(Katie had a great idea- bring your 25 and under x-men or students!)
Paige slipped downstairs in her cover up, thonged feet snapping as she opened the door and stepped out onto the patio. Only a couple students were in the pool, it was still early afternoon, and for that she was glad. She was hoping to get a few laps in.
Dropping the white coverup and her towel with a small bag by one of the lounging deck chairs, she adjusted her red bikini to make sure it wasn't going to slip off when she got in, and carefully sat on the side, putting her legs in the pool.
The sun beat on her shoulders and she sighed happily, missing the drowsy summer days of Kentucky.

In a move that would come as zero surprise to most people, Warren was flying. Lazy laps in the sky were much more his style than lazy laps in the pool - bedraggled feathers dripping water all over the place weren't exactly the most appealing thing, and swimming had never been his preferred form of exercise. Diving, sure, but it was much more fun to dive from way up in the sky than a high dive platform, and he didn't have to worry about hitting the water right, he could swoop away before he got there.
Right now, though, as he looked down at the pool and spotted Paige looking extremely hot in a red bikini, getting in the water was sounding like a reasonably appealing activity.
Well, he was allowed to look. It wasn't like he took offense to people looking at him. Which, Warren reflected, was a good thing considering he walked around half naked most of the time. Or flew around half naked - once again, he was dressed in just his jeans.
Twisting into a dive, the mutant known as Angel cut through the air, swooping when he approached the water and coming to land on the side of the pool. Folding his wings behind him, he smiled across the water at Paige.
"Afternoon."

Paige gasped a bit as Warren came swooping overhead, and ducked a little just from reflex. When he landed and fixed her with one of those deadly smiles, she aimed hers back at him, grinning wickedly.
"Hey there."
You get clearance to fly something that sexy around? No Paige. No. Don't go there.
"I'm.. going for a swim."
Check you out, slick talker.
Chuckling at herself, she tucked renegade strands of bright blonde hair behind her ear. "How's your morning treating you."

"I'd guessed. Just 'cause I'm blonde..." He gave her a cheeky grin, dipping one toe into the water. Warm, but not enough to entice him.
"Day's good so far. Nice breeze, good weather, perfect for flying." Not that every day wasn't perfect for flying. It was just less comfortable some days than others. Like when there was rain, or snow.
"Was thinking about heading into the city. Maybe give Alison a call or something." He didn't even know why he'd mentioned her. To remind himself that Paige wasn't the only girl he spent time with? That she wasn't the only hot blonde he knew?
Then again, it could have simply been because he'd been thinking about her. Well, she was a cool chick. Not what you'd expect from a celebrity.
"Still, that would require... Clothes, probably."
He could just see the tabloids. Half naked mutant stalks Alison Blaire. His father would just love that.
"What've you been up to? You stood me up the other day, you know, I was standing in the hall for ages going 'Hello? Helllooooo?' Can't say I've ever had that happen before." Warren grinned again. He'd figured that she'd gotten sidetracked and gone down to the Danger Room by himself. The new program was awesome.

Sliding down into the water, she swam beneath the surface and came up on the other side near him. Running her hand over her face, she looked up at him with blue eyes that shined all the brighter by comparison to the chlorinated water around her.
"Oh my GOSH Warren..." she winced. "I am so sorry. Logan found me in the hall and I... I totally forgot." Her blush was almost cute, if it weren't for her edging towards a win in the 'most naked mutant at xaviers' contest.
"Logan asked me to join the X-Men, after some training of course..." she blushed. "I ran to my room and called my brother, then wrote Bobby... I spaced. I feel so bad..." And she did. She'd really wanted to see him work, not to mention getting a chance to try out her powers in a real combat situation.
"Can I make it up to you?"

"Oh, I'm sure you can." His amused smile was immediately transformed into the most innocent expression he could muster.
"That's great news, though, I'm glad to hear it. Told you it'd be fine." Obviously they just hadn't gotten around to her yet. Nothing to do with her brother of lack of confidence in her or anything like that.
Damn, Bobby was a lucky guy. He blinked down at Paige for a moment, smiling, before turning around to look for somewhere to sit. No high stools out by the pool, which was no surprise really. With a shrug, he knelt down on the smooth tiles and lay on his stomach, propping himself up on his elbows. It may not have been the most comfortable place in the world, but at least it wasn't all pebbled or anything.
"Have you heard from Bobby?" Warren hadn't heard much, although Cameron had told him that it all seemed to be going fine. That hadn't exactly been reassuring, though.

Paige floated on her back for a moment before doing a flip over backwards and coming to the surface again.
"Yeah actually, we're writing now. Cam hooked me up, I give my letters to him and he Fed-Ex'es them."
She knew the lawyer by a shortening of his nickname. Pretty familiar for a guy just recently hired to defend her just as recently acquired boyfriend. Such was the power of a pretty girl.
"He says he's doing good, at least under the circumstances, but he gets really bored. I can imagine. Hotel room by yourself and all."
That called to mind their trip into New York City, and their time in the hotel room. She wasn't sure whether to pay more attention to the exciting memory or the pain of Bobby's absence. Sighing, she turned to look at Warren, floating in place.
"Say. Think you might be able to get some pictures of me today for him? Figure he needs the inspiration." She smirked.

Well, apparently she'd gotten started on ideas for how to make it up to him pretty quickly. Raising his eyebrows, Warren gave her yet another one of his smiles.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure I could manage that. You uh... have anything specific in mind?"
He didn't know whether to hope for or against Paige saying something about lingerie and soft lighting. It wasn't like he'd never taken any pictures like that before, but generally they were his girls, not someone else's. Yeah, underwear was only underwear, and it wasn't like she was wearing more right now in the pool, but still. Taking sexy pictures of a friend... were they the best combination of people to be friends or the worst? It was hard to tell.

She swam up to the edge and half jumped out, putting her elbows on the side and kicking her legs. Paige was mostly unaware of the nice rear shot she was giving the kids in the pool- what was she supposed to do, cover herself up because she had a great body?
"Well, Bobby couldn't really have a thing against a swim suit, right." She sighed, rolling her eys a bit. "You just know he'd throw a fit if it was anything else, even if this bit doesn't cover all that much anyway." She giggled. "What a prude." It seemed almost endearing the way she said it, as if she was beginning to think it was more cute than annoying.
"Not sure we should do it out here though. Maybe when I'm done we can head in or... what do you think. The woods?" She laughed.

"We'll find a spot. You forget who you're talking to, we have the technology. Or something." He rustled his wings as if to demonstrate.
"But you're right, not here. Could you imagine the gossip?" Why Bobby would have a problem with anything more than a swimsuit was just beyond Warren. The girl had a great body. There was nothing wrong with showing it off.
Still, even though Paige was right about him being a bit of a prude, Bobby was his friend and things already had potential to be tense upon his return. Hopefully they wouldn't be, but adding 'you took pictures of my girlfriend in almost nothing' probably wouldn't help things any.
"Even the Danger Room if you want a tropical setting, but we'll have to look out for dinosaurs," he grinned, "and I'm not sure if you can actually take pictures in there." Might not work with the holograms. He'd have to ask Forge.

"Good question, I wonder if the film will pick it up, or distort it or what."
She slipped down into the water again.
"By the way... Bobby said I'm cool hanging out with you. Just in case you think I'm trying to get you in trouble." Paige flashed him one of her more innocent smiles and drifted out into the pool, closing her eyes against the sun overhead.

"Did you specify that we'd be partially naked?"
Even though she couldn't see it, he still directed a cheeky grin her way.
Maybe, given who they were, it was just taken for granted. But then, it was Bobby they were talking about. He couldn't exactly expect Paige to be in a nun-suit or anything though, could he?

Liam looked around the grounds a bit nervously, tugging down at the swim trunks Mr. Wagner had given him. He'd finally began to see the advantages of wearing pants... why in the world would anyone wear clothes so short? They didn't provide any sort of protection from the elements, they didn't conserve heat... they just seemed to serve the need for humans to cover themselves up, which he still couldn't grasp. The only reason he wore clothes (other than their protective qualities) was because the other students seemed to take it better when he did.
As it was, he slowly edged his way toward the pool, wearing nothing but the swim trunks, his scar-covered torso feeling terribly exposed without its normal leather vest. They had wanted him to train in different environments than the air, seeing if he could use his wings to swim any faster - or at least get them out of the way so he could swim at all.
Turning the corner, he found that he wasn't the only person who had decided to use the pool. He took a deep breath and stepped forward.

Husk turned when she saw the figure out of the corner of her eye. She hadn't caught the boy around, but then there were a lot of students at the school and she, for the most part, didn't really pay attention to people younger than herself. Something about having a truckload of siblings.
Smiling, she waved a bit at the weird looking boy. He looked incredibly uncomfortable. Poor guy. Paige was not nearly as stuck on appearances as her good looks often led people to believe; after all, she'd grown up in the coal mining capital of Kentucky. One was lucky if their boyfriends had all their teeth.

He could only grin when Paige didn't answer his question, turning to wave at a new arrival. Liam. In swimming trunks. Looking very uncomfortable. Whether it was the idea of going in the water or the exposure of wearing only tiny shorts, Warren couldn't have said, but his guess was the former. Although his bat wings would probably be far less of a hassle in the water than Angel's bird wings.
"Hey Liam." Warren had been meaning to track the boy down - he wanted to take him down into the Danger Room sometime and start with one of the easy programs. It was obvious that there was no problems actually flying, but if his memory of their flight to New York was correct, Liam could stand to work on his agility.
"Paige, Liam, Liam, Paige." Might as well do the introductions, although for all he knew the pair had already met. You never could tell around here.

Liam edged forward, watching Warren and the strange girl look his way. It was a little strange; they were both so aesthetically pleasing. Definitely made him feel a little out of place. However, he was there, and there was nothing to be done for it now.
His wings pulled close against his back, he walked up to the side of the pool next to them, his toes curling over and gripping the edge of the pavement. "Hello." His goggles nearly completely black in the bright sun, his eyes were out of sight as they darted between the two, trying to think of something to say.
He'd been told he was going to start working with Warren, and it was a prospect he was fairly excited about, but first he had to overcome the hurdle he was facing now... learning to swim.

Paige got up onto the side of the pool, watching Liam. She waved a bit and moved to sit by Warren, wringing her hair out with one hand.
"Howdy honey." Hell. Her accent slipped in before she caught it. She did her best to smooth it out. "You know how to swim?"

Liam stared down at the water, hesitation etched slearly across what features could be seen. One foot stretched out experimentally, one toe extending to dip into the water before it was pulled back quickly.
He had no use for water.
Water was not a natural part of his diet. The animals that lived in the water - fish, he reminded himself - were cold-blooded, as he'd discovered after bothering to wrestle one out of the water one day. Cold blood was even less appetizing than human blood. And human blood tasted bad.
No use for water at all.
So when Paige asked if he knew how to swim, all he could do was look at her and shake his head.

"You know how to swim?"
"I do!" chimed in a voice from behind Liam, and Cal popped out onto the deck.
She was feeling frisky from a stomach full of delicious German pancakes (German, German, not Russian, goshdarnit), and when she caught a glimpse of a little gathering poolside she thought that would be just the ticket for afternoon on a sunny day.
Today was an Outgoing Day, and Cal had more energy than a dingo on a hotplate. She nearly crashed into Liam's wing as she screeched to a halt next to them.

"Hi." Warren gave the newcomer a little smile-and-wave - he had a feeling that he knew the girl, but there were a lot of kids in the school, so it wasn't a surprise that he couldn't remember her name off the top of his head.
Even if she was cute. He tried not to get too friendly with the cute young ones, actually, because he really didn't want to get himself into trouble.
Yeah, past experience. Again.
Well, he was an Angel, not a saint.
"Maybe you can help Liam. I'm not much of a swimmer myself."
Well, there was no point in being shy. Much easier to just ask her name than pretend he knew her. Especially if he hadn't ever actually been introduced.
"I'm Warren, by the way. This is Paige and Liam. I'm sorry, I can't remember if we've been introduced or not, but I know I've seen you around."
He shot her one of his most winning smiles.
