It wasn't long after Aurora started leading Poseidon toward the building that she made conversation. And it wasn't just to escape silence; she was genuinely curious about him. "So you were at Xavier's, huh? With the X-Men?" she asked as she trekked across the large barren yard.
"Bet that was a barrel of fun," she said sarcastically, looking up to the building and then sideways at Poseidon's face.

Sy chuckled at her statement and nodded his head, "indeed I was with Xavier's group for a time, and they certainly can be a prissy group of folks. There were some there who weren't so bad, but I did not care for their leadership." He didn't elaborate - he wasn't the gossipy sort to speak ill about one behind their back. He made his opinion known and left it at that.
"Miss...tique" he had almost called her Miss Oracle, before he remembered that he had never actually met the goddess named Oracle, "and I had a few conversations at the school, and she told me about the Brotherhood. For as much as I was welcome there, I did not seem to have the same outlook on life as they did. I think this will be a far better match."
He looked over at her with a warm smile, "and you, Miss Aurora? How did you come to this place?"

Aurora's lips twitched into a smile as she thought of how to start her story. "Well, to put it simply, I lived most of my life as a woman called Jeanne-Marie Beaubier." Her french pronunciation of the name was flawless, but she lapsed easily back into a voice that had no trace of an accent, and was low and smooth.
"Then I just woke up one day," she continued with a slight shrug of her shoulders. "I'd done it a few times before, but never for longer than a day. Now, Jeanne-Marie spent her whole life in a catholic school--A breeding ground for nuns. So of course I left. Went to a mutant rally in Montreal, and contacted Pyro. Met up with them shortly before Baltimore, and helped out with that...And so far, I've barely heard a peep from Mother Jeanne."
So she'd put a positive spin on things. But it was easier that way, and she didn't want anyone thinking she was crazy. If he wanted to know more, she'd gladly tell.

"Ahh, we have similar backgrounds then, Miss Aurora," Sy said with a pleasant smile. "I too was raised in an overbearingly religious household and have since set myself free to commune with the divine in my own way." His own way being to pronounce himself divine and hold communion with no others.
"I sincerely hope those weren't your plants in Baltimore?" Despite his cool, calm, somewhat holier-than-thou attitude he was slightly apprehensious about meeting the person who had made the plants, if only because he'd been destroying her gifts during the fight. Then again, there was no point in holding grudges, and if all she could do were plants he could very well beat her if she tried to retaliate.

Aurora laughed, shaking her head. "No, those weren't my plants. You'll recognize their owner when you see her, though--She's a plant herself. Actually," she mused, "She's usually pretty mellow. Compared to me, anyway, I guess you could say."
"No, my power is super speed, both across land and through the air. As well as the manipulation of people's emotions," she told Poseidon with a nod as they neared the door. After a pause, in which she looked sideways at Sy, she asked, "What's yours? If you don't mind my asking..."

Even after his short time with the Institute, Sy was already prepared for the question that everyone asked. Akin to 'what's your major?' in college, all mutants asked as soon as possible 'what's your power?' - it was an easy way to break the ice.
Pushing up a sleeve, the sea god exposed the green 'hair' on his arm with a smile. "Have you ever been stung by a jellyfish? They have small, stinging nematocytes in their tentactles that are very unpleasant when touched. I have the same, covering my body - my hair fell out and these replaced it." He ran a hand over his head, and could feel the prickle of the tiny stinging hairs just beginning to surface after the long flight.
Then, expecting her not to be impressed much by the nematocytes (as no one ever was, until they touched one) he stopped walking and turned to her, holding up his hand palm-out and letting the sweat build up until it ran down his arm and dripped off his elbow, sizzling as it hit the organic matter on the ground. "It's an enzyme, made by fire coral and other such creatures of the sea. It is corrosive to organic matter, save my own body."
But showing off had its own downside, and Sy turned around to flick the excess enzyme off his hands, the drops hissing like rain on a hot fire, before bending down and wiping the remainder off on the cuff of his pants. "I go through clothes fairly quickly," he said with a grin.

Aurora stared at the place on the ground where his acid sweat had burned a hole in it. She was glad that he turned to flick the rest of the sweat from his hand, as she'd rather not have had a hole burnt through her arm as well.
"I go through clothes fairly quickly,"
"I hope you brought plenty, then, because there's no shopping on this rock," Aurora said with a smile. "That's an amazing power," she added, giving her approval of his unique abilities. It was strange; Aurora had assumed that Angie's inability to touch people was rare. Maybe lots of mutants couldn't touch others.
Aurora eyed his hands as they came within a few steps of the door. He must not feel like he needed to wear gloves or anything on his hands. She'd just have to make a mental note to not brush his hand or anything. "So...Mystique was at Xavier's, huh? Do you know what she was doing there?"

His smiled mirrored her own as he watched her face. So she did not think he was 'lame' which was good - being thought of as lame by another god was not high on Sy's wish list today. Although he hadn't brought too many clothes with him, but then again, the little jungle boy had no problems running around stark naked and green.
He did note her eyes on his hands as they walked, probably weary of the enzyme she'd just seen him produce, but the truth was that he could usually control it. She'd only have to fear the tiny green hairs on his knuckles unless he was nervous or excited. Still, not nearly dangerous enough to warrant gloves - he already wore long pants and sleeves for his sake.
"As far as I know she was impersonating a woman named Oracle. As to why, I could not say." With that, he leaned forward and opened the door for her. He may be an arrogant god, but she was a goddess afterall, and if anyone had heard of Hera they would know it is wise to be nice to a goddess.

Aurora was mildly surprised that he'd opened the door for her, as well as mildly impressed. It was nice to have such a gentleman join their ranks--Dharma seemed like he fit into that category, but as Aurora had yet to really talk to him, she couldn't be sure. And once you looked past the death and creepiness, Dead Man was probably a gentleman as well. Unfortunately, that was far to look.
She walked through the door and began to lead Poseidon through hallways she thought of as more of catacombs. "Who knows why she does anything she does," she said with a shrug. "I hear she's a master of disguise, and has been since before my time."
And yet she looked mid-twenty range. Though it was hard to tell, with her blue skin and red hair.
"Okay, so the kitchen's down this hall," she said, gesturing down a side hallway. "It's kind of a maze until you figure it out, but don't worry, you can't get lost. Gill keeps tabs on everyone, and I'm pretty sure there's cameras in just about every room." 'Except bathrooms,' she added in her mind. Or...A gross thought occured to Aurora, and she made a face that Sy wouldn't be able to see.
"Okay, this room's available, as well as that one two down, and the one at the end of the hall there," Aurora said, pointing to each door in turn before turning back to Poseidon.

The interior of the place was quite possibly worse than that of the mansion. At least the mansion had wood panels, so it didn't look completely tech-frenzied. This place was a metal mansion, and while it would be great to not have to worry about accidentally frying something like a wall or table, Sy didn't think he would be spending much time inside.
"This room is fine," he said as she turned toward him. He didn't really care either way - it was just a place to throw his extra clothes. Opening the door, he tossed his stuff in, letting it slide across the metal floor until it hit a leg of the bed and stopped, and then shut the door again and looked at her expectantly.

"Alright," Aurora said with a nod, placing her hands on her hips as he shut the door to his new room and looked at her. "I guess a tour's in order, then. I'm hungry anyway, though with tolerating the smell of McDonald's and rotting flesh, I don't know how, so lets go to the kitchen, shall we?"
Aurora started down the hallway, leading the way to the kitchen. "So you've met Mystique, and Angie, and Python, and Pyro...So that leaves the Juggernaut, Dharma, Jane, Callisto, and Gill. I think that covers it." Aurora fell silent for a moment as they reached the kitchen, searching her brain for any names she'd missed.
