My efforts to gain Bobby, Kitty, and Pete full X-Men status in the very near future:
On the official X3 website, in the character profiles for Iceman it says: 'Upgraded to full team member status following destruction at Alkali Lake'.
Colossus and Shadowcat's each say, "Status as a full-fledged member of the X-Men remains unknown". But they were in the same battle as Iceman, and in this rp they've been training just as long as he has, so in my opinion it's safe to assume they should be given the same status.
After all, in the rp they've all three been training for, what, a year? After the big battle. I think that that's enough training to become full X-Men.
Now, someone brought up the very good point that the three are all under twenty-one, which is probably what is keeping them from full member status. But I pointed out, John is only twenty and he's head of the entire Brotherhood!
All five members!!!
But my point is there that experience doesn't neccessarily come with age. Kitty, Bobby, and Peter all did very well in the battle at Worthington Labs, when they were all still in high school! I just think that maybe they've earned full X-Men member status.
kthnxbye,
- Katie

Allow me to disagree on at least one point: Colossus I can understand being a full-fledged X-Man here, as he's 23. Bobby, while pushing it, does seem to have the experience required, and he's 19.
Kitty is only 16 here. That makes her considerably younger than Colossus and 3 years younger than Bobby. She will have had less experience with her mutant powers, less training in battle simulation (as I highly doubt we start throwing kids into the danger room at 13), and while there is less drama in her life, she would still be at a slightly lower level of maturity and education. So while I see little reason for Pete and Bobby not to be members, I think Kitty is still too young.

*points up* What he said.
Perhaps we should make the age limit 18. Like being drafted?
(Then again, Animaux ages more quickly than others, so uh... hmm.)

Maybe it's a status awarded on pure merit alone - and Kitty did display extraordinary courage and ability at Alcatraz. So it's possible that she's unofficially an X-Man, but on a probationary basis until she's 18 and on the understanding that she is 'reserve' choice for teams.

I agree-gree with--ooh I just thought of another nickname!! Muwaha, but I'll save it. -files it away-
I agree-gree with Pyro, old buddy, old pal.
And I whole-heartedly agree with you, Storm, on the age limit being 18. I still think that Kitty should definently be that kind of X-Man-In-Training, like we were talking about all three of them being before. Like a Junior status?
As for Animaux...Has she been training and stuff? And for how long? I think they'd go by her life cycle since she ages faster...But that's tricky. But I think as long as she's had enough training, they'd have her join when she's eighteen according to her life cycle.

I think we're all pretty much on accord here.

Yep *nods at Kurt*
I've been calling the training kids X-Prentices, but that's not hard and fast because it hasn't come up in RP yet, so if anyone has a better name let me know. ; )
As far as Animaux, I like the way you think Icey *nods* although it's kinda moot because she HASN'T had nearly enough training. So there ya go ; ).

*watches Kitty being bapped about like a volleyball*
Not that it matters, since I agree. But I think some sort of personal choice would be involved, right? Kitty bakes cookies on her days off. I'm not sure she'd want to be an X-Man, even if she were eligible to be one. However, I think the probationary thing is good, because she'd feel she had to go along with the training in order to justify her staying at the Mansion, whether or not it was acutally required. But she's definitely not a full one.

Personal choice would definitely be involved.
We WERE going to shanghai students into the X-Men team, but decided against it.
