Logan said nothing for virtually the entire trip. Then again, no one did. Storm and Nightcrawler looked just as serious as he did, and Chamber always looked serious. The four of them had known Jean, all of them had a special connection with her in some way... and now... well, now they were going to get to see her again. Maybe. Sort of. It was all very confusing.
They got to DC a few hours later, the European Sedan fittign for the snazzy part of town they were headed to. Storm did some research on her PDA, leading them directly to where this so called Madelyne Pryor lived – notably the same apartment building as Kyle Kennedy – the new would-be hero.
Out of curiosity, she'd played an audio file of Guardian's press release, particularly his “bold” words about the X-Men.
“...I’ve given my personal number to both the police and the FBI. I’ll work with any government organization to better mankind… unlike other so called ‘heroes’, such as the X-Men, who keep themselves anonymous and work at odds to the government. They are vigilantes, and will no doubt continue to disrupt and harm mutant/human relations so long as they exist in the shadows.”
Logan exchanged a glance of irritation with her, and cursed under his breath. The distraction of annoyance with that putz only lasted long a few moments, however, and his mind immediately went back to the real problem at hand.
They turned into the building's parking area, and Logan brought the vehicle to a stop. They sat in silence for a moment, then all got out a the same time.
Few words were needed.

Chamber would have groaned were he able to do so. What a prick. Nothing like more bad PR to heat things up for the XMen.
Getting out of the car, he ran his fingers through his hair and silently followed the others up to the door. Then he spoke to Logan and Storm, repeating himself to communicate the same question to both of them.
Do we have a plan here, or are we just going to knock on her door and wing it.

Kurt sighed and shook his head, listening to the Guardian's angry words. As far as he could tell, the only ones who regularly existed in shadows were Liam and himself... but that didn't help their case much. Perhaps they could meet with the Guardian, explain things...
He stepped out of the car and adjusted his shades, looking up at the nice apartment building. Keeping his tail wrapped around his waist under his long coat, at least until they were inside, he followed the others to the door, keeping watch over his shoulders for anyone who might notice them, but the streets were thankfully empty.
"Perhaps we should buzz up, see if she is home," he thought out loud, turning around to face the street on the bottom step. "The longer we spend out here, the more likely we are to be noticed." He started to wish he'd thought to wear shoes, glancing down at his two-toed feet. "You all may seem normal enough, but I'm a walking announcement."

Logan looked back over his shoulder, to Chamber.
“Don't do plans very well, bub. More of a through the front door type.”
Then back to Nightcrawler.
“You know... that's a good idea. She'd probably let us up, if we said we were the X-Men. Even if she's not our Jeannie, I've got a suspicion she'll let us up just outta curiosity. If not, we'll find another way up.” He looked at Storm, nodding. If nothing else, they could fly to the roof and work their way down.
They walked into the lobby, garnering more than a few stares. Nightcrawler aside, Chamber wore a mask. Logan didn't care... they could stare all they want, so long as it didn't stop him from making his way to Maddy's apartment.
He walked up to the front desk. “Can you ring apartment 222 please?”

Kurt glanced around with a nervous smile, keeping his hands in his pockets. He attempted to roll his feet, but the toe-like protrusions at each heel kept him from walking normally, so instead he fell back into his crouching walk, keeping his hands in his pockets.
His tail tightened around his waist and he glanced around, making sure everyone was keeping their distance, as he heard the front desk pick up the phone and dial.
The man's voice was shaking slightly, and frankly, Kurt could understand why. "Ms. Pryor? There are some..." Kurt glanced over as the man's eyes roamed over them. "... people here to see you."
