You Know I'd Come Running

[Maggott]

Eany and Meany got bored once the little girl with the Dollhouse! left the room. The older girl just resumed her game and ignored them, so they slithered away. They roamed downstairs, following Maggott's scent throughout the house. It was a random trail, as they were going through the same tour he had moments earlier.

They found him just as Candice was leaving Maggott and Husk upstairs in the dorms. They leapt onto his shoulders and he smiled at them.

"Hey, dolls. Meet my new friend, Paige."

[husk]

After watching Candice continue the tour with Hannah, she looked back toward Maggott. She was a bit startled to find two large slug like creatures on his shoulders. Were they the reason why he called himself after a grub? She glanced between them and Maggott, trying to figure out what the connection was.

"Er, hi there." She waved to the two creatures. Paige had a mild aversion to creepy crawlies, but she didn't want to be rude.

"Who are your little friends?"

[Maggott]

"These two lovely ladies are Eany and Meany," Maggott replied.

"Fkkkrt," said Meany. Meany was always rude to strangers, despite what Maggott told her.

He petted her head as he continued to talk to Paige. "So far this place has been a real bummer, don't ya think?"

She blinked at the creature. For such cute names, they certainly didnt look the part. It had made some sort of noise, and it didnt sound too friendly. Looking at Maggott, she had to fight to keep her eyebrow from arching.

"I dont think so at all. Maybe its because I just got here, but the mansion looks amazing, and the people have been friendly enough. Why, did you have a bad experience here already?"

[Maggott]

"No, not a bad experience, luv. Just a boring one, ya know? All I've seen are little kids and boss ladies. As lovely as they are - Where's all the action I heard about?"

He switched the girls to his arms, cradling them; sometimes they got heavy on his shoulders.

"I read about the X-Men all the way in Africa, what they did in the Big Apple, in Canada, in California. And now I get here and it's just empty halls and people popping in and out."

He waved a hand and smiled. "Sorry, luv, don't mean to dump on the place. It's to die for, honest." He looked around at the elaborate hallways and rooms, smiling wider. His voice lowered. "I think we could call this home."

She kept an eye on the two slugs, still unsure about them, as she began to walk the halls, motioning Maggott to follow. No one said anything against roaming, and she wanted to see more of the place.

"I think I'm already calling this place home. But you came from Africa? That's wild! This is my first time out of my home state, but you're from another country. Wow.

"But I think something just happened with the X-men if I'm not mistaken. I read a newspaper article this morning about some sort of crazy business down in Baltimore. Maybe that's why its a bit quiet right now."

[Maggott]

Maggott thought he might have already donnered his chance at the mansion. He had complained about the place after only being there an hour, and while Paige seemed great, she might let that slip. I guess I'll worry about that if it happens.

"I think I'm already calling this place home. But you came from Africa? That's wild!"

"Yeah, Africa. Lions, tigers, and all that jazz. I think the girls might have liked it there a little more, but I'm luvin the States so far. A lad can wear a proper suit here without boiling himself alive, for one."

"This is my first time out of my home state, but you're from another country. Wow."

"What state are you from, luv?"

"Kentucky, the bluegrass state. I cant think of much else worth mentioning about the place. Well, I think I'm actually gonna go settle into my room. I'll catch you later sometime, okay?"
