That fateful day at Alkali Lake was so long ago, but no one has forgotten the terrible consequences of that day. The X-Men lost a valued member, as well as a student to the so-called 'dark side'. No one can ever get over that. The X-Men might ask themselves "What were we fighting for that day?" or "Was it really worth it?" No one can be sure about anything anymore. It seems as if the X-Men are coming undone at the seams.
But for the Brotherhood, no, thats a different story. Things seem to be falling into place perfectly, like the pieces of a puzzle. They gained a valuable member, Pyro, and wiped out a threat, Jean. Magneto is doing beautifully. He's recruiting more and more members everyday. They're each loyal and willing to fight for a cause.
But what is this cause? The homo-sapiens have come out with their 'cure', something that 'cures' a mutant of their affliction. They seem to think that the mutantions are a curse. No, they are a blessing. The humans' mentalities have outraged the mutants to the point of violence. They want revenge on the humans for this injustice and they plan to get it. They were provoked, weren't they?
But the X-Men want to finish this with little or no blood-shed. The humans shouldn't be attacked because it only confirms their suspicions that mutants are dangerous. That method of action would be detrimental to the healt of the mutant society. The mutants must reason with the humans like civilized beings. That is the only way this problem can be solved.
