I highly reccommend that you read this before applying, because it will probably affect what you put in your application.
Character Restrictions:
1. New players may have five characters total at Panacea, this includes canon and original characters.
2. New players may have two original characters. These characters will be harder to apply for due to the sheer number of canon characters that are out there for play. Still, I love my OCs just as much as you, so I'll let you have two.
3. You cannot have all five characters be a part of one single group. If you have four X-men, your fifth character must be part of a seperate group. There are plenty of groups to choose from - see the information board for details of each group.
4. Established players may have ten characters total, only five of them being canon. Rule #3 still applies to these characters. If you are not sure whether you qualify as "established" contact a bio mod.
5. Banned Canons and Limited Powers: The ultimate rule to follow when thinking of Power Level for your character is: Could this character automatically beat 80% or more of the current characters in play, and/or: Is there a defense against the power my character uses? If the answer is yes to the first, and no to the second, then you probably shouldn't play them. If we, as storytellers, have to constantly pause and ask “why doesn't your character just kill everyone, then?” - and you have to come up with a reason every time why they don't, then it gets silly. Don't play uber-powerhouses. Don't apply for Galactus or the Beyonder, or some other supreme being, and likewise don't apply for Onslaught or some other such.
A note on Telepathy: The problem with Telepathy is that generally, in the cases of telepathic attack, there are no defenses. 99% of characters can't defend against it, in any way. Consider giving your character some kind of weakness that would allow people to defend against them, and allow for more opportunities in play.
Likewise try to avoid, on your first character, a lot of political power. Don't play the president of the united states, or some other character that can control the story of the game. Wait until we've played with you for a bit.
6: Magic, Demons, Aliens, Other dimensions, Star trek technology, etc: We are playing in the MOVIE Verse. Not the Marvel verse. Stick to mutants and humans. You can get bizarre if you like, as long as that's the theme. There is no “hell,” no “astral plane,” and no “time travel.” There are no aliens or other business.
7: Duplicate Powers: please, please, PLEASE try not to duplicate the powers of a character currently in play. Even if you're playing a canon character. There are enough canons that you don't have to make someone who turns their skin into Organic Steel - if you want to play someone with a canon's power, just app that canon. If the canon is already in play, please don't duplicate their powers with an OC. It could quite easily ruin their fun. Later on, if you'd like, you can discuss with those players about possible bringing the character in. But definately don't do this on your first character.
8: Histories: Don't include any character in your history that's already in play, at all, without asking that player. Even if they're hinted at or loosely mentioned.
Stamping:
Before your character can be moved to the accepted board it must have two stamps from mods.
You must have pre-approval from the administrators (and a really good story) to apply for the following characters:
Scott Summers, Magneto, Xavier, Jean Grey, Emma Frost, Graydon Creed
