Let me say this, for anyone who isn't on C03, and hasn't heard of reading the rules for Proboards before signing up:
If you *purposefully* put in a wrong birthdate just to make a new account that we won't immediately know is you, that's breaking the rules.
If you are going to put in a wrong birthday, it had better be an accident. And if you give yourself Karma, you will be ridiculed and then banned. Its pathetic, stupid, and I don't tolerate shit like that.

Uhm... what if the first time we joined the board, we upped our age by a year on the fear that the board would ban our IP address automatically since we weren't 18, seeing as it's happened before and we liked the look of the board?
And therefore have another account that says 17?
But we promise we're sorry?

*smacks forehead* It only automatically bans you if you're under 13 I think. But, that's not really the same thing as what I'm talking about. For some reason, the past two weeks at my games, people keep purposefully making accounts that are supposed to look like different people, which is very not cool. But mostly, you are a good RPer, so you can get away with more

I know it wasn't the same thing, but like, if it came up "hey, you totally have two different ages going on" in a few months or something, I wouldn't want to look like I was doing anything weird.
Hurrah!

There is so much more to getting yourself banned than just putting a wrong age in. I mean I did that accidentally.
Mostly, in this case, it's about pretending you're someone other than who you are. When we take applications, we ask you to put down whether you're the same as someone else who plays or who has already applied (Don't we? We should if we don't.). If you're lying to try to fake US out about something - karma, identity, whatever - that's fodder for being banned.
