Rules: read 'em, follow 'em, keep me happy.
1. Swearing is allowed, but try to keep it "in character" and not in excess.
2. No killing anyone else’s character; no playing anyone else’s character without their permission; and try to keep the "maiming to within an inch of their life" at a minimum.
3. We do "bubble" - that is, all of our in character rp takes place over the course of a month, and you can play more than one scene from that month at a time. When we all agree, we move on to the next month.
4. No off topic discussions. A few random OT (off topic) or OOC (out of character) comments if you think of something while typing is fine, but I don’t want long conversations going on where role playing should be. There is an Out Of Character board for this stuff.
5. No power plays. I want to make sure that NO ONE (including me - and you can let me know if I start to do it) uses power plays to get in control. If you’re up against someone (or many someones) who are more powerful than your character, then deal with it... live and learn and take some more fighting lessons.
6. DO NOT PLAGIARIZE! While Wikipedia is a good starting point for bio information, it is not by any means the difinitive source of everything X-men. The point of this game (and others like it) is to make the character your own. Thus, anyone caught plagarizing Wiki (or any other site for that matter) will have their bio denied and locked. If you don't have the skills to write the bio in your own words then you don't have the skills to play here, sorry.
7. Read your post before you post it! Read it out loud! If it sounds funny (grammar-wise), or you forgot to explain something that no one else is going to understand... re-write it! This will avert much confusion in the game and will help everyone to play nice. If I can't understand your post, I will simply ignore it until I can.
8. Post content is a must! Don’t just answer someone's question, build your character up a bit... What are they thinking? What aren't they telling? Did they remember something, or is their body language changing? What do their surroundings look like? Let us know! Absolutely no one-line posts or we will have to make a rule for a minimum number of lines in each post, and I hate rules like that.
9. DON'T INTERRUPT! If you were talking to someone in real life, and I just interrupted with some stupid unrelated comment, you would be pretty peeved, no? Well the same goes here. If it's important and you must tell them, you may interrupt... but if you're just listening in and suddenly get an idea and blurt it out, that's just plain rude.
10. Please include storyline notes in your posts. If your post starts somewhere else, or even in another post on the same board, make note of it at the beginning by surrounding it with parentheses. It will help players who did not see your original post keep up with the storyline.
11. Try to keep the Mary-Sues to a minimum. Your character doesn't have a harder life than every single other person on earth, they don’t need to be an attention-whore, and pulling random objects out of thin air is a big no-no.
12. You must respect the wishes of all mods and admin! We can and will kick your sorry tuckus out of here if you don't! I've done it before and I'd rather not do it again.
13. If you don't post for two weeks without telling us why you aren't posting, I will be very perturbed at you. And you'd better hope no one else wants your character, because they'll be going back on the 'available' list until you can explain why you disappeared.
14. Please advertise this site!!! Thank you.
15. Last but not least: Have fun, play hard, and email me if you have any problems or questions!
