Chasing Nightmares
The beginning of the end.
It was time to go after the demon that had killed Mary Winchester, the mother of Dean and Sam and wife to John Winchester. After finding out that Daniel Elkins, a mentor to John, had the special gun, the Colt, that could kill anything, Dean and Sam arrived in Manning hours before John. A couple nights later, Dean, Sam, and John fought an easy battle with the pack of vampires that took the Colt and gained the possession of the revolver.
Days had passed when John received a word, in Salvation, from his good friend, Caleb, that Pastor Jim was slain. "We're gonna end this..now. I don't care what it takes.." And that was the final decision made by John, no questions asked by his boys. As a few days passed, Meg-who was left for dead back in Chicago-made an unsuspecting call to Sam asking for their father. Meg told John to bring the Colt in Lincoln, Missouri. John accepting the meeting, he had sent Dean to buy a replica of the Colt.
Trading Colts, Dean having the real one and John having the replica, John made his way to Lincoln, alone, and left his boys in Salvation. While in Salvation, Dean and Sam kept their eyes opened on a family with a six month old baby. When the lights flickered around in the house, Dean and Sam were there to save the baby and the parents from the demon and the fire.
As the night progressed, Dean tried contacting John on his cell only to get Meg on the other end. "You'll never see you dad, again." After hanging up with Meg, Dean and Sam made their way to where one of John's remaining friends resided. Seeking help and information, they got an unexpected visitor, Meg. Dean and Sam having the knowledge of the Devil's trap, lured meg into the circle and tied her up to a chair. Sam read the dead language and tried exorcising the demon from her. After interrogating and releasing the demon from Meg's body, Dean and Sam found the answer to where John was located and Meg became her human self, but died from broken bones from being thrown out of the window.
Dean and Sam headed to Sunrise Apartments, where John was being held. Having a few dilemmas on getting inside, the Winchester boys dressed in firefighter gear and went up to the apartment where John was located. Getting John out from the window, avoiding the attack of the demons, Dean, Sam and John made their way to the streets. But a demon tackled Sam and started beating him. Dean pulled the Colt out and used a bullet, leaving two bullets left for the head demon.
Arriving an abandoned cabin deep in the woods, Dean and Sam got John to rest and just waited for him to heal. But things were getting fishy about John and Dean caught on. John never yelled at Dean for using the Colt. The demon having arrived, John sent Sam to check all the door ways to make sure they had salt and John ordered Dean to hand the Colt over. But Dean never obeyed. He held the Colt up to him and Sam sided with Dean, but Dean couldn't bring himself to shoot John.
After secrets were revealed about the family, John fought the demon to release his boys. Sam went straight for the Colt and shot his possessed father in the leg. The demon was being fought back within John and he ordered his youngest to shoot him to get rid of the demon, but Sam, like Dean, couldn't bring himself to do it. The demon released itself from John and escaped, yet again. Now in the Chevy Impala, Sam drove his father and brother towards Salvation Hospital.
"Look everything’s gonna be alright hospitals only ten minutes away."
"I’m surprised in you Sammy. Why didn’t you kill it? I thought we saw eye to eye on this killing this demon comes first. Before me. Before everything."
"No sir. Not before everything. Look we still got the colt. We still got the one bullet left. We should start over alright I mean we already found the demon and –" A semi comes speeding and slams into the passenger side of the 1967 black Chevy Impala. All three bodies made no move....
