Kurt bamfed at the top of the stairs. He'd frightened one person with random appearances today; he didn't need to do so again. Instead, he calmly walked down in the closest approximation to a normal gait he could manage.
Of course, not the easiest thing to do when you can't roll on your heels, but he thought he did a pretty good job.
Spying Bobby and a stranger in the entryway, Kurt put on a friendly smile and headed towards them. "Herr Drake. Who is your friend?"

Bobby looked up to see Kurt approaching, and he smiled widely at him. "Kurt, this is Alex Summers. Alex, Kurt Wagner." Bobby wondered for a moment if he ought to specify that this was the same Summers bloodline that Scott was from - that this man was in fact Scott's brother.
But that would probably be awkward.
So instead he stepped aside so the two could shake hands, looking to Alex with a smile. He was interested to see the blonde young man's reaction to the demon-like mutant. Bobby had come to be used to Kurt's appearance - in fact, he admired it. No one would challenge someone who looked like they could rip your throat out in an instant.
And Bobby had always just thought that having a tail would be incredible.

(my bad. I didn't see this thread. Sorry guys. I was waiting on a reply to the other one.)
Alex stared at Nightcrawler for a moment before he regained his senses and shook his...hand? He only had three fingers! "Uh, nice to meet you." I guess not all mutant names make sense. "My, uh, mutant name's Havok." He was tripping over his words a bit and would probably keep doing so. Kurt's appearance was just too startling.

Kurt looked at the newcomer carefully, trying to take in the familiar features and tie them to something. "Summers... Isn't there a Summers here at the mansion?" Kurt asked quietly. Smiling at Alex, he shook his hand firmly. "Well, Herr Summers, you are welcome here at the Xavier Institute. How much has our Iceman told you about it?"
He was hoping that Bobby had taken the liberty of telling enough about the mansion to take the burden from his shoulders. He had only been acting headmaster for a few days, and he hadn't perfected any sort of welcome speech - or worked on one at all. He'd been mostly concerned with making sure things ran smoothly at all.
There was a lot of praying involved.

Alex had to force his tongue to get in gear. "There used to be another Summers here. You probably called him Cyclops. He's the reason I'm here. I don't know a whole lot about the mansion yet but I'm sure I'll find out soon." His face still showed his surprise at Nightcrawler's appearance; he kept his grief hidden.

"Summers... Isn't there a Summers here at the mansion?"
Bobby winced inwardly, opening his mouth to change the subject before things got awkward, but Alex beat him to it. And he seemed to take it well; he explained to Kurt without blatantly saying the relation or the fact that Scott was gone. Hopefully it could be left at that.
"I told him where everything is, I just haven't gotten to it all yet," Bobby defended himself with an easy-going smile. "And I told him the important history and stuff." Though Bobby's version of telling him probably took less that ten seconds altogether, and thus wasn't exactly the best tour to be had.

"Well why don't we finish up the tour then?" He could lag a little behind and inspect the...elf? demon? whatever it was without getting caught staring. He was probably the most, erm, interesting looking mutant Alex had ever seen.
(I'm assuming it's my go since 'Crawler didn't post last time he logged in. If I'm wrong I'll delete my post. Sorry I didn't respond sooner, things have been kind of hectic. I should be active again now though.)

[OOC: Thread-crashing time!]
From somewhere in the vicinity of the kitchen, with a couple of peanuts in her mouth, Cal's sharp senses detected the presence of a newcomer to the mansion. A moment's thought, and her animalistic curiosity got the better of her. She didn't like to converse, but happily her current form made conversation - in fact, any sort of social grace - unnecessary.
She pointed her sizeable nose in the direction of the front hall. In fact, her nose was visible before the rest of her was.
With a disturbing series of CRACKs, a small elephant turned the corner to the foyer and lumbered across the hardwood floor. Feeling particularly invincible, Animaux squinted at the group, flapped her ears slowly, and sat down. Hard.

(ooc: Man, sorry about being gone for so long. Been a little stressed about life lately, but I'll do my best to stick it out now.)
Kurt was satisfied with the knowledge that Bobby had started whatever orientation Alex would need. He'd been at the school much longer than the teleporter, and frankly Kurt hadn't taken a whole lot of time to study up on the history of the school, so avoiding any sort of required introduction was much better for his sanity.
Elephants rumbling through the mansion, however, were not.
Kurt's eyes widened as, he could only assume, Cal strode through the entryway, her heavy steps causing the polished floors to groan under the strain of the massive feet. He blinked rapidly, not breathing, as she sat back on her haunches, elephant eyes watching them from under heavy lids.
Kurt was aware that he wasn't the most ideal welcome for anyone new to the mansion, his appearance being what it was, but he was also fairly certain that the belief that they had an open-air zoo on the premises wouldn't bring favor with anyone other than small children - of which there seemed to be an influx lately.
His mouth was already open to request in a swift manner that Cal change back to her original state when the words choked off in his throat, his mind swiftly recalling the last time she changed with him in the room. Definitely something he didn't need a repeat of, especially with the new Summers there.
"Er... Herr Summers, may I introduce you to our resident metamorph, Animaux." He indicated the small elephant with the wave of a hand before turning back and whispering to her, "Please, Fraulein, refrain from changing back until you are somewhere where you can get dressed."

Bobby's look became slightly curious as he felt the ground shake slightly and heard a series of thuds and cracks. The floor shook a little bit when Blob, who was a few years younger than Bobby, walked past, but not near as much as the floor was shaking now.
Then an elephant came around the corner.
Bobby's first thought was not of Cal, though he'd seen her take on all sorts of shapes before. His thought was simply 'what the...?' It wasn't until Kurt introduced the animal as Animaux that Bobby realized. And then, his face slowly melted into an awed grin. It never ceased to amaze him the shapes Cal could take. "Hey...wow...what big ears you have," he joked with that goofy grin on his face as he moved toward her.
He reached out a hand slowly, looking to her elephant eyes. "You make a good Dumbo, Cal," he teased her jokingly.

Cal blinked slowly. Mr. Wagner had figured her out pretty quickly. She decided she liked him overall, although her elephant heart got a little huffy at the insinuation she might be stupid enough to take human form in public.
Then again, particularly after their last meeting, he was right.
She narrowed the closer eye and gave him a good stare. Then she flicked at his tail with her trunk. (Hee hee, they were sort of alike, only his trunk was backwards, or her tail was forwards...)
Her attention was diverted by Bobby, who had had the most delicious look of confusion on his face, but was now cracking jokes in her direction. She heaved herself upright, letting her pointed lower lip dangle in what could only be described as an elephant smile, and waggled her ears ponderously at him. Dumbo maybe, but I'm still a lot smarter than you, she thought in return, a little disappointed that she couldn't give him the retort verbally.
Then again, wit was so much easier when she was hiding behind an elephant form. She wasn't nearly so cocky as a person.
Her attention turned to the newcomer now; hm, he was pretty good-looking. She shouldered past Bobby - luckily she wasn't full-size, or that friendly nudge would have knocked him over - and took advantage of her animal cockiness to sniff the new guy in the face.

Havok just stared blankly, his mouth opened slightly. He'd heard of mutants with the ability to blow things up, move things with their minds, set things on fire, but turning into animals never really made the news. Then again, I doubt a tape of a mutie changing into something cute and cuddly would make the news anyway. Not that elephants were cute and cuddly, of course. More like huge, grey, and in need of a cage. He seriously hoped Animaux had more control over her powers than Scott had. He really didn't feel like dealing with an out of control elephant. Or tiger. Or hell, dinosaur, if she could do those. He stumbled back a bit when she started advancing on him. He could feel some of his hair shift out of place when she sniffed him. "Um, hi." Either she was really odd or lost intelligance when she changed. He gently moved her trunk away from his face.

Cal did not fail to notice the newcomer's discomfort. It was a good thing she couldn't read his mind; as it was, she was just amused.
He moved her trunk away from his face, and she giggled: "HUHHH, HUHHHH HUHHUHHHH."
Hmm, something smelled like peanut butter. She turned around and started to sniff Bobby's pockets. Oh man, being an animal was such a good excuse.

Running a weary hand across his eyes, Kurt stepped towards Cal and laid a hand on her gray side, mentally willing her to control her... er... animal instincts. Not that she could hear what he was thinking. At least, he didn't think she could.
He could tell that Alex hadn't been too comfortable with his appearance, and Cal wasn't helping the situation at all. He did find himself wondering why. Those who came to the school and had no previous experience with mutants... he could forgive them some amount of shock and confusion. But Alex was related to Scott. Since he had come here to find him, Kurt had every reason to believe Alex knew why Scott had been here; he would have thought him better acclimated to mutants than he let on.
Still, no reason not to be hospitable.
"So, Herr Summers, would you like a tour of the rest of the mansion, or would you like to get to your room and get settled in beforehand?"

Bobby's shoulder was shoved backwards by a shockingly strong tap by the elephant's trunk, and he stepped back so as to not lose his balance. He understood that it would be easy to underestimate the beast's power, and besides, Cal had a lot of learning to do with her powers, Bobby knew.
He watched with an amused expression as the elephant's trunk got friendly with Alex's face. When Cal began to sniff Bobby's pockets, he stepped back to evade her snout. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a mini Butterfinger. "I don't think this is good for you," he said as he shook it, half-teasingly, half-honestly, as Kurt offered Alex to finish the tour.

"Actually, I think I'll settle in and finish the tour later," Alex said. He'd thought he could handle the mansion but he hadn't been prepared for people this weird. He just knew he was going to have weird dreams tonight.

Kurt nodded and turned to Bobby, keeping his amusement at the way the young man was waving the Butterfinger around to himself. "Herr Drake, if you could find Herr Summers an available room in the upper stories?" He kept the second half of the sentence, "away from the stranger students," to himself, but he could tell that Alex had been exposed to enough surprising mutations for one day. Pulling the ring of keys that Ororo had left him out of his pocket, he deftly snatched the candy bar from his hands and replaced them with the keys, using speed born out of years of prestidigitory practice.
Turning back to Alex, he bowed slightly before turning to Cal and poking her between the eyes. "I think, fräulein, that we need to find you a bigger room."
