Name: Julio Esteban Richtor
Codename(s): Rictor, Number Six
Affiliation: Currently none.
Age: 22
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 180lbs
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Green
Appearance: Rictor recently had his head shaved bald by a Mutant hating group that captured him, and since his recent escape it has grown back little. His green eyes are narrow and intensely bright, and he rarely smiles. His skin is tanned, both through genetics and working outside. His right arm has the tattoo VI. It's obvious he's lived a hard-working life lately, and his body is well-toned, if not well-fed.
He favors military-esque garb, wearing dark blue jeans or dark khaki shorts, with either black sweaters/jackets, or a plain black t-shirt.
Personality: Rictor is an incredibly intense and angry young man. The world around him has gone to hell, and he’s reacting in extreme ways to it. His emotions run high, whatever they may be. He does have a sense of humor, though these days it's often dark and at the expense of human victims. Rictor often gets drunk with other mutants, and becomes overly goofy and smiley (and honestly has a good time, though he'll later deny it).
Powers and Abilities:
Seismic Energy – Power is initiated through touch. Creates powerful seismic waves through an object, causing it to shatter or explode. If his powers are used on a larger surface like a street, a building, or the ground, it creates an effect similar to shockwaves from an earthquake. With enough concentration and time, Rictor can open and close rifts in the earth. Using his power over a long period of time is exhausting to Rictor, and while he can use it in small amoutns almost indefinitely, a large effort will physically drain him.
Criminal Knowledge: Rictor was raised by an arms dealer, and so he knows a good deal about dealing guns and how to use them, as well as other shady dealings such as drug dealing and smuggling.
Bilingual: Rictor is fluent in English and Spanish.
Weaknesses:
Rictor must be touching an object in order to use his power on it. His power can also cause unintentional problems, as the seismic activity often causes structural damage to the areas surrounding him.
History:
Rictor was born in Mexico, though he doesn’t know the exact place. He doesn’t know his mother either, though he’s fairly certain she was a prostitute. His father was an arms dealer who traveled both Mexico and the Southwest United States frequently, and Rictor never knew a real home. His father took him from whomever his mother was, and Rictor always knew that it was only because he was a boy. He had no doubt his father would have left a daughter far behind him.
When he was eight years old, Rictor discovered his father was a mutant. His father had the power to read people’s emotions, an ability he used against his partners in crime, garnering better deals and manipulating his clients.
At some point - Rictor doesn't know when - his father’s powers were discovered by others, and they felt they had been cheated and treated unfairly. However accurate that may have been, it was really their fear of an unknown and frightening truth that caused their betrayal – they attacked and murdered Rictor’s father right in front of the young boy.
Rictor ran away, and grew up on the streets of Los Angeles, discovering his own exciting powers and using them when he had to – or wanted to. He hated humans for what they had done to his father – in his eyes, his father had done no wrong, and was killed just because of who he was. Rictor suffered similar hatred from fellow runaways and gangs in LA – he was too reckless with his powers, and was often discovered and chased out of wherever he was staying.
It wasn’t long before mutants were appearing in increasing numbers around the globe. And just as quickly, Anti-Mutant groups formed, seeking out and harassing innocent mutants. On the street and off the grid, Rictor wasn’t sought by these increasingly organized groups...Until he went looking for them, that was.
Rictor found a group in San Fransisco called “The Right”, a religious pro-human group that had been victimizing and harassing San Fransiscan mutants for about a year. Recently, three mutants had disappeared without a trace, and Rictor was sure that The Right had something to do with it. At the age of nineteen, the hot-headed Rictor ran straight into the church where The Right congregated and accused them outright of the kidnappings. He began to use his powers on the floor of the church, buckling the wooden floor boards and overturning pews and people. Planning on bringing the whole building down with everyone inside, Rictor was concentrating on using his powers on a grand scale for the first time – he was paying too much attention to the representation of the group and not enough to the group members themselves. It wasn’t long before one of them snuck up behind him and shot him in the back with a taser pistol.
Rictor awoke some time later, naked, his head shaved, his hands bound. On his right arm, he found a black tattoo that simply said VI. He knew immediately what it meant – not only was he the sixth mutant they had done this to, but they planned on doing it to thousands more.
The time Rictor spent in captivity with the Right is something he refuses to talk about to anyone. All he will say is that he escaped less than a year ago, just after the release of the Cure drug. Through his experiences with humans, Rictor has developed an immediate hatred for anyone not Homo Superior. He has heard of Magneto’s horrible downfall, and longs for the Brotherhood of old.
He believes the present Brotherhood isn’t making their agenda known. They’re hiding out, striking like guerrillas, when they should be ruling the world.
He believes it’s time for a change...
Likes: Indie rock, especially by mutant singers (and any anti-Human music sounds great to him). Sunny days. Hard work.
Dislikes: Humans. Current world governments. Having his picture taken. Pennies (he likes to explode them however).
Note: If there’s any worries about me not being able to keep up with another character, as there were in the past, please consider this: Sabretooth is going to be out of commission for a long time. So, in the meantime, this is (hopefully) my new bad guy. Those of you from OW know I love me some bad guys.
