Appearance: Lorna is a girl with long wild green hair and jade colored eyes. She has tan skin and is a bit under weight. She has an angel wing tattoo on her right shoulder. most normal girl and models for that matter would die to have. When it comes to clothes Lorna believes if you got it, flaunt it. She is usually dressed in leather or denim usually in black. Usually in a grungy punk whip and chain fashion. Her outfits include lots of metal jewelry that she can turn into weapons with her powers. At all times she has two one inch blades attached to her ankles.
Personality: She had a hard life, and she's experienced difficult events, but still she got a little more innocence and cocky enthusiasm left. On the surface she appears to be a laid back good time party girl. She presents herself as being strong and confident in her actions and decisions, one might even say she does everything with a cocky swagger. But this is all an act, a front to cover up feelings and perceptions of being inadequate, being unloved and being unworthy
She's always been a loner and survivor, and has to learn to tone down on looking out for number one so not to step on anyone's toes. Despite not being always being a team player Lorna wants to be apart of something bigger then herself. Lorna wants to prove herself to herself and the world that she isn‘t worthless.
Powers: Magnetism- can conduct magnetic energy as pulse bolts, force fields, flight, and the manipulation of ferrous materials, absorb electricity to supercharge her own electromagnetic fields. Her own magnetic field is the opposite charge then Magneto. Polaris can levitate metallic objects and create force fields in which she can suspend persons or objects in the air and in which she can protect them from attacks from outside the fields. She can also overload or short-circuit electrical systems. By concentrating, Polaris can perceive the world around herself solely as patterns of magnetic and electrical energy. She can perceive the natural magnetic auras surrounding living beings, as well.
Weaknesses: To use her powers to there full scope Lorna needs to focus. Her mental status depends on her power level, the stronger her powers are the more she becomes mentally unstable. Her powers flare when she is upset or excited.
History: Lorna was born in Long Island, New York. Her mother died in a mysterious plane crash during an old electrical storm that left the plane ripped in two and magnetictized, while she was still just a newborn. She was taken in and adopted by her mother's sister Tiffany and her husband Jordan.
In the beginning her life was a quiet surbanian dream. Despite the fact her parents never told her of her adoption she knew she wasn't like her older sister Zale. Where the other girl was shower with attention, Lorna was barely tolerated and ignored.
Lorna did everything she could to get notice. She tried being extremely good and getting good grades. This didn’t seem to work, her parents just ignored her. Then she went to the other extreme and started to rebel. She stopped dying her hair brown, going against her mother’s protest. The more she acted out and her grades dropped the more her parents fought and argued with her, but the negative attention was better then no attention.
Then things took another twist and turn. Lorna started to have trouble keeping her watch working and radio shorted out around her. She really didn’t think much of it till one day at school her powers fully blossomed. She was walking down the hall to detention when all the lockers flew open and everything with metal begun to fly towards her. Lorna didn’t know what was happening, she just fell to her knees and covered her head crying.
She wasn’t able to stop her powers. To stop her the school called the authorities. The police took her down with a tranquilizer gun and took down town. When her parents were called they told them they wanted nothing to do with her. Lorna freak when they told her and when she freaked her powers once again went crazy.
Before they could tranquilize her again, she heard a voice in her head. It was Xavier; her earlier burst of powers caught the attention of cerebro. Xavier calmed her down and afterwards offered her a place at the school. Lorna first refused but quickly realize that she had no place else to go. Defeated Lorna went back to New York with Xavier.
Lorna, because of how here parents reacted to her powers and being at a place she didn’t really fit in, has been sullen and depress since moving into the school. She hasn’t really made many friends and has spent a lot of her time being reprimanded and in trouble.
Shortly after her arrival at the school the news off ‘the cure’ came out. Lorna was uninterested in being ’cured’ and instead wanted to train and build her powers, believing if she train with her power that she can prove to her parents that it was a mistake to turn their back on her. When she heard news of Xavier she was crushed. She believed he was the only one who cared and wanted her there.
Likes: Men, Freedom, Old WW II planes, danger, walking the line, dance, party, have a good time, getting in trouble, chucky peanut butter, chocolate, singing, pigs (the animal kind), caffeine, sugar. She rested her head against the windowpane as she tried to think. She couldn’t understand why in a place so big there was never anything entertaining to do. At this point in time she was almost bored enough to do her English Lit. paper.
She sighed settled back, her eyes slid off the rainy outside world to the rest of the rec room. She sighed heavily wishing she was back home in Long Island. Her parents and sister may hate her and ignored her but at least she had a few friends she could hang out with.
The green haired mutant rested her head back against the wall and closed her eyes. She moved her wrist as she try to think listened to the jingle of her many metal bangle bracelets. Over the clanking of metal came the television. “Since the destruction of the Alcatraz facility the mutant cure has come hard to come. Some desperate families are pay…”
Lorna didn’t let the newscaster finished. She threw one of her bracelets charged with electro-magnetic energy at the screen cause the picture to static out then make a popping noise before going to black.
“Hey! I was watching that!” Cried out an outraged young mutant, who looked no older then ten.
Lorna simply shrugged as she rose to her feet. “I am doing you a favor, kid. That stuff will rot your brain.” She said with a smirk as she strolled towards the door.
