Dear Friend,
Everyone thinks they have the cure. They think that they can take a group of people and fix them, or - barring that - destroy them, so their failures wont stare them in the face any longer. It isn't a new concept, but it will continue to mutate, like everything else, to fit the situation. The Romans persecuted the Visigoths, Hitler persecuted the Jews, and the Inquisition persecuted everyone. It's the "cry witch" mentality of the Salem Trials - it’s a way to place your problems on a scapegoat and try to bury them with your enemy.
Magneto tried years ago to cure the world by making them into mutants. Worthington tried to cure it by making them all human. But I've been a mutant, and I've been a human, and now I know that Storm was right: there is nothing to cure.
The panacea, the cure-all, is simply to live life to your best ability.
I'm trying, my friend. I'm trying.
