Being a mutant got weirder and fucking weirder everyday. Rayen was now not only a dangerous electrocutioner, but she was also appearantly crazy, fighting herself in her mind. He could see her twitch each time she switched personalities, although the motion was hardly noticable. Maybe this was not a good idea - if he were Forge, he'd just keep the half-leg and hobble around the rest of his life.
And then the metallic voice took over Rayen's body and started to go to work. Multiple personalities? If Foley hadn't been so scared of her he would have touched her just to see what was going on with her brain. Something had to be firing wrong , or connected badly, and he wondered briefly if he could fix it before setting himself back to the task at hand: not falling asleep in case they needed him in an emergency again.

Lorna worked diligently, a look of focus on Rayen's eyes. She pulled the wires through his skin to the nerves, curling the delicate threads around each one. It had to hurt like hell, so she worked quickly.
As Rayen fought her, panicking that her own body had been hijacked, the lights began to flicker. Lorna frowned harder through Rayen's face and concentrated, wanting just to get the job done before she relinquished control.
The battery Lorna had created of Rayen's body worked too well. Rayen's emotional upheaval caused a power surge in the medilab not unlike the one that took out the city block in Baltimore- and that had unloaded an unreal amount of voltage.
Lorna sucked in a breath through her teeth. "She's fighting me Forge," she said tightly, struggling to finish before Rayen took hold. As the rightful owner of the body grasped hold of Lorna's power, the metal implements in the room began to rattle.

"Rayen!" Forge shouted, teeth gritted with the pain that was eeking past the anesthesia. "Rayen... you have to listen to me! She's almost done - I can feel it, she's almost done! Just give her another few seconds... it's okay, it's okay."
He was looking at Rayen's eyes, and that didn't change when he changed who he was addressing.
"Lorna - as soon as you're done give her back the control!"
Simultaneously, Dr Bauer had to grab Josh as he went to stand. "No! She's not insane - there's another mutant's mind living in her body! We have to let her finish!"
It was hard to concentrate for either of them with the lights flickering and small objects rattling and hovering. Bauer had to trust that Forge had the situation under control... as much as he knew about the mutant, he knew that Forge had a good head for things. No matter how surreal the situation. He did thank GOD that Forge had informed him of Lorna's presence prior to the surgery.

Lorna turned her head aside as she finished, as if pulling herself away from something by force. Rayen's eyes closed and pulse of electromagnetic energy left her. Every small metal object not secured to a surface flew outwards, banging loudly against walls and cabinets. The lights continued to flicker, but it seemed the major danger had subsided.
Rayen's shaking hands lifted and touched her face as if it had only just returned to her. Opening her eyes slightly, there was a faint white-blue glow deep within her eyes.
"I... have to not be in here." She nodded, trembling. "It's too dangerous-Josh-finish him up."
Getting up, she felt she could hardly stand, her knees like jelly. But she forced herself towards the door. She needed outside, into the trees, where she couldn't hurt anyone.
Least of all Bandero.

Josh was absolutely sure this was not a good idea anylonger. Rayen appeared to be going crazy, talking in a different voice and fighting herself. But as Josh stood to grab her, the Doctor grabbed him instead. "No! She's not insane - there's another mutant's mind living in her body! We have to let her finish!"
Another WHAT?! What the fuck was going on here? Who was the other mutant? Why was she living in Rayen's body, especially with Rayen trying her best to kick her out. It sounded goddamn insane to him.
Foley leaned back against the wall, then ducked as a small metal tray came flying his way. Jesus, she really was crazy. Forge's sister she may be, but if he were Forge, he wouldn't let her anywhere near him.
Josh-finish him up.
Jumping into action at her words, Josh left all thoughts of crazy female X-babes behind as he moved over to Forge and grabbed his wrist again. He dove, found his way to the leg easily after a quick scan to make sure everything else was in good working order, and began to fuse nerves and skin to metal. It wasn't hard, the metal had been made in such a way that it would have fused to the body tissue itself within days, but Foley's presence speeded the process up dramatically.
It really only took a few moments and Foley's conciousness returned to his own body before he released his hold on Forge. "Alright Boss, providing no extenuating circumstances that thing will be stuck with you for life." And if there were extenuating circumstances? Well, that's why Foley was around of course. Had to keep yourself employed somehow.

When it was done, Forge immediately felt a sense of nervousness come over him. They’d arranged all of this, done so much planning, so much work…
He nodded respectfully at Josh and Dr. Bauer, gulping in an almost comic fashion. Carefully he half sat up to pull the leg onto the cap fully. It sealed with a hydraulic ‘clunk’. He sat up, swinging his legs slowly over the side of the bed. The cybernetic limb moved someone jerkily, but it did lower at the knee like the other one.
Carefully, Forge concentrated on the foot. The toes (there were two, one representing his ‘big toe’, another shorter but wider one representing all the other toes) wiggled. He laughed a relieved giggle that was almost a sob.
It had worked. Holy shit.
“It fuckin’ worked!!!” He shouted, a tear rolling down one of his cheeks. He stretched the leg out, and moved it around.
Looking at Josh, a look of complete gratitude on his face, he laughed again. “Thank you, Elixer! You are the fuckin’ MAN!”
The moment was one of complete elation…
It was brief, though, as he knew that Rayen needed to be taken care of.
