Logan strolled to the elevator, ready to head down and talk to geek-boy about his little communicator message.
It had been a decent week for Logan, all around, despite the argument with Rayen. He tried desperately not to let her become the center of his life currently, but with the boredom that was the X-Mansion, it was fairly hard not too. Still, he had enough self control not to constantly be looking for her and wanting to hang around her.
So this morning he was actually excited to hear that Forge may have something entertaining for him to do...
ding – the elevator doors opened, and lo and behold, the one legged bastard was there.
The two men stared at each other for a moment, nearly visible hate energy crackling between them.
“Hello Wolverine.” Forge said first, barely sounding civilized.
“Forge...” Logan offered.
“You get my message this morning, or were you busy smoking cigars and watching Captain Kangaroo?” Forge asked brusquely.
“What? Yeah, I got it. What'd you need?” Logan asked, already seconds from stabbing the Cheyenne's good leg with his claws.
“Possible security breach. Someone stole into Candice's office last night and hacked her password to access sensitive files. We have no idea who. Could've been anyone. Kurt is currently asking around, I was heading up here to see if can detect any hidden cameras. There's nothing attached to the security network, if there are.”
"That's awesome, I'm sure it'll give you a chance to get out and stretch your leg." Logan answered wryly. "How about I tag along - I got nothin' better to do."

Thirty minutes later, Logan was considering what it would take to actually kill himself. Hanging out with the uni-dork was probably the most obnoxiously un-entertaining thing he could think of.
Then again, what did he find entertaining anyway? The house held virtually no entertainment value for him, which was a huge problem. Logan had never been a big fan of TV or music, video games or useless hobbies. He wasn't very keen on 'entertainment' in general. He was an outdoorsman, a hunter, and mostly a fighter. Action was his draw, his bag.
Considering that, as he walked with Forge he looked down at him. “Hey, how about we head down to the Danger Room? I bet with your power you could probably create some real challenges.”
When Forge looked back at him, his eyes gleamed a dangerous sparkle. “Actually I was thinking about that. If we were in the Danger Room, I could make your adversaries respond to you real-time. It'd be like fighting you with the holograms... I'd find that particularly entertaining.”
“Yeah?” Logan asked, interest peaked. “Could be something actually amusing to do around here... I figure since kicking your ass in person would be frowned upon, at least I could kick your ass in the Danger Room.”
Forge actually snorted laughter. “Yeah, well sorry 'bub' – I'm afraid I couldn't compete with your mutant powers in a hand to hand fight, so I guess that lets you off the hook. It'd be like you trying to win a spelling bee against Hannah.”
Logan smirked. “Keep talkin', geek. Keep talkin'.”
They continued down the hall, though they were on the last leg, pun intended, of the search.

Rayen had been jogging around the grounds, listening to music on her headphones. She was still keeping her heart rate up, jogging through the foyer into the kitchen when she ran right past her brother and Logan.
Bandero and Logan? Together? Intentionally? She stopped and backed up into the hallway.
Pulling off her headphones, she smiled breathlessly, tugging her black and yellow jogging top down a bit. "Hey guys. Good morning."

Forge looked up, thankful for the interruption. He could only take some much Awkward Macho Antithesis from Logan.
"Hey..." he said, then noticed her jogging outfit, which was tight and sexy, and frowned. "Rayen." He finished lamely. Just what he needed more ammo for Logan's spank bank. Damn he hated that guy.
"Maybe when I finish the leg I can come running with you. That'd be awesome. It'd be a good test of the cybernetics too... yeah, I think I'll work to that."
The thought really was satisfying. Now he had a pretty basic idea of where he wanted to be near completion, and exercising with his sister sounded awfully entertaining.
-----
Logan definately could see the draw in the jogging outfit, but knew better than to say anything. He smiled at her, and let Forge speak, something about a leg. He wasn't really listening.
When it seemed like Forge was off in his own little dreamworld again, Logan chimed in.
"So we're lookin' around for some clues. Apparently someone breached security last night with a little computer hackin', and now we're tryin' to find out who."

"Oh yeah?" She frowned curiously and looked at Forge. "You mean you couldn't see who it was through the keystrokes or anything? Not really sure how that one works..." She shrugged.
"Well do you guys need any help? I should take a shower but I don't have plans today. Aside from talking to someone about getting into the X-Men."

Logan's face lit up into a grin. He nodded, very pleased. "Now we're talkin' - we'll go see Storm as soon as you're showered."
Forge, however, looked like he'd been hit by a truck. "whoa, whoa, whoa... what's this? W-why rush on this, don't you think it's a little fast? Shouldn't you, I dunno, spend a few years here first?"
Oh God oh God oh God... no no no no no no no no

Rayen laughed loudly. "A few YEARS?" A sigh and a look to Logan was followed too quickly by a loving grin to be mocking of her big brother's protectiveness.
"Take the training wheels off, Bandy." Thinking about what she said, she countered her own point. "Actually, it wouldn't hurt to at least have a little training before I ask Storm what she thinks." She looked between them both. "What kind of training do you DO around here anyway?"

Logan grinned, the suggestion making his day. He'd seen her in action, back in Baltimore, and knew that she'd make an excellent member of the team.
"Well, we were just talking about that, actually. We've got the Danger Room. I think Storm would probably like you to have some sort of training before hand, yeah... she actually has some sort 'a program she runs the new guys through. At least she did for Iceman, Colossus and Kitty."
Forge, meanwhile, had his head slumped... he was beating back thoughts of how to end this nightmare before it began, but finally swallowed them, concentrating on what his sister wanted instead. This was no easy feat.
He sighed, surrendered, and spoke. "Yeah... and I hear there are a few other students in the school looking to make the team too. Well, not all of em' are students, at least, not kids. Maybe we should try to set up some sort of beginners course? A trainee program... I dunno."

"If I made it through the program, would you feel a little better about it?" She smirked playfully and nudged his wheelchair with her tennis shoe.
Rayen could remind him that SHE wasn't the one that got her leg torn off in Baltimore, but thought it might be a bad time what with Logan standing there.
"I know you're worried bro... it's awesome, really. But I'm a big girl and I want a chance to do something right with my powers. Ya know?"
Then she looked at Logan. "You hungry? I haven't had breakfast yet."

Logan nodded. "Starving, actually. Wanna head into town see if we can't hit up some real food?"
Forge, meanwhile, was doing his best to smile. He knew she was right, absolutely knew it. She was a big girl, and could make her own decisions, and ... why did this sound so familiar to him? Probably because he was overbearing. That thought troubled him.
"Okay," He said. "Sure. You go through the program like everyone else, and I guess I'll have no choice but to accept it. It's only fair to treat you like everyone else."
He glanced over to Logan, very, very annoyed that he suggested they go to town to eat. He considered offering to come along, but decided that he could only be so much of an asshole and still sleep at night.
Still, he couldn't wait to get Logan in the Danger Room.

Leaning over, she put an arm around Forge's neck and gave him a big kiss on the temple. "YOU... are the best. Listen. I'll keep my communicator on me, if anything comes up about that break in, just let me know." Looking at Logan, she smiled. "See you upstairs then?"
She pulled her walkman off and headed back towards the stairs. "Love you Bandy!" She called, before disappearing around the corner.

Forge simply stared after her, glad that he was making the right decision regarding her opinions and feelings, and at the same time feeling a pit of fear opening in his stomach.
Then she told Logan she'd meet him upstairs. Where she was about to be showering.
"You know," He said casually. "That was just a slip, right? She meant outside. Not upstairs."
Logan was nodding as he walked towards the stairs. "Yah, I know. Don't you worry, Forge - I've got it under control. Go ahead and contact me by the communicator if you need anything as well..."
He paused halfway up the stairs, and looked at his watch. "Better give me at least thirty minutes before you do, though."
And with that he vanished up them, a shit-eating grin on his face.
Forge simply stared after, the color drained out of his face. To him, the world had somehow fallen out of it's correct alignment, and everything was spinning out of control.
"God I hate that guy."
