Appearance:
Long blonde hair which lightly curls at the ends frames a pretty slim face. Carol has light blue eyes and a straight nose below a proud forehead. She hardly ever wears any make up, but if she does it is usually some eyeliner and clear lip gloss. She is a slim young woman with nice curves though has the frame of someone who exercises regularly.
Her clothes are simple. She usually wears blue jeans, a black halter neck top and some heeled boots. A studded belt is usually hung around her waist and she wears various bracelets and bangles on her wrists. When it’s cold, she will wear a long white trench coat.

Personality:
Carol is fiercely independent and self-reliant. She has always been a woman who challenges gender expectations and who has excelled in male dominated fields. She strongly believes that she can do anything she sets her mind to. Carol is an incredibly confident and strong-willed individual, despite the mental and physical tragedies that have befallen her. She has overcome incredible odds, both personally and professionally.
She has a warrior spirit and raw will power that has been compared to Storm's. This personality trait has allowed her to endure physical and mental torture and to maintain both sanity and focus under extremely stressful and painful conditions. In addition, she has demonstrated a higher than average level of resistance to mental domination.

Powers and Abilities:
Flight- Can fly for a long period, but will need to rest after a few hours or so.
Super Strength- Can lift a large amount and is able to smash through walls etc.
Invulnerability- Has very tough skin and muscles. She can't be bruised or cut, but will be hurt if up against super-human strength or other powers like that. Simply, human attacks will not work although mutants can.

Weaknesses: Carol is also horribly self-reliant and would rather chew her own foot off then ask for help. She is very protective of her gender and will challenge anyone, no matter how strong/powerful they are.

History:
Carol Danvers childhood was pretty normal. She had doting parents and was close to her brother, confiding in him when she was hurt or annoyed. She was quite popular in her schools, having friends and going to many social activities. Her father wished her to become a teacher but when her brother joined the army, Carol became interested in the same career path and she entered the Air Force.

She rapidly rose to become one of the leading agents in military intelligence, mainly for her own interest and to prove her father wrong (who was slightly sexist and was against females in that sort of work place). During a simulation test where she was helping out, some of the male air force members tried to be smart with her and shouted degrading things. Carol snapped and hit one guy in the nose. However, instead of a simple hit, he was knocked backwards through the opposite wall and Carol found herself floating in mid-air. That's when her powers first developed.

Carol didn't reveal these new powers to anyone just yet, although was forced to leave the Air Force under "honourable release" because of the accident. They didn't ask questions and she left, somewhat annoyed. This was around the time of the Liberty Island incident. For the new few years, she continued with her life, trying to find a new job and figure out what to do with herself.

However, one night when she was asleep, she was captured by a mob of mutant haters and dragged out onto the street. She didn't use her powers for fear of hurting them because they were people she knew very well, this led to some hatred towards them later on. She would have been killed if it wern't for her flight powers. Carol left her home that night and moved far away, disconnecting herself with her family and friends. She spent a few months moving around to different places before hearing about the X-men and she joined them in hope of having a palce to fit in.

It was a sunny morning so Carol made use of it to look around the town. She'd only been here for a few days and she strolled in the direction of the park. Even though it was quite quiet so far, she was glad to be here. Ever since the attack on her back home she'd been moving from place to place in attempt to forget about the past memories.

She shuddered now as she thought about it and her hand subconsciously moved to her stomach where she still had a scar. It had been night time when the mob attacked Carol and she was completely off-guard. Her mother kept saying that she wasn't safe, that the neighbours were growing scared of her, that they would do something if she didn't leave. Carol did as she said and moved out, but not from the town. It was her home and she didn't see why she should have to leave it.

However, that night a group of them attacked and they had dragged her out of her house and into the street. She didn't resist or fight back because she didn't want to hurt them. They were people she'd grown up with and she even spotted a cousin in the crowds. The mob started shouting things like "lynch her!" and "mutant freak!" The words still hurt her, though she was angered by them aswell. Before things started getting too serious, she had flown using her dreadful powers. She hadn't returned to the town since.

Carol sighed now as she walked and kicked a drink bottle with her foot along the pavement. At last she arrived at the crowded park and she smiled when she saw the playing families- they looked happy and content. She wondered what they'd do if she used her powers. She doubted they'd be as happy.

Hey, I'm not a mod (...yet? ), so you don't HAVE to change these things or listen to me, but I bet I'm just jumping the gun on things the real mods will want to say:

You may need to dampen her invulnerability a bit - It's good that she actually gets cut and bruised, but the fact that she "won't be physically beaten" is pretty daunting.

It'd be cool to see how the mob found out about her powers, how they got formed (as a mob), and how she knew some of them. You could maybe also talk a bit more about her moving away and disconnecting from her loved ones.

Okay I like the personality and appearance sections. The powers, I think something needs to be done with the invulnerability, like Dave (Maggott) said.

She couldn't really feel the pain of a broken arm, for instance, without the bone actually breaking, you know what I mean? Where would the pain be coming from? And the invulnerability would be pretty useless, because the pain would make her function about as well as if it was actually broken and she was feeling that pain.

I have a character who has a slight degree of invulnerability, and what I did, is I made her skin tough. Pretty much, she can't be cut or bruised, and it'd take superhuman strength or speed to stab her. A bullet would go into her, but it wouldn't go as far as one normally would; it would be slowed down and stopped by the toughness of her skin/muscles, etc.

Also, how about this: She would only have a small degree of invulnerability when up against someone with superhuman strength or speed, aka, it'd be a bit harder to hurt her but could still be done. Or else you turn mutants like the Juggernaut into useless opponents, which totally undermines the character. We're looking for a fair and even playing field, you know?

And then against mutants with power over, say, ice or fire, I'd say they'd still be able to hurt her, as you can still freeze something very tough - you can freeze just about anything. But for example, if Bobby shot icicles at her or something, though, because of her invulnerability, they'd probably barely puncture her skin.

Do you see the level I'm getting at? It's hard to pin down to a certain point because there are so many 'what if's and so many situations she could be in. I liked the limits you set for the rest of her powers, but let's see what we can figure out for the invulnerability.

In the history, I'd like to see something about what happened to her before she went into the Air Force - did she have a happy childhood? Was she wealthy, bullied, strange in some way? What made her want to go into the Air Force? Those are just some ideas - you can add whatever you want.

And you said 'Carol didn't reveal these new powers to anyone just yet and was forced to leave the Air Force'. Was she forced to leave because of the fight she got into with the male military guys? If so, did they just honorably release her, not asking questions? That'd be reasonable, but so would a lot of things if you'd rather something else have happened.

And how she got away from the mob may have to be changed once we figure out the invulnerability powers.

Looks good. Just a thing about the invulnerability - I think some non-superhuman stuff would hurt her. Just say it'd take a lot of force or weight to hurt her. If it seems like she's pwning everything later on once you start rping, we may have to make more agreements, but for now that looks good. Just add that little bit if you don't see a problem with it, and you'll be good to go.

Now, so you know. We're in a transition period, the site is. In about a month, we'll start heavily revamping things, clearing out old threads, and focusing mainly on recruitment. We lost a good number of people who played lots of characters, due to work schedules and other time commitments. So we're a small group right now, but we're realistic about how much it'll take to get the site reborn so to speak, and we can do it.

So for now, things will be moving probably a little slowly, we're going to keep rping and stuff, but with less characters than we'd like, it will be slow going until next month. The reason I say a month is that is what several people have agreed is when their schedules will lighten up and they'll be able to help a lot in revamping and recruiting.

So I will love you forever if you bring someone to join this site! A good rper, of course, and a friendly person OOCly.
