Logan stood in the elevator, looking between Nightcrawler and Chamber, actually amused that for once it wasn’t him that pissed everyone off. Though really, he was unsure who did what to piss who off. The only thing he saw from his vantage is Chamber communicating telepathically with Jean and her deciding their conversation was over. She didn’t look that upset about it, really, just annoyed that … well, he didn’t know. He wasn’t in her head like Chamber.
Still, she seemed a little on edge anyway. He considered that maybe she was just annoyed with them coming to her with this information that she clearly thought was coincidence… but…
“Couldn’t have been.” He said out loud, as the glowing floor indicator continued to beep them downward. “Couldn’t have been a coincidence… what are the odds, eh? Looks exactly like her. Has telekinesis. Hangs out with another guy that has a… I dunno, a force-field or something over his clothes.”
He sighed, putting his fingers in his jean pockets.
“I think that she believes she’s not Jean… hell, maybe she’s not. But I think she’s hiding something. I think she’d have kicked us out anyway, before we got too close to discovering the truth… and it doesn’t matter what we did or how courteous we were. No, she didn’t want to know. Never will, I reckon.”
He patted his pocket. “We got some evidence, though. We’ll find out if she’s genetically linked… and if she is, we’ll have to come up with a way to deal with it. She’s dangerous.”
She was always dangerous, to him at least... and whether this was Jean or not, he couldn't help but feel some responisibility towards her. He also couldn't deny that just seeing her stole the breath from him... and now, he was turbulent on the inside in a way he was trying hard not to show on the outside.
