Candice had rushed to Storm's office as soon as her boss had called her. Apparently another kid had been dropped off, and this one unceremoniously by his mother. Nothing got under her skin like a parent who was willing to just dump their kid on the doorstep of the school like refuse. A child is a child, even if he's a telepath – and liked to just spill the beans on the things he read. At least that's the gist of what she got from Storm over the in-house phone network.
She wondered vaguely if she should try to conceal her thoughts... then wondered why? Did she have secrets?
Yes.
Okay, would she be thinking about them at the time?
Now she probably would.
Hmm... uncomfortable. Well, she'd have to do her best to keep her mind on the job. It wouldn't be that hard... poor kid was probably either scared out of his wits, or completely blown away by all the mutants here.
She was working on the room placement for him when she approached Storm's office, and nodded to Ororo as she and Kurt left for the X-Men meeting. She found Blurt with his bag just behind them, and was briefly introduced by Ororo – who unfortunately had to leave quickly.
“Well hello, you must be Topher.” She said to the bald Asian kid.
