I can't speak for everyone, but I think, Becka, a possible exception to the rules may be in order. I think that with special permission from multiple mods, we should be able to breach the five charecter limit.
I think that in this case, the rule should be that one can not have MORE than four Cannon charecters. The rest should be OC's.
That way we don't just use up all the canon charecters... already I think that may be verging on a problem.
I'm only suggesting this because I know Ben, Sarah, Reineke and I could easily play 6 or 7 charecters - and have no qualms.
Thoughts anyone?

Ditto. I've successfully played 9 characters before, though I do have a tendency to get bored and drop older ones.
I think all of us are strong enough writers to handle the load, but I do think we also need to have a canon limit - even if we couldn't possibly take all the canon characters, we'd all take the good ones, and there would never be any fresh blood.

Part of my situation is that particular characters, while valuable to the game world and in certain situations, are limited because of who they are.
Phase is a great example. Wonderful concept, lots of potential in the *right* story arc, but for the most part plays to cuteness and the occasional flash of depth.
I don't want to drop her as I think she adds somethign to the story, but then, I'm not going to be playing her a whole hell of a lot either.
I think for those of us players who are posting consistently with all 5 characters, we should be able to get special permission to go over.

Not a problem at all, we can certainly change the character limit.
Once established at the board, the limit could go up to 10 or so, with 5 being cannon, that way noobs aren't suddenly wasting all ten of their characters in one breath and not following through, but those of you who can manage ten can have them. Sound good?
