Appearance: Paige Guthrie is a blonde haired, blue eyed bombshell with long legs and a fit body. Her hair comes down to the middle of her back, and is usually worn down. Soulful eyes and full lips give her an air of innocence, but she's even more beautiful when she's angry.

Paige usually sports a long red coat (with matching gloves), the sleeves almost always rolled up. Under that, shes got a black tank top and mini skirt on. Grey stockings with black boots finish the ensemble. When she's dressed down, she wears an oversized flannel shirt and loose-fitting pants, a little something to remind herself of home.

Personality: Paige is a strong willed and independent person. She doesn't want to be coddled or handled with kid gloves because she's just as strong as anyone else. Paige also happens to be an over-achiever, pushing herself hard and dedicating her energies to get her farther in anything she does. She constantly wants to prove herself as capable, but may sometimes appear like a show-off. She has strong work ethics and respects effort and hard work while frowning upon laziness. She hates being taken for a hick, and is working on losing her Kentucky accent.

Powers and Abilities: Paige can shed her skin to reveal a fresh new layer of skin or a skin made of glass, acidic substance, wood, rubber, various stones, various metals, and other various substances. She has full mobility in any skin form and can feel nothing while in skin that is not organic. Any wounds that are skin deep are removed when a new layer of skin emerges. She has an internal clock that tells her how long she's been in a certain form.

When she pouts, people find it hard to resist giving in to her.

Weaknesses: Paige can only stay in a certain skin(not including her natural one) for about an hour. If she exceeds the time limit, she automatically sheds her current skin into her natural skin. When she's forced back to normal, she'll have to wait a few minutes before she can change her skin again. If she sheds her skin while wearing normal clothes, the clothes are ripped to shreds due to getting caught in the molecular activity of disattaching the layer of skin from Paige's body. Any wounds she receives that go deeper than her skin cannot be shed away because only her skin is renewed. Her powers do not extend to the internal organs.

History: Paige was born in Kentucky as the second oldest child in a family of 12. Because her parents were always busy with the younger children, Paige turned to her older brother Samuel for a role model. When it turned out that Sam was a mutant, Paige immediately wanted to be one too. When she finally got fed up with waiting, she yelled to the night sky, and thats when her mutant gene was triggered. Paige didn't fully understand her powers, but she embraced it completely.

Because her family had already gone through Samuel being a mutant, they accepted Paige for who she was and continued to love her. Even with her mutant powers, she managed to lead a relatively normal life. During the first few months of her mutant self manifesting, Paige would unexpectedly find herself in a new skin. During that time, she realized she was left naked after shedding her skin, and quickly gained control over her powers to avoid any more accidents. This happened during the Summer season, allowing Paige to avoid having her peers discover what she was. Not that she was ashamed of being a mutant or anything, but she had a keen understanding that the people of Kentucky did not take kindly to things that were 'out of the ordinary.'

It was only until after high school that she discovered a place entirely for mutants. (News doesnt travel very fast to Kentucky.) Eager to be in a place where she could maybe understand herself better, she left to join Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters.

Likes: boys, people who work hard, accomplishing her goals, reading, chocolate, being treated with respect

Very cool! I'm a little confused about her powers, though, in this part:

When she sheds into something else, Paige actually becomes that substance. If she sheds a layer of gold off, the skin left behind is gold.

I thought each time she sheds, she can choose what is underneath. So after a layer of gold, couldn't she choose to have wood underneath? Can she choose? And then, you said she can only stay for an hour. So after an hour what happens? The layer automatically sheds off and then she's back to skin?

Also, what happened to her after she came to Xavier's? How long has she been there? Tell us more about her history.

She can choose whats underneath when she sheds, but she can only stay in one particular skin for so long, then she reverts back to normal skin. the time limit is renewed whenever she sheds though, so she can stay diamond for 55 minutes, then turn to lead for another hour.

Well, I was going to have her just arrive now as a new student now. Will that be a problem?

Is it just her skin that's the substance? Or is her body internally the substance? i.e. - if her skin is steel, she can still get shot by anything that's armor-piercing, that would normally go through an inch of steel. Right?

As for arriving as a new student, that's fine, but she'll get seriously lost in the bustle of Baltimore if she comes today ; ).

I ended up taking it out, cause for the life of me, what I was trying to communicate no longer made sense.

What I was trying to say was that her different forms werent like collossus's, and that she acquired all the attributes of whatever she was, and when it was all shed from her body, it continued to remain as whatever it was, and not revert back to normal skin. I felt it wasnt necessary information. if she's one thing, she's that thing.

Ohhhhh, the skin left behind - like, if she wanted money, she could make her skin gold and then shed it and she'd have bits of gold?

Does the skin she sheds dry up, like a snake? Is it in big pieces like a snake too? Or does it crumble? It probably depends on what substance it is?

As for the snake skin idea, didnt really think of that. I think if its a hard material like glass, she might be able to just step out of it, and leave a glass sculpture of herself standing around. Or shed the skin in as large of pieces as possible. So shrivelling up wouldnt really make sense. Unless the skin was made soft for a short period of time to allow removal, in which case, the skin would shrivel up to an extent, then reharden.

But I dont think the skins would crumble, unless the actual material crumbled.
