Alani dropped her bags on the front steps of the school and sighed. Her arms were really tired from lugging down all her luggage - ten bags in all - and she wished she didn't have a half-hour cab ride and then a twelve-hour flight ahead of her. You really don't get any real sleep on an airplane, after all.
She stayed standing by her bags for a moment more, then slumped down and sat upon one of her duffels full of clothes. She put her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hands and sighed again.
She looked around and saw no one outside at all, then began singing quietly. "All my bags are packed I'm ready to go, I'm standing here outside your door. I hate to wake you up to say goodbye...Cuz I'm leaaaaaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again..."
Alani sighed yet again and waited for her cab to come.
