororo if codenames don't suit you."
"I'd pick someone else. I doubt my dad'd take the job, though. And I'm hoping it won't be too much of a necessity to have a diffuser at a school, but I suppose you never know..."
"I don't know," Storm replied, looking sly. "There is a reason we thought you would be a good fit. Besides the defusing skills - which" she raised her eyebrows with a little sigh - "we hopefully won't need, but are still very important - I gather you can teach French. Our language department currently only consists of Spanish and German."
Here she looked over at Kurt. He was flicking his tail about as Topher watched it. They seemed to be doing pretty well; Blurt, true to his name, was talking a mile a minute, although she didn't take the time to listen to what he was saying.
She looked back and was arrested by Forge's face, which held a serious expression she had not seen since before Baltimore.
"I think the X-Men should probably have that meeting we need to have sooner rather than later. I’m going to call in all the trainees and X-Men, and we’ll meet in the meeting room in, say, three hours?"
"Yes, I agree. Make it two hours if you can, though. We should get started."
Storm stepped over to Nightcrawler and put a hand on his shoulder. She smiled down at Topher, who had put the beanie back on his head and was trying to take one of his shoes off. "Kurt, what did you tell him?
"Listen, Forge is calling a meeting a little later; we have a few important things to discuss. In the meantime," she looked down at Blurt, "This young man should get set up with a room. I can give Candice a call."
