Player: CK (Forge, Wolverine, Dead Man)
Name: Wade Wilson
Codename(s): Deadpool
Affiliation: Humans: Bolivar Trask, though notably, a complete mercenary.
Age: 44?, though unaged for over a decade due to regeneration
Height: 6'2
Weight: 210
Hair Color: none
Eye Color: Brown
Appearance:
Horribly disfigured. Deadpool’s skin is horribly calloused, looking quite burnt or scarred. However, he never really shows his face, being quite ashamed by it (he was once a handsome man.) Instead, he wears a cloth-and-leather suit of combat armor at all times. It completely covers every inch of his body.
Though I don’t have a live-action picture of the suit, it looks rather similar to the outfits the X-Men wear. It’s leather, mostly, and form fitting. Wade’s is dark red save for the sides which are black, as are parts of his shoulders and chest, and areas around his eyes. He’s never seen without the outfit on, and rarely without two swords strapped to his back, along with various other pieces of hardware. Needless to say, operating independent of public transportation is a must, and he often has to charter private planes to get anywhere.
History:
Wade Wilson was a very decorated special agent, having been involved in numerous black ops and wet-works assignments across a plethora of government agencies. He was quick, deadly, and ruthlessly efficient at eliminating the “bad guy” - who ever that may have been at the time. He seemed all but unstoppable, but where no man could go, mother nature found a way. He soon discovered he was destined to die at the hands of an inoperable cancer that was spreading throughout his body.
Soon he was contacted by a prominent military leader, one deep in espionage and secret laboratory works – one William Stryker. Stryker offered Wade a chance to live, offering him more than just a cure, but possibly the very cure for death itself!
Wade Wilson volunteered for the Weapon X program. At this time, Wolverine had escaped, and Stryker was seeking to make a replacement. Using DNA from Wolverine, he had an experimental method of giving a normal human a comparable cellular regeneration rate to Logan's, which was extraordinary. Wade would be one of the first tests...
Unfortunately, the experiment would prove a failure. 100% of those who were introduced to the genetic reprogramming all ended up dying hideous deaths... well, all save Wilson. Wade's cancer conflicted with the genetic alteration in a bizarre way, completely altering his flesh, and leaving him a scarred mess. All Wade got out of the deal was a good deal of “Hamburger Face” - as he lovingly calls it. He did not gain the regeneration gene at all.
A broken, deformed, and now partially insane Wade was dumped from the Weapon X Program, and sent to another experiment known as the Workshop. Here he, and other dropouts from various government and commercial testing, were furthered tampered with and tested on, all being disposed of in a cruel game known as the “Dead Pool” - a disturbing lottery that was used to select who would be advanced to “Lethal” testing... Wade's number was pulled one day, and he was surely set to die.
Only it never happened. For some reason, the lethal experiment done to him finally managed to trigger the recessive regeneration gene, and he gained full regenerative properties, exactly like the Wolverine. This invigorated the broken spirit of Wade, and he led a revolt against the facility, killing his way out of the building and freeing all of the other test victims.
Having the powerful mutant power, a deformed body, and years of intense combat expertise, he decided it was best to use his talents in the fashion it seemed most appropriate: Be a mercenary. He took the name of the game that gave him his freedom: “Deadpool.”
Now he moves from agency to agency, using the contacts he had from his life before Weapon X, and hires himself to the highest bidder. Sometimes they're “Good guys,” sometimes not. His most recent hire is a man by the name of Bolivar Trask – an anti-mutant militant working in the government. Deadpool cares little about the politics of mutants, having been born and raised a normal human – and only gaining his powers through experimentation, which he learned to hate. He has no moral problem working for Trask, and also accepts that fact that eventually Trask will try to kill him.
Personality:
The Weapon X procedure has left Wade with a minor case of insanity, and a whole truckload of insecurity. Uncomfortable with his own problems, he often covers his low self esteem with non-stop joking, wit, and a complete lack of taking the world seriously. This belies the real Wade Wilson, who suffers severe self-doubt and a low level of self worth. The worst part about his personality is his low value of life. Having been to death's door on more than one occasion, he almost longs to finally bed with death, and be done with the cruelty of the world. To this degree, he's torn between finding people who die sooner rather than later lucky, or mis fortunate. It's for this reason that it's hard to pin a lot of morality on Deadpool – because he may believe that killing is wrong, but he doesn't believe its really THAT wrong. Just sort of wrong, like thieving or beating. Of course, if he ever found someone to care about, this would likely change.
Powers:
Deadpool has Wolverine's mutant ability to regenerate virtually any wounds. It's unknown exactly how much damage it would take to permanently put the Merc with a Mouth down, but he's been hit with most small arms fire and survived even normally lethal wounds.
Other side affects from this mutation include enhanced strength, speed, and reflexes.
Additional Advantages:
One of the best physical fighters on the market. A student of Ninjitsu (even if it was an ‘americanized’ version of the art’ since he could walk, he eventually picked up the use of swords through this art – and eventually took to love Kenjitsu. He's easily a 6th Dan in both arts, which is particularly brutal in combination with his enhanced physical body. He also has many years of firearms, special weapons, tactics, technology, and other military/black ops training.
In a recent mission, tracking down remnants of the Weapon X project, he acquired a pair of Ninja-To created for a Japanese Mobster who dubbed himself the “Silver Samurai,” by William Stryker. It seems the swords were created out of the indestructible Adamantium, and were part of a deal for financial support on the Weapon X Project. Deadpool stole the swords, claiming them for his own, and left the country with a highly powerful enemy. (( note: I just thought the idea too cool for school, let me know if it's too much. IN the comics Deadpool has a teleporter device, which is bad ass, but didn't match the world's level of technology – so I changed it to this advantage instead ))
Weaknesses:
Deadpool has a terrible time relating to normal society. He's constantly a jokester, often acting as if breaking the fourth wall. This stems from a complete lack of social confidence, a horribly tormented past. He also looks like a hideous freak outside of his costume.
ooc Note: Will find a way to make a live-action picture for Deadpool, don't you worry. It's in the works.
