Logan carried the packs towards the tree line, thinking hard about the task of training up all the new recruits. He had quite the task before him, and he needed to remember that it'd take more than a few weeks to get them into fighting shape, it was a process more suited to being measured in quarters and years. Still, he was excited by all the new potential. The X-men were about to nearly double their ranks, and that would put them very prepared indeed for any problems of the heavily recruiting Brotherhood. At least they were heavily recruited last time he'd seen... then again, he'd personally cut out at least a third of their ranks.
Walking through the dark wood, his mind shifted elsewhere, to the beautiful Rayen and her strange new headfellow – was that even a word before now? This situation was delicate, but he would be there fore her. The Wolverine was tenacious, and would do what it took to make Rayen feel like she had someone here with her for this troubling time – because she did, no matter how long it took.
Darkly he thought that there was the possibility Lorna would stay permanently in Rayen, that it would be a handicap that would ever be a burden on them and any relationship they could hope to have.
It amazed even him that he didn't waver in his conviction, though. At his core, Logan was a good guy. He really couldn't see himself leaving her side because it would be inconvenient, rather it would likely be for normal reasons. He wasn't madly truly deeply in love with her, but he felt devoted to her just the same. What they had was incredible, particularly given his history. He had never exactly been lucky with the ladies.
As he walked into the clearing she'd chosen, he couldn't help note the advantages of the place. Rayen seemed to be admiring it too, though she could've been meditating for all he could tell. She looked very... serene.

The impromptu camp was nestled into a grove of hazelnut trees- the sort that grew branches straight from the ground and sprouted frothy leaves in all directions. It made a bit of a burrow out of the area but for the canopy of trees over head, looking like a cathedral as the sun shone through it. Rayen had honed her ability to find these moving spots of natural beauty. When you camped with the intention of finding your spirit , you took what inspiration you could.
Turning as he approached, she smiled. He'd been making noise on purpose with his walk so as not to surprise her. Rayen knew he could move just as quickly as she could among the thick underbrush of undisturbed forest. That he'd thought of her made her smile.
"Hey," she said, walking up to meet him. Pausing to kiss his lips, she murmured. "Thanks."
Rayen helped him with the equipment as she talked. "Lorna and I had a talk while you were gone. She decided to try her best and remain quiet unless I need her to speak. I don't know if that's going to work out but... we're going to give it a shot."

Logan smiled, taking the kiss with unedited joy. Such a small gesture of closeness... yet he never really knew it so sincerely. It only served to broaden his smile. The sunlight through the trees was a nice touch, too.
Odd that only a hundred yards from here he'd nearly been killed a bit before. Funny how life works out that way.
He knelt and began to unroll the tent (only one of course,) and looked back at her as she spoke.
“No kiddin'? That's good to hear. You know, I wonder if she can do that trick your brother does – seeing into technology... or at least picking up their electrical signatures and translatin' em? We could somehow hook her up to the internet, at least she'd have something to distract her.”
Something needed to distract her, that was for sure. He could only imagine how uncomfortable Rayen would be having any kind of romantic, intimate, or, God willing, sexual encounters. Hell, he could only imagine how uncomfortable it would be in all walks of life – particularly using the bathroom. The shoveled that thought away quickly, going back to the whole sexual encounters one.

Rayen thought about it as she assembled the camp table. "I'm still unsure about us using our powers together at all. We're going to experiment with it tomorrow I think, after I've had some time to calm down."
She looked at him. "You... haven't spoken to my brother at all have you. Is he okay?" Bandero had never contacted her, and she couldn't blame him. For all he knew she'd done it on purpose.
There went her good mood.

"When I went back in?" He asked, strapping some roping to the spikes he'd driven into the ground with quick shoves. "Nope. Didn't exactly look for him either, though. He was the one that told me to come find you, though, so last I checked he was just worried about you. I should probably call him and let him know you're alright.”
Dislike Forge as he did, the thought of making a brother worry about his sister was beneath even him.
“So you you're going to test the powers tommorow eh? I'd suggest the Danger Room but it's all electronics. Maybe Forge can come up with some energy for you to use out here.”

Rayen's smile faded a bit, and she turned away, rubbing the back of her neck. "Yeah... I don't know. We'll see."
She's told him about the seven years on the reservation after the island. He saw how hesitant she was to use her powers on the mutant in Baltimore. It didn't seem Logan had quite picked up how very careful and methodical Rayen could be when it came to her powers. It seemed every time she lost control, something lethal happened.
Bending over to start assembling her tent, she thought quietly to herself. Lorna, for once, stayed quiet as well.

Logan looked at the spikes and rope, and nodded. He walked adjacent to her, and helped with the other side.
“I know you're worried about what could happen, and with good reason... but if you'd like, I can go get whatever Forge comes up with myself, and bring it out into the wilderness with you. You just need some practice, that's all.”
He gave her a reassuring smile.
“I'll be out there with you, but I don't think even Lorna could put me away. It'll be okay.”

She frowned, then broke out in a chuckle. "Yeah, you're probably right actually. Ironic huh, you'd be the person I could most likely zap the hell out of and not hurt?"
Sliding the tarp over the top of the tent, she strapped it on.
"What about you? I'm sure you have things you should be taking care of."
