Appearance: Sean has the typical physical characteristics of an Irishman: red hair and green eyes. Of course, his hair has a bit of brown to it, not to mention it's dark, probably because of his mother's partial Polish heritage. He is a rather physically attractive male in perfect health, with nicely sculpted arms and abs. He has a sense of fashion, which has led to some remarks about his sexuality. Often he'll wear a plain t-shirt with some sort of cargo or jean pants.
Personality: Sean is usually well-mannered due to his royal background. He was taught from a young age to respect his elders and to treat people the way that he wanted to be treated.
Due to the way his life has gone, coupled with his Irish blood, he can have a bit of a mean streak. He has a bit of a temper, largely believed to be because of his cousin taking everything he loved away from him.
Powers and Abilities: Banshee's vocal muscles are extremely strong and malleable, which result in a variety of abilities. Most notably, he can fly on the soundwaves of his voice. His scream can also be used concussively, which can repel, weaken, shatter, or even liquify physical objects and attacks and some energy attacks. His scream can puncture through virtually any substance short of adamantium. His soundwaves can also be used as sonar, allowing him to map his surroundings. His voice can even alter a variety of wavelengths to disrupt communication, television, and radio waves, which allows him to confuse scanning equipment.
His voice can also alter a person's mind. It is possible for him to render people unconscious simply by speaking to them. His scream can cause people to go deaf for a varying amount of time, depending on how high he screams, and he can also make people feel nauseous or dizzy.
Banshee is also able to subtly influence and control others with his voice, along with causing them to enter a state of trance. With a certain pitch of his voice, he can mentally stimulate a person, causing them to "fall in love" with him without regard to gender or sexual orientation. Often a person will find themselves trusting him and willing to do anything for him. A lot of the time, this power is subconscious as, combined with his attractive physical looks, it gives him a very charming exterior.
He can instinctively analyze, replicate, and block sonic waves or vibrations from other sources. He can also block out certain sounds in the environment so that a person can hear only him.
His hearing is also superhuman as a result. He can block out various sounds and hear over great distances. He's also highly resilient to intense sound and his body is especially durable against sonic-based attack.
Weaknesses: Despite his abilities, he is only slightly stronger and more durable than an ordinary human. Pretty much anything that will stop a normal human will stop him. Also, a sharp enough blade can slice his vocal cords, which completely takes away his powers.
History: Sean Cassidy was born in Cassidy Keep, a rather large castle on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. The Keep had been constructed by Sean's ancestors one thousand years ago on top of Cassidy Crag to defend against Viking attackers, and the Cassidy clan had been there ever since. With a small town nearby, Sean had a rather splendid life, where money wasn't an object. Everything was good.
Until his thirteenth birthday.
Sean's cousin, Tom Cassidy, through a legal loophole, took control of the entire Cassidy fortune, including Cassidy Keep. Sean's mother left the family due to their apparent poverty. Contacting some people he knew, the elder Cassidy and his son moved to the United States, taking up residence in a small Midwestern town. Sean's father found work at an automotive shop as a mechanic while Sean washed dishes. In the span of a year, a very wealthy family went from being at the top of Ireland to the bottom of the United States's social class.
Things began to look up when Sean's mutant ability manifested. Practically overnight, he found that he could sing better than anybody in his school choir. He was able to pick up money by singing at various clubs and venues around his town. Professor Charles Xavier approached him and his father about joining his Institute, but Sean surprisingly declined. His father was in failing health and he had recently risen to manager of the auto shop. Sean felt that he had to stay and watch his father.
When M-Day happened, with the battle on Alcatraz Island, Sean was amazed by what he saw on the news. His father promised that he'd be alright, with his employees watching him. With his father in capable hands, Sean went to New York, to the Xavier Institute.
