Hey, I'm just writing a post in which Angie's doing a bit of recon around the NovaTex building, and I'm wondering about a few details before I post.
Are the guards going to have cure weapons, or not? I figure that there'd be mostly NovaTex employees guarding the place, probably some undercover military courtesy of Trask, and a few Baltimore cops. Does that sound right to everyone? We've already established that there's going to be protestors and people already waiting for the cure, but I wanted to clarify what sort of security forces would be around, bar the sentinels.

Are there going to be people lined up for the cure already? Right now we've established that it's May 19th, and the cure doesn't start distribution until the 23rd.
Thanks for writing this post though, because I also want to know - what kind of building is it? Tall and futuristic-fancy? Short like Worthington?

Right, NovaTeX is based in a building that used to be a hospital, so it's not terribly imposing or impressive. There's an underground connecting tunnel that connects the main building to the old mortuary, which is now where the stocks of Cure are stored.
Yes, people will already be gathering, people who are both for and against the Cure, protesting during the day and into the evening, and those waiting for the Cure camping overnight.
And yes, I'm going to take the executive decision and say that SOME of the guards will be carrying Cure weapons, but not all of them.

Yeah, I figured people would start showing up straight away - those close by first, and then closer to the release date more and more from further away who feel that they have to be there. We saw the sort of crowds there were at Worthington Labs' distribution centre in the film, and there were lines down the street. I think it's safe to say that anyone who wants the cure this time around will try to show up early, to get in quickly and hopefully avoid another incident like Pyro's little fireworks display Just wanted to clarify on security, so cheers. All sounds good to me, so I'm going to run with it - I can edit later if anyone thinks that it doesn't sound right.

I would have said that nobody should be carrying cure weapons.
The whole reason the Sentinels arn't kitted out with them, or in fact any lethal weaponry at all is because of the Mutant Rights bill.
El Pres will be wanting to stay mutant friendly on this one after the Alcatraz debacle I'm thinking.
Any non-standard weapons would be the dart firing pacifiers that were used in X2. They'd be wanting to keep things as orderly as possible.
Of course, I could be talking rubbish, but that's me ;D

I agree-gree with the Traskman. Even using the cure weapons on the criminals last time turned out to be a big no-no. And by the way, when you said El Pres I swear I went 'Elvis Presley?' for like half a second. -shakes head-
