(This is Bobby and Aurora's rper person)
Name: Emma Frost
Codename: The White Queen
Affiliation: What day of the week is it? Ah, Saturday. The Brotherhood.
Age: 27
Height: 5"10
Weight: 144 lbs.
Hair Color: Brown, dyed blonde
Eye Color: Blue
Appearance:
Emma Frost is not beautiful, nor graceful. She is beauty. She is grace. These things she emanates. She is tall and slim, with hair a shade of white-gold that falls past her shoulders. But despite this beauty, she leaves no doubt in the minds of others that her beauty is only outdone by her wit. Her face often holds a look of calm--a look that shows that she has complete control over whatever situation she may be in, and has no worries as to the outcome. Her blue eyes, which can see into a person's deepest thoughts, almost without fail hold a look of haughty intelligence.
Frost is almost always entirely clothed in white; almost as if she were hiding her shadowy mind and dark deeds with the symbolization of purity that white has been since the beginning of time. Though she of course dresses with sophistication for business--which monopolizes her time--she has no inhibitions of censorship, and is perfectly comfortable in little more than her underclothes.
She gives a presence of self-confidence at every moment of every waking hour. Her stance, her voice intonations, her facial expressions all show impenetrable understanding of her abilities.
Personality:
An important thing to know about Emma is that she is not a villainess. She does underhanded things, but she has a true personality. Do not define her by her actions.
It's how she keeps her reputation so clean--by appearing kind. And this is not fake--though she is fake at times, as is everyone else. She is not some cold-hearted woman who uses everyone around her and cares for no one but herself. She is naturally the kind of woman who attracts people to her--warm, funny, clever, outgoing. She is a very likeable person, with impressive people skills. She has true friends, for no one can function completely alone in the world, as much as she'd like to believe she can and is doing so. Her teenage years instilled in her a viscous belief in independence, and she forces those around her to rely on themselves as well where she is involved.
Emma has no qualms about using her beauty to win her way at times when use of her powers is not necessary or is not the best plan of action. She can be a siren, luring any man with her seductive airs. But she is in no way a common callgirl. She holds herself high above being cheap and easy. On the other hand, she is no nun. She has her fun.
Emma knows full well she is beautiful and incredibly intelligent, but these things have not given her an ego per se. She at times has a haughty air, which is, in her mind, well deserved considering her accomplishments.
Powers and Abilities:
Emma is an Class Five Mutant. She is a High Order Telepath, and has many various telepathic abilities. I know that normally, characters are encouraged to not include all of the powers that their character has had over the many years the X-Men comics have been around, so that they can develop some powers during the rp. But I feel that in Emma's case, because she is an alpha-level mutant with extraordinary powers, and is an adult who has had many, many years and much experience to develop her powers, that her many different uses of telepathy are not overkill. I did, however, choose not to have made her ability to turn her body into impenetrable diamond manifested itself yet. It may at some point, but I think that Emma has enough powers without. If I need to take some out, I will.
The easiest way to describe her powers, I've found, is in a list. That way they aren't all jumbled together and are easier to understand. But if I need to write it another way, I can do that as well.
DEFENSIVE
- Telepathic Camouflage: ability to mask herself, and other peoples' presence from those around her. She can camouflage herself for as long as needed with no effort, but must focus on others if shielding them as well. They must be within a reasonable range to her for her to be able to camouflage them.
- Psionic Shield: ability to erect a psychic shield for protection of herself and of others minds. She can protect herself at all times with no effort, but must focus on others if shielding them as well. They must be within a reasonable range to her for her to be able to shield them.
- Cloak Mind: ability to rearrange the "mental engrams" of mutants so they cannot be detected by Cerebro-type devises, Sentinels, or by other telepaths.
OFFENSIVE
- Psionic Spears: can project psionic force bolts which have no physical effects but which can affect a victim's mind so as to cause the victim pain or unconsciousness and can even kill an adversary. If she does this forcefully enough to severely hurt or kill her victim, it leaves her with a backlash in the form of a terrible headache.
- Induce Pain: can also induce mental pain merely by touching the brow of her victim. She cannot do this to anyone she is mind-reading, controlling, or otherwise interferring with, because it would harm her as well.
- Mind Control: ability to control the minds of others upon mere concentration.
- Mind Possession: ability to possess the mind of another, and use that being's body as her own. This is difficult for her to do, and it leaves her own body in an unconscious state while she possesses the other's body. It also runs the risk that that person, if strong enough, may fight for control of their body, which can damage both her mind and theirs.
- Mind Alteration: ability to alter the minds of others by force of will.
- Dilate Power: ability to place 'psychic inhibitors' in the minds of mutant adversaries to prevent them from using their powers. She can keep this hold for a max of several hours, depending on the strength of the mutant. She can drain a mutant completely of their powers for this time, or if she puts this hold on two mutants, she reduces their powers to half (makes it considerably more exhausting to use their powers) for that amount of time.
OTHER
- Telepathic Illusion: ability to create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring. These can last no more than a few minutes, or the victim and Emma both run risks of mind damage.
- Mental Amnesia: ability to cause loss of particular memories, and amnesia in another person or even in a group of people.
- Astral Projection: ability to Astral Travel and communicate with others astrally through her own will, or through contact with the thoughts and memories of others.
***NOTE: Being a class five mutant, there are few who can block her from their mind. Charles Xavier, for example, would be aware that she was interfering with his mind, and perhaps able to block some things from her. Jean Grey would have been much the same. Other than that, her mind-reading and mind-control go completely undetected.***
She is also very skilled in electronic theory and electronics and has learned how to build devices that can amplify psionic energy and utilize psionic energy for various effects. She is an above average athlete and has had some training in hand-to-hand combat.
Weaknesses:
The major crack in her seemingly unblemished powers is that at times, she cannot control them. When she feels very passionately about something--whether something makes her very angry or she is very excited about something--she will at times subconsciously use her powers to aid her, even at times when this is not the best thing to do in the long run, and her mind tells her not to.
Emma cannot outrightly fight for the cause that she so passionately believes in--which is to put an end to persecution of mutants (if that requires violent means, so be it). This is because she is afraid of losing her social standing, her wealth, and her career.
Also--and this is buried so deep one would never even consider that it would be the case unless she revealed it to them--because of her ability to ultimately control everyone around her, when someone compliments her or seems to be her friend or anything of the sort, she can never know with a surety that she didn't force them to say what they did, or feel what they do.
History:
Emma Frost was born into an extremely wealthy family that held much power in the business world. She was provided with the finest in estate homes, cultural upbringing, and private tutoring and given a wealth of social activities. She was being groomed at a young age to one day take her place in the ranks of the upper-class society of Boston and New England.
But all this halted suddenly in her mid-teenage years. Emma Frost was experiencing growing mental trauma. When Emma's mental powers first manifested, she could not control them, and couldn't block out the thoughts of others. After numerous consultations with psychologists, psychiatrists, doctors, counselors and the like, it was determined that she would be better off in an exclusive in-patient facility for disturbed young adults. They admitted her when she was seventeen. This seemed to ruin her future as a debutante and mark her as an outcast.
At the institution, Emma realized that if she could hear the voices, she might be able to talk back. One night, she took control of an orderly, mentally willing her to get Emma out of the institution at all costs. Unable to fully control the woman, though, her intentions were taken to the extreme. The hospital burned to the ground that night and many people were injured by the staff member she had unwittingly possessed. This was the first time she used her mutant power on someone else, and she has not looked back since. She returned to her home for a short time, but after rejecting her father's money and realizing that he would never love her like she had always hoped he someday would, she left.
She started out on her own in Boston, vowing she would never ask for anything twice in her life. She worked job after job, and met a young man named Troy. Troy owed money to a gang leader, and this leader kidnapped Troy and Emma. In an attempt to save their skin, Troy offered that they pretend to hold Emma ransom so her father would give them ransom money. Emma's father refused, having disowned her for turning away from their money.
Emma's sister gave the tape to a news station, and when it was played for the whole country to see, Winston Frost had no choice but to comply with the captor's wishes. Emma, who did not yet understand her powers, managed to turn the minds of her captors against each other, and made them think that they had killed each other. She took the ransom money her father had left and moved to New York City.
She used the money to enroll in Empire State University, where she excelled and began to hone her skills as a telepath with the help of another telepath, Astrid. In order to keep Emma as a friend, Astrid caused everyone in Emma's life to wrong her. When Emma found out, she destroyed Astrid's mind and gained all of Astrid's well-trained powers. From there she continued to explore and hone her skills, until there was practically nothing she couldn't do.
Word later reached her that her parents had died in a tragic train wreck in Europe. Emma never once even consciously had the thought that she had accidentally caused the accident, and her parents' deaths. She blocked the connection from her mind, subconsciously protecting herself from the guilt.
She began her path to riches, forging invitations to exclusive black tie events and using the powers of her mind to convince all that she was there legitimately. She telepathically eavesdropped on the thoughts of traders and brokers.
Charles Xavier and Eric Magnus Lehnsherr (Magneto) approached her only a year after leaving the university (at twenty-three years old), and invited her to attend Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, a place for mutants like herself. She declined, however. She was in the prime of her life, and was gaining financial ground fast--and she could not put a halt to that to attend school, despite that she believed that Xavier was doing a very noble thing, teaching the mutant children. It simply was not Emma's world.
From there, her skills and talents provided her with a wealth and style that few outside of living royalty have ever known. Using her powerful meta-human mental abilities, she gained large successful investments and land holdings. Within four years of leaving the university (by age twenty-six), she was a millionaire once again--this time, she had done it all on her own.
Emma's world was one of power. Her shadowy use of her powers propelled her up the ladder of success, and her hunger for power became insatiable. And because no one would ever have thought that anything such as mind powers could be involved, Emma remained an upstanding businesswoman with a pristine reputation.
Emma went after three years to New York, and within three years of living there (at age twenty-five), she was named chairperson of the board of Frost International (renamed in honor of herself) and its chief executive officer. Frost International is principally involved in transportation (both the building of ships and aircraft and their use for freight and passenger transport) and electronics. Emma Frost also became chairperson of the board of trustees of the Massachusetts Academy, a college preparatory school located in the Berkshire Mountains in Snow Valley, Massachusetts. Frost serves as the academy's headmistress and spends a great deal of her time there. The Academy quickly developed a reputation for being the school for wealthy parents to send their children to, and the normal students were a decent cover for the training of the mutant students that she searched out and invited to the school (taking a leaf out of Xavier's book).
In New York, she was approached and invited to join the Hellfire Club--a club of inside elitists of the business world whose quest was world domination in social, political, military and intellectual realms. Her skill and wealth caused her to quickly be named the White Queen of the Hellfire Club. As anti-mutant sentiments became stronger with each passing month, Emma began to search out plans made that would harm the mutant community; she worked to foil the 'cure', but made little headway.
When murmurs of a Brotherhood led by Magneto began to surface throughout an uneasy business world, Emma began to watch their actions closely--but from afar. She agreed with their purpose, but she had her business and her reputation to uphold. She would not so much as send them finances, for fear of being found out and not only ruined but also thrown in jail.
When The Brotherhood used much more outright tactics to destroy the cure, Frost's attention was captivated by the rebel group. She decided to search out any remains of the Brotherhood. If Magneto was gone, she knew, they must be scattered. If she could offer her aid then, at a time when they were so likely to be impressionable, she could not only have a position of power in the Brotherhood, but could assure that her association with them was kept completely secret from the human world.
She planned to use her wealth and power for something much more valuable--to free mutants from the persecution of humans. She planned to offer her business savvy and incredible wealth in carrying out their future plans, as well as many recruits from her school, in return for--what else?--A position of power within the Brotherhood.
Sample post:
((This is about half a year after she left the institution))
'Jon, this is Craig Allermeyer. Craig, Jon Banks.'
Emma would have smirked had she not been carefully concealing any emotion other than polite respect. To see these upstanding businessmen--CEOs and Presidents, all of them--using each other's first names as though they were buddies; It was rich. Especially when Emma barely had to skim the surface of their thoughts to tell what each were thinking about each other.
'Who the hell would ever want to work for this asshole?'
'Is that a Rolex? He¡¦s really rollin¡¦ in it. Rich bastard.'
'Somers was right, I bet that really is a toupee.'
"Oh! And this is my new assistant, Miss Emma Frost. She'll be sitting in on us, getting a feel for how things work around here." Emma took her mind off of their thoughts (it was so easy now it was like flicking a switch) and smiled without hesitation. She shook hands all around, still not opening her mind to their thoughts. She'd rather not hear what they had to say--think, rather--about her. Too many times had it disgusted her and altered her judgement of people. Though it was all too clear in the looks Emma caught in the reflection on the glass windows as she turned to follow Mr. Nicholson, her recently-acquired 'boss', down the hallway.
Minutes later, all sat around a large polished oak table in a meeting room. Emma sat back from the table, against the wall in a barely-comfortable-enough wooden chair, while the men lounged in the best of armchairs. They were discussing merger matters, which Emma was less than interested in. It was not the reason she'd come. As they conversed, concealing their disagreements and insults in carefully worded sentences, Emma focused on each of them in turn. She could have read them all at once, of course, but it was easier one at a time. After all, she had plenty of time--no doubt they'd be through lunch break and still without any major headway.
The first man, Mr. David York, was of no help. He was one step below Craig Allermeyer in the corporate chain-of-command, and kept almost completely in the dark on the matters with which Emma was searching for. No doubt to ensure that they didn't fall into the wrong hands. Of course, Mr. Allermeyer hadn't thought that he would be the one to give away his precious plans--That everything he held in his brain was naked and vulnerable to the unblockable probing of Emma Frost¡¦s mind. So she turned to Mr. Allermeyer, her eyes on the unimportant notes she'd written as she opened up his mind like a book.
Within moments, she had the stock information she needed, as well as the confirmation that he was indeed going about this merger for his own selfish reasons. Emma would, of course, convince Mr. Nicholson of that later, as well as giving the credit for the successful second merger to Miss Frost, whom he would promote without a second thought. But Emma found something much more interesting was on Craig Allermeyer's mind right then.
'Cheating on your wife, Craig? Tsk, tsk,' Emma thought--of course keeping the thought to herself. With effort less than it took to blink, Emma caused Allermeyer to believe without a doubt that his wife would remain out of town for two additional days. In reality, she was due back that night. She paused a moment and simply listened. It didn't take long for Craig to excitedly think of having his mistress over that night. If he hadn't thought it on his own, of course, she would have placed the thought there for him. But men were so easy to predict, even without the mental insight.
As she often did, Emma half-wished that she could be there to see the scene unfold--Craig's wife would arrive home from the airport to find her husband in bed with a woman they knew from church, and poor Craig would find his marriage in ruins. No doubt he would fold the merger in an attempt to mend his broken personal life. She doubted even he could continue his greedy grasping for money, which he had been embezzling for years, with his affair made public.
At the end of the meeting, Emma shook hands again and gave each man a dazzling smile, receiving their compliments humbly. She said goodbye to Mr. Nicholson and made a break for her car at the first opportunity. Once safely inside her car, she pulled off the jacket to the suit she was wearing and kicked off her heels. She pulled the tie that held her hair in its sleek bun, shaking her light blonde locks down across her shoulders. She sped all the way home, anxious to run a bath and soak in it until her fingers and toes started to shrivel. She¡¦d never been pulled over by a policeman before, and she didn't worry at all about it happening ever. Even if she were pulled over, she wouldn't be given a ticket. She'd like to see them try.

She planned to use her wealth and power for something much more valuable--to free mutants from the persecution of humans. She planned to offer her business savvy and incredible wealth in carrying out their future plans, as well as many recruits from her school, in return for--what else?--A position of power within the Brotherhood.
