At the door, William and Maddie Drake paused. William didn't know whether to knock or just walk in. He had to remind himself that despite it's home-like appearance, that the place was a school (of sorts), and that you didn't knock to enter a school.
He opened the door and walked in, followed by Madeline. In the entryway, they paused, looking around. Students walked past, some close and some farther away, but there wasn't an adult nearby. William wondered what they were to do for a moment, before deciding. Turning to his wife and placing a hand in the small of her back.
"Come on, honey...Let's find a...teacher. Or someone."
And they started across the entryway in search of someone who could lead them to their son.

Candice found the two parents in the entryway. They looked scared and out of place, or at least very worried.
"Welcome to Xavier's... I'm Candice Taylor, Administrator. Can I help you?"

William's face was already set seriously, even a bit angrily, and the same emotion was conveyed in his response. This woman, though she looked normal, was most likely a mutant as well. William and Maddie couldn't be sure if the entire school was for mutants, or if there were also human beings there as well.
"Yes, you can," William said, sounding slightly touchy already. "My name is William Drake, and this is my wife, Madeline, and we were told that our son Bobby is hurt. We want to see him right now."
He wasn't asked questions, and he didn't respond to what Candice said. The walk to the elevator and then the rest of the way to the lab was a stiff silence, as William and Madeline followed Candice. The walked a few feet back at all times and kept a wary eye on her, as though they half-expected her to start spitting flames or to grow claws and turn on them. Which they did half expect.
Once in the underground hallway, Candice pointed them to the medical lab and watched from afar to be sure that they found the right door. They did, but were faced with a jolting surprise when they pulled the lab door open.
(continued in 'This was not how it should have gone' or something. In the Medical Lab board.)
