Appearance: When Caterina was a student at Xavier’s her appearance was completely different. Her own preferences of dressing being her standard ruffled white blouse with black skirts. During her time there her own hair color was completely different, her hair being naturally blonde. In true form, being as she is now, it isn’t known why she changed completely over the years.
When she turned to the Brotherhood, she almost received a reality check. Her hair was changed to black her own appearance changed completely. She started taking things to heart, more than she used to. She traded in her other dress standards for that of wearing black denim jeans with a white ruffled blouse that stops above her abdomen, knee high black leather boots, and black leather jacket.
It is known that she has a black dragon tattoo on her abdomen. She isn’t overly muscular, but she is somewhat, and is considered both athletic and lithe in frame. It in itself is known that she will change appearance when she is angered. Her hair becoming almost silver in color and her eyes becoming green with almost red flames.
Personality: A standard Cancer. She is stubborn, somewhat easy to get along with as well as hard to understand. It isn’t known exactly which parent she got this form or if it was natural event that occurred later in her life. But, it is known that she was hard to get along with after the death of her father. She wasn’t however, affected by the eventual death of her mother years later.
She has a very independent personality, she isn't very quick to make friends or trust people unless it’s Quicksilver or his sister. Most people have to earn her trust, but it appears that once they do, she's a very reliable friend. She is very confident in herself and doesn't let other people make her feel any different. She is very opinionated and doesn't lose arguments often. She can have a very short fuse, and you don't want to make her mad because things can get ugly when she gets mad.
She tends to get away with a lot of things and she loves "mutant" and things anyone who is normal are freaks. They are the ones who can't do anything special. She has talent and isn't afraid to show it off at all. She doesn't believe in helping anyone but herself and her own kind
Powers and Abilities-
Thermal Control: Currently, she is able to control thermal heat such as heat, flame, plasma, radiation, thermokinetic energy, latent heat, gas, thermal atoms and molecules and use them to create a shield that protects all of her. She has recently discovered that she can control steam and often nuclear energy if she near enough to the source of both. The shield that she can create will deflect at the moment medium sized and small things as well as some powers. She is resistant to heat as hot as 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit to 300 degrees Celsius. She can somewhat control this ability with her mind, but is far better at it with her hands. It is known this ability allows her to elevate above the ground, there is no known reason, why, but there has only been one true time that she has been able to do that.
Weaknesses: Her thermal control abilities remain as they are as long as she isn’t in the area of water. The risk with her elevating above ground and the amount of radiation she even releases is the possibility, that if she holds it for too long it could kill her. This ability will weaken her if she uses it for an extended amount of time or longer than a few hours. If this is the case, it could either kill her from the extensive use or knock her unconscious for hours or possibly days.
History: Caterina Joaquima was born in Cambridgeshire, England to Robert and Alexandra Buckingham, the eldest to their two daughters. She was raised in a military family, her father serving in the Royal Marines and her mother an officer in the Royal Navy. Because of this she never truly got to see much of her parents and was around her aunt, Mariana most of her life.
As she grew up she realized why it was she was never truly affected by her parents, but she never revealed it. When she was 10 her mother returned home for good, and about a week later they learned that her father had died in active duty. Her mother moved from their hometown of Cambridgeshire and moved to Vancouver, British Columbia.
At the age of 14 her mother finally realized what she had done wrong, but she realized too late, she was already dying of cancer as it was. A month later when Caterina turned 15, her mother died. She continued her high school education and after three years she graduated early at the age of 17. At this time her powers actually began to show and she fled her home city.
She headed to South Carolina where she enrolled in Columbia College. She spent four years there studying. She graduated at 21 with her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography and BM in Music Performance – Voice. It is known even when she was at Xavier’s that her powers remained under better control when or after dancing them when she doesn’t. It was never revealed why. After she graduated she took a brief job as a performer in music before she attended Elizabeth City State University.
There she spent another 4 years studying, she graduated at age 25 with her Juris Doctorate and BS in Law and her BA in Music. After she graduated she took a year off and spent a year trying to learn her powers. During that year, the X-Men discovered her and Xavier offered to help her control her powers. She agreed and she spent two years there learning her powers.
It was that same year that her, younger sister, discovered their father’s will. Caterina was taken to court over it, but her sister failed. It’s wasn’t known what happened to her sister until a year later. During the battle with Magneto the second year she fled at age 27. The reason she fled has remained somewhat personal. Her sister joined the X-Men a year after she did, and for years the two of them have had a personal hatred for each other. Caterina couldn't stand being around her at all, being that the two of them were equally matched in power.
After this time, at the age of 29, she again ran into the X-Men during the midst of her own personal battles with the Hellfire club. She fled, not feeling like she could truly return to them. But that wasn’t at all due to her own personal issues or her own ideals. Part of it was she truly didn’t believe in their ideals of mutant and human equality. A few months later, in the midst of another battle with the Hellfire club, she joined the Brotherhood, when they appeared.
When in the next battle she again met the X-Men she paused but then continued. She fled after Magneto lost his powers, but she has recently returned because Pyro has called together the former members of the Brotherhood. However, Caterina does on the potential side use her knowledge of law for the brotherhood, when she can.
History of Codename: Caterina got the codename of Sekhmet from her time being at Xaviers. Mainly she got this because of the resemblance she has to the Egyptian goddess Sekhmet. She apparently shares the same blood lust as Sekhmet.
This same blood lust has caused her to sometimes ignore everything else as well. On top of this she is sometimes like Sekhmet as the Eye of Ra. Careful as hell about where she actually goes and what actually happens and she never goes into a trap.
Sample post: Caterina glanced around at the few members of the brotherhood around her. She sighed inwardly, why was it they had to battle the X-Men just now. Rolling her eyes, she barely saw a blast that was sent her way by Cyclops. Closing her eyes, she raised her right hand flicked her wrist, instantly the blast was blocked from hitting her. Meanwhile she heard a gasp from Magneto and his daughter.
She turned swiftly to come face to face with another X-Men, she could understand their worries. Shaking her head she muttered a few words loud enough for everyone to hear. “That was a major mistake” Raising her left hand, her face tilted to the sky and immediately her body was lifted off the ground by her own thermal energy. Opening her eyes, she cast a glare around her, before her gaze landed briefly on the forms of the other brotherhood members.
Raising her left hand, her form pivoted in the air, and she closed her eyes, automatically thermal and geo-thermal radiation began to come off of her in large quantities. Minutes later she floated to the ground and continued her seemingly endless assault, as both lava and mini volcanoes also erupted from the ground. This ended even 30 minutes later when she herself collapsed from exhaustion of using her powers, her own sister and a few of the brotherhood members there barely in time to catch her.
