There was the deafening sound of breaking glass as the window of Roy's room shattered. Amongst the sound of glass shards hitting the floor was the louder thump of a rock hitting the floor and rolling to a stop on the floorboards.
Aurora's exclaimed curse word was muted by the breaking glass. Fortunately, she repeated it many times as she shot toward the window she'd just caused to shatter. "Shit! SHIT!"
She turned from a blur into a solid figure, hovering outside the window, craning her neck to see if anyone was in the room. She didn't know whose room it was, but she seriously hoped they hadn't been standing at the window a few moments ago.

Roy was sitting on his bed, thumbing through an old copy of The Virginian when the window suddenly shattered, shards of glass tinkling as they careened across the floor. On his feet in an instant, he curled his fingers, pointers stretched forward, and darted to the window, aiming for whatever was attacking.
He hadn't expected to find Aurora appearing in the open space, swearing as she materialized. Letting his hands drop, he flicked loose glass out of the window frame and leaned out. "Hey there. Having fun causin' a stir?"

Aurora darted to the side as she saw Roy had his hands up, just beginning to shout out that it was her when her fast-moving brain receptors saw that he was beginning to lower his hands. She relaxed, and moved closer to the window. "Yeah...well, so long as no one got hurt, then yeah, it was a hell of a lot of fun," she admitted, giving him a grin that was still tinted with relief that her slip-up hadn't gotten anyone maimed or worse. "It's just a window," she mused as her eyes travelled up and along the windowframe.
"Mind if I come in?" she asked, her eyes falling on a shard of glass that lay on the windowsill. She picked it up between her thumb and forefinger - probably a bad idea in hindsight, as it cut a shallow line in her finger that quickly showed a thin line of blood. "What the--" Frowning, Aurora tossed the glass over her shoulder to the ground far below. It wasn't often that she bled. She pressed her finger between her lips, her tongue nursing the small cut. She didn't seem to mind it much, though, and she looked over her hand to Roy for his response.

Grinning, Roy flicked more glass out of the windowframe. "Just a window, you say? This window keeps the elements out of my room. Now I'm going to have to find somewhere else to stay. You owe me for that."
Stepping back from the opening, he twitched his head inside, giving her a welcoming look. "I got a first aid kit in here if you want. What with robbing banks, it's a good idea to be able to take care of any wounds you get, from the mundane - like your cut there - to the more serious. Bulletholes suck, but they happen.
"So, what were you doing throwin' rocks around anyway? Did you decide to knock out as many windows as possible, or am I just special?"

"I was hitting spiders," Aurora said off-handedly with a joking smirk as she turned, bringing her legs up as though she were sitting on the window ledge and turning to jump down inside, though she was in fact hovering a few inches above the solid surface. Her hands even pressed flat against the air on either side, like it was as solid as anything. She turned herself to face into his room and then slid down to plant her feet on the floor.
"I was training, actually. Pretty simple; throw a rock as far and as fast as I can, then get to it and catch it before it gets to the ground. I was doing pretty good until that last one," she finished with a flashed grin toward the man as she took a few steps into the center of the room.
"And...yeah, I guess I could use a band-aid," she admitted, lifting her hand again and taking a glance down at the slowly bleeding cut.
"So I can tell you're living the wild life out here in paradise," she teased him through an almost serious tone as she looked back at him over her shoulder.

Shrugging casually, Roy leaned against one of the sparse walls of the small room, sticking his hands in his pockets. "Hitting spiders sounds like the better use of your time," he said with mock seriousness. Of course, that was good training for him, but hers sounded like something to help her with her own powers.
Kneeling down and digging into his duffel bag (which still remained fully packed, even though he was on an island with no way off), he pulled out a beaten-up first aid kit and tugged a bandage free. Holding it out while his other hand shoved the white box back inside the bag, he grinned at her. "Yeah, well, there aren't many stores to shop at or banks to rob on this island, so my options are a little limited."

Aurora accepted the band-aid, and placing one end carefully in her mouth, used the hand that wasn't bleeding to peel the paper from it. She then wrapped it around her finger, smoothing it down over her skin.
Appropriately covered, the minor injury was forgotten. Aurora was not the type to dwell on something so small.
"Have you tried swimming? Or hiking? This island is actually more than spider-infested jungle, you know," Aurora said; not condescending in the least, but rather interested. "There's a few different waterfalls that are absolutely amazing, as well as some cliffs that I'd love to climb if we had any gear. I've been meaning to ask Gill if we do. And if I could only get some scuba-diving gear, I could go so far down. I bet it's amazing down there."
As she spoke passionately, she wandered to his bed and sat down at the end of it. She seemed remarkably at ease, comfortable enough to welcome herself to sit on a man's bed.

Roy really didn't mind seeing the young woman sit down on his bed; there was certainly something fetching about the idea, but he pushed it from the fore of his mind and sat down next to her. "Well, forgive me for being skeptical, but these waterfalls wouldn't happen to be through that spider-infested jungle, would it?" He smiled winningly and leaned back on his hands. "Still, I have been walking around this damn base for a long time; a trip outside might be just the ticket."
And seeing you swimming around would certainly help make it a bit more bearable, he thought, never letting anything but the friendly smile flit across his features. "You can count me in."

"Well, it's not through the spider-infested jungle if you can fly," Aurora pointed out with an air of mischief. "But unfortunately, I couldn't carry you far enough and high enough."
"But luckily, we can get to it by going around on the beach. Then there's only a little bit of jungle to go through, and I'll be able to spot anything moving."
"I'll just need to get my suit on," she said, standing. "Meet me outside in ten minutes?" She looked to him where he sat on the bed with a small smile.

Even if Roy's face didn't move, he was taken aback. He hadn't expected them to plan on any sort of excursion so quickly, and her decision for ten minutes took him off guard. Still, his mind whirled swiftly and he ran over the various possible answers before deciding that there was little to keep him from going along with it. Of course, he wouldn't have time to find someone he could borrow a suit from, but a little trimming on an old pair of jeans would make a pair of shorts that he could swim in just fine.
Rising, he moved toward his bag, glancing at her with a grin. "Sure enough. I'll see you there."
