Splitting Boards

Okay, I know we've talked about splitting North America into parts, because so much happens in New York and Baltimore that they really need their own boards. I wanted to bring that up again, I think it's really important that it happen, because every board down to the bottom of the first page is marked 'NEW'. And even almost every board on this page is new. Half the boards are running away with posts, and threads are being lost which results in lots of people not reading stuff because they don't realize they missed it.

Maybe the Main Board here could have like new topics and then a place where older discussions, especially ones that are closed, go for retirement benefits. They can play bingo and shuffleboard and break their hips!

And I think North America would be fine if we broke at least New York off from everything else, because soooo much happens in NY here. And maybe Baltimore as well, though I don't know how much is going on there since the Baltimore Cure Party (Boston Tea Part, get it? Didn't think so ;D) is over.

Just a thought. The topic is on the floor for discussion, ladies and gentlemen of Pangress. Congress + Panacea. Just go with it. I'm in a rambly mood.

Nothing like an alternative opinion.

How about simply starting each thread with the location such as:

[BALTIMORE] Title
[NEW YORK] Title

Etc.

Much less clunky.

I'd agree with keeping it just one board on the basis that I don't think it's necessary to split them up quite so much. It's okay if we have 5 or 6 threads in one place; that's why it's a board. Or if anything, put sub-boards on North America. The front page is crowded as it is.

well, we could probably get rid of all the continental boards but NOrth America, and have a "Rest of the World" board. Basically replace all the country boards with parts of the US. "Washington" "New York" "South" "West Coast" "North" and "Rest of East Coast" something like that.

No one but Dead Pool posts on the other boards anymore, lol.

I'd really, really like to see a location on the title of threads. I have no clue why, but it helps me a lot. Times and dates at the start of every thread and then ending times do as well.

The title thing is a good and simpler idea. But theres still the problem of posts getting lost in the masses, though.
