Python didn't say more than two words to Pyro for the entire ten hour trip, and they were "Buckle" and "Up". He'd heard the unspoken words that had passed between them inbetween times, though.
Where everyone else had grabbed some sleep, he'd stayed awake, too hyped up and thrilled by the new additions to relax. At one time, he'd have joined Python in the cockpit and they'd have bantered with one another, but he got the idea that going in there might result in his untimely death.
So he'd sat with his copy of 'Catch-22' and read it cover to cover for the 'nth time instead. Unsurprisingly, Yossarian's adventures were still the same.
He knew that he and Python were going to have to sort this thing out, but right now he wasn't prepared to make the first move towards reconciliation and so the silence remained.
As the plane took the final turn in towards Genosha, he obeyed Python's barked 'Buckle up' command with a sigh. The excitement of the past couple of days was dissipating, leaving him feeling strangely flat. Still, he knew that once things with Sombra took off, his life would become more meaningful again.
In the meantime, he had the new recruits and they had the training ground...a few hours practise a day and the young Brotherhood was going to become a force to be reckoned with.
It took him back to a conversation he'd had with Magneto once, not long after Callisto and her crew had come on board and the idea of starting a spin-off organisation that John had always fancied calling the Acolytes - a group who went out and put into motion all the strategies and plans that Magneto came up with.
It had been a good suggestion and one which Magneto had promised to give some serious thought to once Alcatraz was over.
About half an hour later, the plane touched down on the runway strip on Genosha and taxied to a halt. Without even saying a word, Python released the doors and pulled them back.
"Here we go, guys," said Pyro, forcing cheerfulness into his tone. "Welcome to Genosha."
