Okay. So in thinking about what we’re doing going forward, I decided to jump on the conversations we’ve all had here and there about training. People seemed to really like the idea of having assigned trainers for the X-Men- it gives people a good reason to RP with character pairings they may not have otherwise, and it kind of organizes the whole training situation. Now, I left out characters I believed to be 18 and under. If anyone’s over 18 and I missed them, let me know. It was my perception that minors were not likely eligible to be X-Men for obvious reasons. Let me know if anyone has a problem with this; this is just a proposal after all. I also left out Storm, as the player is not active currently and Storm likely has a lot to do behind the scenes with the school anyway. I also left Iceman off the list because we’re not sure how long it will take him to get out of his debacle. By the time he gets back there will no doubt be a trainee for him. I matched up SOME trainers and trainees based on similar powers(Conduit and Forge) for example- others are likely personality meshes or just plain interesting match ups. Northstar & Cannonball Domino & Shadowcat Sunfire & Colossus Skin & Nightcrawler Conduit & Forge Sam & Wolverine Husk & Gambit Maggot & Angel Elixir & Bishop Give me your thoughts. Of course I don’t mean to say that these are the only people these characters are taught by; it’s a bit like having a mentor. Someone to whom the younger/inexperienced character can go to with issues, etc. I know some of the ‘teachers’ are either younger or not super experienced with the X-Men(Angel, Gambit, Bishop, Kitty) but I think there are good reasons to have those individuals in their places. I’ve already discussed this with Sarah and she thought it was pretty cool too. Votes?

Have to get someone for Liam.
Well... don't have to... but it would be nice.
Pretty please?
(Cool icon, by the way.)

Danke. Sometimes it takes a few tries before you find the right PB for the character. Liam's over 18? I'm a retard, sorry. I had ticked him off the list. And I noticed you have two characters linked and one of the pairs is off. As well CK has said that Domino isn't interested in being an X-Man(player, please let me know if he's incorrect!) so here's some juggling: Northstar & Cannonball Maggot & Shadowcat Sunfire & Colossus Skin & BishopConduit & Forge Sam & Wolverine Husk & Gambit Crypt& Angel Elixir & NightcrawlerI put Crypt & Angel together cause I thought it might work better than with Kitty... not sure how Maggot and Kitty are going to work out either but hey, sometimes mismatches work out in the end. We can always trade that around if any of the players have a better idea. Skin and Bishop could be cool because of the streetwise/military cross over, and after looking at it Elixir and Nightcrawler could potentially end up in some really interesting conversations. Keep it coming. I figure if there are no more requests, Logan can incorporate this when he gets to that point- sometime soonish since CK was planning on it anyway.

Question: Is the Sam mentioned mine or are there three Sams at the mansion? Also, not that I mind training her if it is her (though she will probably drive Wolverine batshit crazy), she's 15.
And we can put Domino back in if we end up needing an extra trainer. I'd like to play her, but I don't mind either way so long as everyone who really really really wants a character in gets theirs.

My only complaint: Did you really have to put Husk and Gambit together?
Lol! I'll survive. Bobby might have a problem with it.
Plus: If there will be some official posting of things, as no one knows Jubes hasnt got her powers, she'd be on the list as well. It could give her the opportunity to say "Okay, to tell you the truth..." etc etc.
And when Bobby gets back, he better get partnered up with someone. Maybe some hot new chick ;D Lol!

Okay CK brought up a good point. Sunfire doesn't NEED training. He's captain badass, Dharma's uglier, less talented, good robot him. *ahem*
So he likely doesn't need training and to top it off, Colossus may just be busy teaching little kids. Awww.
Took Sam off the list, that frees up Wolverine to go with Maggott(which CK wanted to see) instead of Shadowcat, who is a bit young to be training.
We're going to take Northstar & Cannonball off the list because their prior experience leaves them open to instant membership as an X-Man.
So here's the revised list:
Maggot & Wolverine Skin & Bishop Conduit & Forge Husk & Gambit Crypt & Angel Elixir & Nightcrawler

I'm going to PM just about everyone about this with Logan, addressing them in game over PM's so I don't get tied up on the board one at a time.
This is an awesome set up!

Awesome idea (and stunning new icon). My thoughts while I was reading through the posts:
Angel: So...ummm, where are your wings? Maggott: ...I got slugs?
then
Kitty: And this is how you phase through walls! Maggott: What through walls? Kitty: Phase...can you...phase? Maggott: ...I got slugs?
Anywho, I'm glad I ended up with Wolvie. Should be a great combo, and hopefully Wolverine can teach Maggott some lessons about dealing with anger and pain.
Does Storm get a student? And Alani (Loa) totally wants to be an X-Man, and she's the same age as Kitty.
*Alani throws covers over her head and pouts*
*Eany tries to fly while Meany keeps trying to phase through a wall*

Storm's player has not been active enough to be given a trainee at this point. We figured she'd be too busy running the school to give the individual attention a trainee may need.
We have to keep in mind that people under 18 in the United States are still minors. The line HAS to be drawn somewhere, and it's precisely why I didn't make some of my characters younger. You can go to war- but the XMen are not a military organization. This is still a school, and I'm more than certain if Bobby hadn't thrown his little hissy fit in the basement(see the extended footage for that bit of cheez), Kitty would have been left at the mansion. We have mentioned Junior XMen in the past- maybe we should set that up?
Personally, I think it would be a GREAT opportunity for Alani to prove that the age rule might not always be fair.
But this is just my opinion. If more people object, hey, it's not my show.

Don't taunt me with the extended scenes when I have to wait two whole weeks for the DVD to come out here! *cries* Happy to play with Liam, as always - hot boys with wings must stick together.

Haha! Bobby kicked butt there. Don't let me hear anyone sayin' Bobby doesn't know what he's doing as an X-Man. He is SO passionate about it. I loved that scene! Hahaha! *huggles Bobs*

Heya! This is a cool idea, I'd like to be in on it if you have a partner for Storm. 'Ro's backing off somewhat from running the X-Men, so actually she will have more time, and I'm back to play and all. : )
It'd be cool to have a system for the X-Trainees/students to learn too, but that doesn't have to be related to this. We've already kind of discussed that, with program levels and schedules for students to use the Danger Room.

Once Jubes lets everyone know she's cured, she's going to want hand-to-hand combat, too, I forgot to mention.

Well, she'd need some impressively intense training to get up to speed with skills. I can understand the X-Men letting a non-mutant on board who was a master of kung fu, or a war veteran or something... You need to hurry up and have her powers come back! =P
