The line went dead as the woman called Hepzibah hung up. They'd need to get someone out there to take a look around. She'd sounded promising on the phone, but then Gill figured a government agent probably would sound pretty convincing. They'd know soon enough.
John would want to go and meet her himself of course. Something he couldn't do and knew Python would never allow. Pyro was simply high profile right now to be showing his face in America.
Now there was the small matter of the Email he had received.
Poseidon huh.
The instructions had been fairly specific about contacting the lad, though Gill was not particularly happy with the idea of calling somebody in the thick of Xavier's institute. You never knew who might be listening.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
He punched the digits into the phone and reset the scrambler. Time to see whether the God of the Seas was home.

Oracle had given Sy a cellphone, when he said he would like to be contacted by the Brotherhood, and taught him how to use it. He had put it in the pocket of his pants and promptly forgotten about it. So when the little tinkling bell noise started, it took him a moment to realize what exactally was going on.
"Oh!" He dug in his pocket for the phone and looked at the screen, "unknown number" printed in tiny block letters on the indiglo green background. That must be them. He hit the green send button and held the phone up to his ear as she had instructed.
"Hello?" His voice was steady as he spoke, and waited for the person on the other end of the line to answer.

Gill adopted a deep south African accent as the call was answered. It was time to find out if this young man was as promising as his file had looked.
"Master Poseidon I assume," Gill said, his false accent rolling off the tongue as easily as the last.
"It has come to our attention that as a God of the Seas, you may be feeling dissatisfied with life among the children." If the information was correct the young man would be receptive to the ideals of the Brotherhood.
A mutant that believed himself a God would feel right at home on Genosha.
And with Angie and Aurora already in New York, the timing couldn't be better.

Master Poseidon I assume
He liked these people already - they knew exactally who they were addressing, and how to address him. "It is," he replied and smiled into the phone, aware of the concept but still talking as if the man were standing before him.
"And it has come to my attention that you perhaps have a better situation for dieties like myself to live with others who appreciate their gifts to their full potential?" The sea god was ready to cut the small talk and move right on to more important things. Hopefully they would be able to look past his siding with the X-men for the short time during Baltimore, especially since he had not actually fought one of the Brotherhood members, but only the plants they were making.

If Gill could have smiled he would have done; Pyro was going to like this one. It was unfortunate they had drawn a blank with Hepzibah, the young woman had sounded very promising on the phone. Perhaps she had got cold feet at the last moment. It wouldn't be the first time it had happened.
Still, this one sounded fine, and to poach him from Xavier's place too.
"Indeed we do, here we do not fear what we are, do not limit those around us, hide from humanity. We embrace our power, power that is justly ours to wield over the feeble creature called man."
Gill might have the face of a fish but he had a mind as sharp as a razor and could tell people what they wanted to hear when he needed to. Magneto had let him run the base for a reason.
"I think perhaps you should meet with some of our people and see for yourself, they are in New York right now."

New York huh? Sy would have to figure out where that was and how to get there, but he was sure Oracle could be of some help in that situation. And if she had decided by that time to switch sides as well, he certainly wouldn't count himself unlucky to be travelling with her.
"It would be a pleasure to meet some of your group. Is there some specific place that I can find them?"

"At the heart of the city there is a patch of grass and woods called Central Park. Meet them there tomorrow at noon, by Bethesda Fountain. It is by the lake, there will be three there waiting, two women and a man."
Gill paused, he would have to brief them on who to look for.
"We look forward to making your acquaintance Master Poseidon. Farewell."
Then he hung up the phone.
After a short pause to have another smoke Gill picked up the phone yet again and punched in the number for Angie. He sighed out a billowing cloud and rolled his big eyes.
He was starting to feel like an exchange.
