(ooc: This is at least a few days before the arrest)
Bobby sat in the library at a table, his laptop in front of him, hunched over it and staring intently at the screen. He was Googling something, and scrolling through site after site, none of which seemed to be what he was looking for. He'd been there for nearly an hour, and had little to show for it. Nothing, actually. Finding someone was a lot harder than he'd thought it would be, especially with what little information he had on them.
Fortunately enough, at that exact moment Forge was wheeling through the library. Bobby likely would've heard that his leg had been miraculously healed from a new mutant, but to see Forge completely painless was still impressive. Still, the techno-mutant was adjusting to navigating the wheelchair, and mumbled about putting an electric motor on it.
He didn't even see Bobby there as he wheeled past – he was concentrating too hardly on not knocking into tables.
Bobby glanced up as he saw a wheelchair move by, for a split second his brain automatically assuming that it was Professor Xavier, the memory of him erasing the last year's events for less than a second. But it was plain to see as Bobby looked at the man in the chair that it wasn't Xavier. Of course it wasn't; the Professor was dead. It was Forge.
"I bet you pick up all the girls in those wheels," Bobby spoke up from where he sat, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
It also took Forge a second to realize that someone was talking to him. His first thought was 'what wheels?' - then it hit him – oh yeah, Bobby must've been talking about him. Fortunately, Forge was witty. "Just the one's at the retirement homes." he said, smirking himself.
Deciding to give his arms a rest, he spun to face Bobby. "What's up, Bobby, haven't seen you in the past coupla days. You alright? Heard you were out of it for a while there."
Bobby nodded as he pushed the laptop aside so it wasn't between the two of them. In doing so, he turned it so the screen was visible to Forge. "Yeah, I guess I overworked myself in Baltimore. Least that's all I understood from what Ororo said."
"So I hear they fixed you up. Is it still bothering you at all?" Bobby asked, meaning his leg.
Forge looked down at his stump with a slight frown, nothing too serious though. He'd gotten all the real hard emotions out about the thing. "Nope. That kid Josh is amazing. He totally healed it - skin, veins, nerves, everything. Couldn't grow it back, but he could heal all the damage."
He glanced at the screen. "Whatcha doing online?" Forge had been meaning to put together a DnD group since he got here, but he was unsure the geek level of everyone present - this could perhaps lead him to a clue about Bobby's nerdery.
Bobby glanced at the screen, giving it a mildly annoyed look. "I'm actually trying to track down someone..." he said. He looked to Forge again, and quickly added, "Not Rogue--the girl I was looking for before, when I asked you...About Kitty's mail." His voice had dropped a level; in case Kitty decided to drop in, he didn't want to drudge up bad memories.
"This girl from The Brotherhood...I saw her in Baltimore, and we kind of talked. She has healing powers, and I made her heal...a civilian. Her mom, actually. I was thinking maybe if I could get her email address or something, become friends with her if there's any way to do it without being obvious...Maybe she'd eventually give me some information."
Forge frowned, scratching his chin charecterstically. "Okay... well, you're going to need some kind of better information. What all do you know about her? I'm all down for tracking down Brotherhood members."
It occured to Bobby as Forge spoke that Forge could find someone via computer much, much easier than he could, and he was relieved when Bandero offered. He felt like asking for one favor was enough before the guy had even been there a month. "Her name is Angie, at least that's what her Mom called her. Might be short for something...Angela? And, uh, I'm pretty sure she's Australian."
He slid the laptop toward Forge as he searched his mind for more information. "There might be something in a newspaper about her running away. Her mom is a doctor...Who tried to find a cure, she said...Maybe there's something in a newspaper about an Australian doctor being injured in the NovaTex attacks?" He sounded hopeful, putting his faith in Forge's amazing tech abilities.
Forge nodded thoughtfully, and drummed his fingers together in concentration. "Okay, I think that should be a enough... just give me one second, I'll see what I can find conventionally."
He didn't appear to do anything, merely close his eyes and think. In actuality, his will was going into the small computer he always wore on his side, and that computer was connected to the web via the wi-fi in the school. Now he was net-crawling at high-speed, linking through information networks not normally accessable to the public, but easily for a hacker of his skill. He trolled around for a few seconds.
"There were two female Australian doctors from Novatex. Dr. Elizabeth Price, and Dr. Michelle Pearley." He paused another few moments, and nodded. "Dr. Price had a daughter, and she was indeed proclaimed a run away... her names is Angela Price, of course. Okay, this next bit will take a while. I'm going to construct a few net-spiders, which will grow outward and search the web for all information on Angela Price. I'll cross reference all the information I have on her, and it'll narrow down the search. Could take a while. If she has any old email accounts, anything with her name on it, I can find them and hack them, try to come up with an alias or two. Then I can expand my search to cover the aliases, and see what we can come up with. Give me... an hour? Maybe two?"
Bobby's eyebrows rose as Forge launched into an explanation of everything the search would encompass. He nodded. "Yeah, that'd be awesome. Thanks, man. You know...You're really nice to have around."
Then, on an opposite note, Bobby cocked his head to the side, giving him a curious look that hide all humor. "Are you sure you aren't, like...A robot?"
Forge looked back at him, completely serious. "Android, actually. I've got biological features, such as flesh and blood, and am therefore an android. Robot's close though... But thanks, by the way. I try to be handy - or at least to use my abilities that way. I hope that I'm nice to have around for more than that, though - I'd hate to be labelled as 'that guy who's handy' - or even 'that guy who's handicapped'."
Bobby tried to determine whether or not Bandero was joking, and still couldn't be completely convinced that he wasn't. "Every day, my life edges more and more into some schizophrenic's sci-fi fantasy," he said with a dazed shake of his head.
"Well, I guess I'll leave you to your work, then?" Bobby said, pushing his chair back and standing. "Oh, and you aren't just 'that guy who's handy'. Add 'the hottest thing on one leg' to the list," he said, flashing Forge a grin to show that the teasing was good-natured.
