At five to five, Madelyne was sitting in the Gene Pool with a pair of pints, one foot jiggling impatiently under the table as she waited for Kurt to arrive. She'd actually been quite good this time and chosen a shirt that had all of the buttons, and she hadn't made any move to get rid of them just yet. Still, she had five minutes to kill, and as she took a sip of her beer and looked around the bar, she wondered if she'd be able to hold herself back until he came. There were quite a few interesting looking people in the bar, but none quite so appealing as the man she was awaiting. But as she picked at a thread on the hem of her white shirt - over white underwear this time, so it wasn't quite so obvious - Maddie wondered just how long she'd be able to hold herself back and wait for him to realise that he wanted her. Because, in Maddie's mind, it was only a matter of time - but patience had never been her strongest point.
With the characteristic puff of smoke, Kurt appeared outside the bar again, glancing around at the empty streets. They always seemed to be empty when Kurt arrived, and he was fine with that; it kept people from asking too many questions - or screaming. It was always one or the other.
Kurt straightened his clothes out of habit, although this time it was a little more deliberate than before. He'd pulled out some of the extra clothes Xavier had ordered for him, finally settling on a pair of gray slacks (again, modified to suit his particular anatomy with a place for his tail and flared bottoms to cover his feet), one of his white collared shirts, and a navy blue blazer just slightly darker than his own skin. He felt a little strange without his normal coat, but the clothes were comfortable enough, so he strode toward the door of the bar and stepped inside.
It took the briefest moment for his eyes to adjust to the dark, and then he saw Maddie sitting near the couches they had been at last time. Weaving carefully around a rather large man with what looked like tusks, he headed for her, stopping at the table and offering a nod of the head. "Guten Tag, Madelyne. I hope you have not been waiting long."
"No, not at all." She pushed the extra pint toward him, gesturing to the seat opposite. Although she did hope in a way that he'd sit next to her rather than across from her. Her eyes scanned up and down him, taking in his different outfit with a smile. Maddie was in her 'uniform' - white blouse, black skirt, matching stilettos - and it was interesting to note that he was wearing something nice. She wondered whether it had been intentionally done or not. "I hope you didn't drop everything just to come and see me." Actually, that would have been very good for her ego, but you had to observe the pleasantries. "It's lovely to see you again."
Kurt smiled, taking the pint in his hand and glancing at the chairs before choosing on the chair to the side of her rather than across. It was just wide enough that sitting directly across would have to entail leaning forward to hold a normal conversation, and sitting at the side made things easier.
Kurt glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. She was looking traditionally Maddie in her skirt and blouse - which Kurt noticed with a combination of relief and regret still had all its buttons - and he relaxed into his chair, tail snaking out to one side.
Taking a long drink from his pint, he set it down, licking part of the foam from his lips. "Well, I did have to bring you information, so I certainly haven't dropped everything... I've simply postponed the rest of it for a while." He gave her a small smile.
"Ah, fair enough." She couldn't help but smile at Kurt's mixed feelings over her attire. "I can take some of the buttons off if you'd like." She purred into his mind, hiding her smile behind a sip of beer. Her eyes flicked down to his tail, watching it for a moment and wondering if it made things difficult - obviously he had to take it into account when he got clothing, or she supposed furniture, although he didn't seem to be having too much of a problem with the chairs here at the Gene Pool. They did seem to be quite wide and mutation-friendly, though. "I suppose we should get that out of the way, then." He'd said he was hers for the evening, though, and Maddie had every intention of holding him to it.
Over the past few days Kurt had gotten used to people seeing into his head, so the fact that she was reading his mind wasn't surprising, but he could feel the heat rising in his face as she spoke into his mind. As a wise man once said, business before pleasure, he thought to her with a faint smirk on his face.
Reaching into the pocket on the inside of his jacket, he pulled the folded piece of paper out and set it down next to her hand. "This is the information of how to reach Dr. Moira McTaggert on Muir Island. She is our DNA expert. There is also some basic information about what she will need for complete DNA testing, although you may want to get in touch with her before you send her anything."
Scratching his chin, he took another swig of his beer, unconsciously licking the drops off the fur above his upper lip. "She will be able to help you with anything you need to know."
"So there will be pleasure, then?" She gave him an amused smile as she took the piece of paper and slipped it into her purse without bothering to look at it. She could do that anytime - right now, she was much more interested in Kurt than DNA tests and the like. "Yes, yes, I'm sure everything will be fine. I don't expect there'll be any more mix ups." Maddie still didn't believe that the last lot of results were correct, and probably wouldn't even if she had the technology to do the tests herself. There was just no chance, in her mind, that a chance resemblance meant identical DNA - she wasn't a twin, she would have known.
Kurt offered her an innocent smile, crossing his legs nonchalantly. The pleasure of company. What more could we want?
His yellow eyes followed the paper as she placed it in her purse. He was a bit surprised that she didn't even look at the information on the page. Picking up his beer, he took another drink, wiping the drops from his upper lip on the back of his hand. "I trust that Dr. McTaggert will be nothing but professional about her work."
Rolling his glass between his hands, Kurt used his tail to smooth the wrinkles in his slacks anxiously. This is what happens when you do not think any farther ahead, Kurt.
As much as she felt like saying, 'No, this is what happens when you don't think any further ahead' before jumping on him, Maddie just smiled mildly, watching his tail with interest and reaching out to brush it with her fingertips. Well, she was curious about it. Who wouldn't be? It was a tail. "It'll be fine. I'm sure all this confusion will be sorted out quickly enough." Shifting so that she was turned toward him, her legs crossed and a hint of red showing where her toenails snuck out of the peep toe of her shoe, Maddie took another sip of her own beer and licked away the little bit of foam that was left on her top lip with another smile. "So. No plans for this evening, then? I don't suppose I could convince you to take another trip up to the top of the Empire State."

Kurt shivered with surprise as her fingers brushed over his tail unexpectedly, and it curled up off the floor slightly in response, the wide tip lazily looping from side to side.
He took a quick drink and looped his tail up over his leg, moving it out of the way of anyone walking by as he followed her example and turned towards her. As usual her toenails were flashing red in the dim lighting, and he closed his eyes as they began roaming up her crossed leg.
Raising his head back up before opening his eyes, he smiled at her. "There is so much to see. I thought tonight we might go see the Statue of Liberty."
"Oooh, Lady Liberty." She was wearing her usual amused smirk in response to Kurt's closing his eyes, though she'd at least managed to keep herself from leaning over to take a kiss while he had his eyes closed. She couldn't help it. That she wasn't getting what she wanted had Madelyne driven to distraction. "You know, Kurt, I think that sounds like a wonderful idea. As long as the Coast Guard isn't going to take exception to us visiting." She took another sip of her beer, tracing a spiral in the damp spot her glass had left on the table.
Crossing his legs again, Kurt leaned back in his chair, taking another large drink and looking at his half-empty glass. Perhaps I should slow down, he thought to himself, golden eyes focusing on the red-brown liquid before he set the glass back on the table. "Ja, the great Lady herself. I believe it should be an adventure."
"As long as the Coast Guard isn't going to take exception to us visiting."
Kurt looked at her in mock surprise, running one finger over the rim of his glass. "Now, Madelyne, surely between you and I we can make it to Liberty Island and back without being caught. I can get us out of there in the blink of an eye." His eyes narrowed and his mouth turned up in a smirk. "You're not afraid, are you?"
"Kurt, I do believe you're trying to provoke me." She reached out to trace one of the scars on his cheek, admiring the contrast between her red nail and his blue fur for a moment with a smile. Her hand dropped back into her lap and Madelyne leant over to speak purr quietly into his ear. "I'm up for it if you are." No innuendo intended, of course.
Smiling broadly for him, Kurt was raising his glass back to his lips when her finger brushed over his cheek. She'd done that before on the roof of the Empire State Building, and his breath hitched in his throat as his body reacted.
He was setting his beer back down when she leaned forward, her voice rolling across his ear, and the glass slipped from his hand and dropped the last half-inch to the table with a loud crack. Fortunately the thick glass was unharmed, but Kurt felt the blood rushing to his face. Swallowing, he leaned forward and nodded. "The Statue of Liberty it is."
Oh, but that was just too cute. Maddie couldn't help but enjoy that kind of reaction, biting her bottom lip and smiling in response. She could even feel her cheeks going just the slightest bit pink with pleasure, and she did her best to get it under control before she drew away from him and finished her own beer with a long sip. There was still a hint of a smile on her face as she dipped into her purse again and threw a couple of bills onto the table. "Well then, Lady Liberty calls." Standing, she held out her arm for him to take like the gentleman that he was.
Kurt shuffled one foot under the table in embarrassment before he rose, his eyes focused on her teeth as they captured her bottom lip. Picking up his beer, he downed the last third of it (it was a shame to waste good beer, as every German knew) and stepped over to Maddie as she rose.
Looping his arm down through hers, he guided her through the slowly growing crowd in the bar, avoiding the tusked mutant once more, as it looked like he'd had a bit too much already, and led her out the door.
Stepping out into the street, Kurt was glad that he already knew the few jumps they have to take to make it to the shore from where they could jump to Liberty Island. He turned to her and held his arms open. "Are you ready, Madelyne?"
As Kurt led her through the crowd, Maddie paid attention to the thoughts around them, ready to take hold of anyone that came too close and was thinking... unkind thoughts. Thankfully, he steered them away from the one man that seemed interested in a fight, and then they were emerging onto the street. "I do like it when you say that," she smiled, stepping into his arms and sliding her hands under his blazer. "Ready when you are," Maddie purred, her face tilted up to look into his eyes.
Chuckling a bit nervously, Kurt wrapped his arms around the smaller woman and focused unconsciously, his mind automatically picturing their first destination. It had become second nature for Kurt to call up pictures of places he'd seen; it was the teleporting itself that required focus.
Pulling his eyes away from Maddie's, Kurt let them unfocus as his mind adjusted the ever-present doorway around him, and they were gone in a puff of smoke.
Kurt didn't break at their first stop - it was in the middle of the sidewalk in front of a small bakery that carried pastries so much like the ones he'd eaten back in Germany that he found himself longing for home - but instead didn't even bother looking around, making the jump again to a rooftop a mile and a half closer to the shore.
He shook the fuzziness out of his head; teleporting something or someone else always left his mind a little addled for a couple seconds. Releasing Maddie, he stepped back slightly and looked out over the city. "Let me know when you are ready to continue."

Two jumps in such a small period of time left her feeling a little ill, and Maddie took a moment to step away from Kurt and just breathe with one hand held delicately over her mouth. She thought she'd gotten used to it, after so many jumps the other night, but it seemed that the feeling of inertia and the smell of the smoke had come back and yelled 'Surprise!' to her stomach. She swallowed. "I'm sorry, I just need a moment," Madelyne breathed deeply, blinking out at the cool night air, and eventually nodded. She didn't like not having control over everything, didn't like that she couldn't stop herself from feeling the nausea when her blue companion was so obviously fine, but she pushed it down and took the control back, licking her lips as she stepped close to Kurt again. "Yes, I'm ready." She twined her hands around his neck, not bothering to brush her fingers over strands of indigo hair, and simply closing her eyes. "I'm fine."
Kurt swept his tail around behind him, dispersing the smoke. Even those he had teleported with on a regular basis never got used to the sensation. Still, he felt a little embarrassed and guilty as she stepped back, her hand over her mouth. "I am sorry, Madelyne. It will only be a few more."
Sticking his hands in his pockets, he looked out over the city. He felt a little strange in his new clothes - or relatively new. The jacket had been hanging in his closet for months, but he'd never worn it out of his room. It didn't hang like his long coat, and its weight felt foreign on his shoulders.
I am out of my element here, he thought, chewing on his lower lip carefully. I need to be careful.
Turning and wrapping his arms around her waist again, her arms warm against his neck, Kurt focused again, and with a bamf! they were gone.
It was easier this time as they only jumped once, and her stomach didn't react quite so severely. Thankfully. Maddie was still feeling embarrassed about how the first trip had left her, and that Kurt had actually apologised hadn't made things any better. She couldn't pretend it was fine when he apologised. There were times when Madelyne wanted to curse the good men in the world. They were more difficult to predict, more difficult to control... Well, sometimes easier, but it was much less fun that way. Breathing deeply, she never let go of him, never opened her eyes and unwound herself from him. There was no point - she was only going to have to hold onto him again, and every time she touched him... Well, it was easier if she just stayed there. "I'm fine," she whispered, "Let's go." With another bamf! they were gone.
Four teleports with one short break later, Kurt and Maddie appeared in the characteristic smoke on the sidewalk along the bay, his yellow eyes focusing on the tall statue approximately a mile away. Beams of light from its base streamed up, illuminating the giant lady from below with the torch illuminating it from above. Every time he saw it, it filled him with a quiet comfort.
Of course, that was its intent as far as he was concerned, so there was really nothing out of the ordinary. Bracing himself against the breeze coming off the water, he pulled back from Maddie slightly, looking at her closed eyes. "Madelyne... you may want to look at this."
The lights from the city on either side of the bay glinted off the black waves before them, the small bulbs on patrol boats in the water shining through the night. It was a wonderful effect as the various points of light danced with the swirling water. "Remember, this is just the preshow. The view is much better from above."
Green eyes fluttered open, peering up at golden through dark lashes as Madelyne let herself adjust to their new surroundings. "Oh, it's beautiful." She couldn't help but gasp as she took in the sight, her hand coming up to cover her lips again but this time simply as a reflex to hide the almost childlike smile that had appeared. Maddie had seen more of New York these two nights with Kurt than she'd ever seen in the past. For some reason, the darkness and the vantage point gave her a unique view that actually drew her attention - she was actually looking at the city rather than taking for granted that it would always be there. Now this was the kind of place to bring women if you were trying to soften them up, get them feeling more friendly toward you. Maddie filed that away in the back of her mind, just in case she was ever feeling particularly romantic (and like flying around the city - so, in the very unlikely case). "Well then... Let's get onto the real show, shall we?" She stepped back toward him, still smiling, and waited for the final jump. "Even better than the Empire State."
Kurt smiled as she gasped, looking out at the waves. He'd learned early on that most people didn't take the time to actually appreciate the beauty where they were; it took the eyes of an outsider to show them what was sitting before them. And no one fits that term more than you do, he thought with an inwardly wry smile.
Kurt stretched his arms over his head, his back arching slightly. Nothing like someone with a new view to make him feel better. Turning to her as she stepped closer, Kurt wrapped his arms around her waist. "If you insist, Frau Pryor." He brought the image of the torch of the statue firmly to his mind, letting his head tilt to one side almost lazily, and with a moment's focus, there was bamf! and they were gone.
As soon as they appeared, Kurt took a deep breath of the salty air, Maddie's last words registering in his mind. He laughed quietly, his eyes squeezing shut in embarrassment.
"Here we are, Madelyne. The real show." Pulling away again, he motioned to the fully illuminated city across the bay.
"You're right... This is wonderful." He was always pulling away from her, even though they had a perfectly legitimate reason to be standing close. Well, perhaps he was still on guard, even though she'd been behaving herself quite well this evening (at least in comparison to the last time). She sighed a little as she turned to look out at the city. It wasn't so windy up here, and there was something about the smell of the air that she didn't particularly want to shut off with another one of her telekinetic bubbles. Maybe it was just easier to not even try and not have to make excuses for why he denied her. Turning away from him, Maddie walked around the torch, heels clicking on the walkway as she moved. No matter where she looked, there was evidence of people, and she found herself staring down at the water in silence, watching the light play over dark waves and crossing her arms over her breasts in what may have been an attempt to stave off the cold.

Kurt hopped up onto the rail, walking on it like he had on the tightrope years before. The lights dotted the city, and Kurt was reminded again of his awe from his first visit to the top of the statue.
The retreating sound of Maddie's heels brought Kurt back, and he swayed toward the torch, dropping to the catwalk. The retreating sound only went so far before it became the opposite, of course, but Kurt walked around the other way to catch her coming towards him.
His brow furrowed as he moved along the curve, noticing her cross her arms over her chest. She is only in a blouse. Was this a good idea? He was standing before her in a few short strides. "Madelyne, are you cold? I forgot about the wind again."
"No, I'm fine." As tempting as it was to ask him to take her home, Maddie knew that it wouldn't happen the way she wanted it to. So she just shook her head and looked up from the light on the dark waves to the light on his face. God, she was aching for him, and she couldn't be sure if it was just her frustration over not being able to, or something else. "Telekinetic, remember? If the wind was bothering me, I'd do something about it." She didn't sound overly enthusiastic about it, but she unfolded her arms anyway and ran fingers through her hair, watching as the light caught the copper tones and made strands shimmer before her eyes. "Does my appearance bother you, Kurt?" The words came suddenly, before she could stop them. "I cannot help the way I look."
Kurt stuck his hands in his pockets, biting his lower lip carefully. He forgot what people could do, but he should have remembered that with no one else around, Maddie would have done what she wanted if something was bothering her.
His golden eyes followed her hands as they slid through her wind-blown hair, and her words didn't register until a few moments later. As they sunk in, his mouth opened slightly, although no sound came out.
She does what she wants.
Finding his voice, he spoke quietly. "No, Madelyne... your appearance is fine."
She shook her head slightly, in response to his thoughts rather than his words. No I don't. I hide behind a mask every day so that people won't know who I truly am. What I truly am. She didn't bother to say it to him. In some ways, Maddie envied Kurt his appearance. At least he was free, wasn't bound by other people's expectations, wasn't stuck behind a carefully cultivated wall that he didn't know how to tear down. There were very few times where Maddie felt that she could truly be herself - even with Kyle, she was playing a part. Sometimes she didn't even know who she was anymore. Sometimes it was hard to remember which face was the real one. "I can't help but feel... You had a bond with Jean Grey. And now I come along wearing her face." It was the first time she'd ever admitted just how similar she actually was to the other woman. The wind whipped her hair out of her face, and she took a hold of her abilities to freeze the air around them and throw up a telekinetic shield. She almost seemed lit from within as she did it, green eyes glowing golden in an unknowing contrast to the other woman, but the flare of light disappeared once the wall was up. "I'm sorry."
Kurt hadn't considered how lonely looking normal could be. Even though only slight emotion showed on his face as she spoke both in his mind and out loud, his tail dropped, sweeping on the catwalk.
He blinked as she threw up the shield. He could practically feel the power radiating off her for that brief moment, the fur at the nape of his neck rising slightly. Still, it faded and Kurt was left with an impression of lonely melancholy.
Stepping forward, he brushed her hair behind one of her ears. "I know that appearances can be deceiving," he said quietly, looking at her eyes. "And you may look like Jean Grey, but I know you are not." And it was true. Kurt had only seen Jean for a few days at most, so her appearance was less important to him; instead, he had the impression of Jean's personality and consciousness in his mind, and it was entirely different than the impressions he received from Maddie.
Her eyes closed for a moment as he brushed her hair back, and when Maddie opened them again she peered up at him in silence with a slightly odd expression. "Good." The single word was all she said, the smallest smile touching her lips before her eyes shifted away from him and she looked back down at the water. She could still feel where he'd touched her, feel the warmth of him that seemed so out of reach now that she had no excuse to hold him close, smell the scent of him in their little telekinetic bubble. And she wanted him so badly, but as her eyes flicked back to consider him, Madelyne made no move to get him. Because she didn't always do what she wanted, and she didn't always get what she wanted, and though the night was still young, she knew he wasn't going to be hers in the way that she might have wished it. But she didn't make a move to leave, either. It was an almost exquisite torture.
Kurt leaned on the railing, feeling very confused.
Maddie had been extremely well behaved tonight - something for which he was grateful, as it made keeping his head much easier - but she had also revealed more to Kurt than before. His understanding of her was shifting rapidly, and Kurt felt a sort of empathy for her. They both hid frequently, although what she was hiding was much more difficult.
Still, the evening had taken a rather serious turn. Maddie seemed bothered by something, but whether it was her revelation or something else Kurt wasn't sure. His tail snaked curiously behind him and he glanced at the red-haired woman out of the corner of his eye. "Are you all right, Madelyne?"
Her eyes followed his tail as it moved, and for the second time that evening, Maddie reached out to touch it - but stopped short before she did. She was such a tactile person, but not everyone could understand that. Still, Kurt didn't seem particularly put off by it - but instead of reaching out to trace the tip of it the way she wanted to, Madelyne put her hands on the railing and leant over next to him. She abandoned her hold on the telekinetic shields, letting the wind whip at her hair again with renewed vigour. "I'm fine, Kurt. Just lost in my thoughts." She turned to look at him with a small smile, a hint of the smirk that she wore so often. "I'm sorry if I'm not being particularly entertaining. I could always repeat our last evening together... Although I'm not sure I'd be happy if it ended the same way." She had a particularly vivid flash of a thought, red hair draped over indigo, pale flesh against blue fur, red painted fingernails scraping over his back and red lips gasping. Maddie just blinked and tightened her grip on the railing.

Kurt smiled as the shield dropped and the wind blew across his fur. It was a welcome, calming feeling having the cool air brush against him.
"A person's thoughts are a dangerous place to lose oneself," he chuckled, looking at her as she moved next to him. Blissfully unaware of her thoughts, his smile didn't drop as she continued to speak; Kurt was beginning to find their dance rather interesting and slightly amusing, mainly at his own expense. He hadn't had much interaction like this, and it was thrilling even with the stressful element.
"I would be lying if I said I did not find you attractive, Madelyne," he said with a small smile, looking down at the dark water, "but I am afraid I am just not in the habit of bedding women so quickly."
"At least I didn't lose myself in your thoughts," Madelyne pointed out with a growing smile. She wondered for a moment just how those thoughts would change if she shared a little of hers with him. But she'd been doing so well behaving herself. The smile only grew further as Kurt continued to speak. That left things so open for response - 'It's not a habit if you only do it once,' 'Maybe it's time to make some new habits,' 'Who said anything about a bed?' 'Who said anything about it being quick?' ... Instead she just said quietly, "I didn't mean it that way." Though she did want to take him to bed - or not-bed, since her apartment was still mostly unfurnished - Maddie had meant the way things had ended with him leaving to find another woman and her being left irritated and feeling rather rejected.
Kurt laughed, feeling more relaxed than he had all evening. "I am afraid you would have been sorely disappointed. Nothing but sunshine and lollipops up here," he said, tapping his temple.
Yes, it was a lie. He already knew Maddie was aware of that, but at that particular moment his mind was perfectly fine. Mostly.
Turning, he leaned back against the railing, resting his elbows back behind him and letting his head fall back to look up at the black sky with its few stars. That was one thing he missed from his childhood. In Bavaria there was so little ambient outside of the circle of circus tents that you could see every star in the sky.
"I am sorry things are the way they are, Madelyne. It is a complex world we live in."
"Not so complex." She could have rolled her eyes, but instead she just leaned out to look down at the ground. His thoughts about his childhood reminded her of her own, staying in her father's cabin in Alaska - you could see more stars there than she'd ever thought possible. She didn't bother to comment, though - Maddie was beginning to feel rude for the amount that she listened into his thoughts. It was strange. She'd never thought of it as a problem before. But then, she didn't usually spend so much time around other mutants. Kyle hardly counted - he was in television. Settling back onto her heels, Maddie looked down at her hand next to his for a moment, wondering at how two people could appear so drastically different thanks to a single genetic mutation. There was something about the contrast that she liked, though. "Perhaps we should call it a night."
"You do not think so?" he mused, still leaning back to look up at the stars. "Perhaps it is not as complex as I think."
Maybe this whole thing was ridiculous. Ororo was interested in Forge. Why was he feeling the way he did? Could he change it? He'd had little luck with changing his emotions in the past, and he doubted he was going to start having that luck now.
"Perhaps we should call it a night."
Kurt looked at her with mild surprise. It was still early in the time he'd planned for the evening in New York, and he hadn't expected Maddie to want to end it before him. Still, he could tell she was having some sort of difficulty with everything, so he pushed himself forward and held open his arms. "Very well, Madelyne. Let us get you home."
Now there was a sentence she'd been waiting to hear all night. If only he meant it in the right way. Still, Madelyne couldn't help but smile as she stepped into his arms, feeling hair brush her fingers as she slipped her hands around his neck. She had another vivid flash, fingers twining into his hair as blue fur and soft flesh came together, herself gasping over his shoulder, long, pale legs wrapping around his waist as she pulled him down to her... Her eyes closed for just a moment, red lips parting to take in a deep breath. She didn't realise, at first, just what she'd done.
Kurt smiled, already starting to picture their first destination as she moved closer to him, his arms sliding around her lower back. He shivered slightly as her fingers brushed the hair at the nape of his neck...
And then all he could picture were his hands running down her sides, sharp teeth against skin, pale white flushing with heat and passion against dark blue, long legs pulling him tighter against her...
His eyes went wide with surprise and he drew a rasping breath, his body reacting quickly to the images projected through his mind.

Instead of the expected bamf! she heard a rasping breath, and she could feel herself flushing as his body reacted to her touch... Wait. What touch? Not her arms around his neck, no... Her own eyes snapped open in shock as she realised just what had happened, saw what he was seeing, which was... what she'd been seeing. Oh, god. Madelyne's cheeks flushed deep pink, and she stood there, her arms still around his neck, frozen in shock and embarrassment. "I'm... so sorry." That hadn't happened in years, thoughts so strong, so close to the surface, that she hadn't even realised when she'd broadcast them over. Finally, after several long moments, she managed to get herself to say, "Uh..." "Oh, god."
Kurt felt the blood rush to his face as involuntary reactions kicked in, and his tail lashed about in embarrassment and frustration. Biting his lower lip, he tried to pull back, but his body still wasn't responding; instead, his arms seemed to tighten around her.
As she spoke into his head, he blinked in surprise and grimaced as the sharp point of one of his teeth drew a small point of line of blood from his lower lip.
Mein Gott in Himmel...
His thoughts, not quite an echo of those she'd accidentally broadcast over to him, seemed to break the spell, and Maddie finally drew her arms back from where they'd been threatening to pull him closer. The rest of her didn't move as she touched his lip with her thumb, transfixed by the point of blood - the red contrasting with blue in a way that only made her imagination work harder. "Oh, god." Her fingernails started tracing his scars as if of their own accord, running through his silky soft fur, and her eyes were still wide as she moved closer, so that her lips were only moments from touching his. "Kurt. We should... We should..." Pale fingers laced into indigo locks, and Madelyne drew in a shuddering breath that left her, if it was possible, even closer to him than before. "Go." And then she kissed him, pulling him to her almost roughly.
Kurt should have said something. He should have pulled away.
But Kurt wasn't used to psychic backlash. He was still trying to sort out which images came from his own mind as her hands weaved their way over his face. His tongue flicked out, licking the spot where her thumb had brushed the blood away, and a low moaning growl escaped from his throat.
"We should... we should..."
Kurt inhaled sharply as her body pressed firmly against him, and his tail snaked out and wrapped around her leg just below the knee.
What am I doing?
Her hands twined in his curling hair, and he gasped as she pulled his head down to hers, his arms wrapping around her as he returned the kiss fervently.
That he returned the kiss so ardently surprised her, and she moaned against his lips in response - and at the feeling of his tail wrapped around her. Oh, god, the tail - she really did have a thing about the tail, and the feeling of being held in such a full embrace... There were no words. She was caught as if in a spell, filling her senses with him, and she couldn't have drawn away from him even if her mind had been protesting. But it wasn't. Telepathically, she finally fell silent, imaginings of the future abandoned for losing herself in the present.
Kurt slowly began to regain awareness - which wasn't an easy struggle with Maddie pressed so firmly against him. He could feel her fingers in her hair, the curve of her...
His face couldn't grow any warmer, since blood was being directed elsewhere, but if it wasn't he would have blushed as deeply as he could. Well, the curve of her everything.
He had control of his arms, he discovered, when they loosened their hold on her ever so slightly. His head was his to manage, although his lips seemed stuck in place until the kiss ended, and then he pulled his head back to look at her.
His legs refused to move, but they weren't doing anything by themselves at least. His tail wasn't cooperating at all; it even slid higher on her leg, wrapping around her thigh just above her knee and brushing against all the skin it could on the way.
Licking his lips nervously, Kurt gave Maddie a smirk. "Frau Pryor, I believe that is the second time you have tried to seduce me. Is this going to occur regularly?"
A soft sigh escaped her as his tail slid up to her thigh, and Maddie's lips curled into a smile at Kurt's words. "Well, I wasn't planning to, but it's a bit hard..." She glanced down with a smirk, before her eyes returned to his, "To stay focused on behaving sometimes." Though she disentangled herself from his hair, she made no move to draw away from him. They still had to teleport back out of there, after all, and she was so enjoying the feeling of his tail caressing her skin. "Besides... There is nothing wrong with a kiss. Unless your habit of not taking women to bed so quickly extends to something so innocent as well." Maddie smiled, one eyebrow quirking just a little in amusement. There was nothing innocent about the kisses they'd shared, and she well knew it.
Kurt smiled with embarrassment, shrugging slightly. "Well, I am afraid that occasionally it tends to have a mind of its own." He bit his lower lip again as the pointed end slid farther up the inside of her thigh before he could stop it, as though to prove the truth of his statement. Digging his nails into his palms, he forced it back down. "I am sorry."
And yet, are you really? the part of his mind that was controlling his tail smirked.
Ignoring his inner monologue, he looked down at her with a laugh. "Innocent? If that is innocent, I would be interested in knowing what you call guilty."

Her eyes closed for just a moment, teeth scraping over her lower lip as his tail slid back down. "No, no need to apologise." Definitely no need to apologise, unless it was for trying to control certain parts of his anatomy rather than following along with them. It was nice to know that he wasn't entirely perfect, though. "As for my standard of guilty..." Madelyne smiled, the top few buttons of her blouse coming open seemingly on their own, "I'll have to show you sometime. Later." Fingers brushed the hair at the back of his neck as her right hand moved to his shoulder, tracing a pattern on his jacket. "I much prefer the other one."
Slowly unwinding his tail, Kurt gave her a small chuckle, his eyes darting down and back up as the top of her blouse opened. I am sure you do.
Smoothing down her wind-blown hair with one hand, he licked his dry lips and avoided glancing down her blouse again. As much as he enjoyed cleavage, three buttons undone wasn't enough to force him to look. "Be careful with your buttons, Madelyne... many more and you'll get cold," he said with a slightly playful tone.
His tail lashed in frustration behind him. You and I will have a talk after we are done tonight, mein Freund...
Maddie looked visibly disappointed as his tail uncurled from around her, missing the warmth and the sensation of its exploration of her thigh as soon as it was gone. If only he'd follow his instincts rather than his rational mind... Things would be much more fun for her. She still counted the evening a success, though. It might have seemed odd, if there was anyone around that could peer into her mind - and given her telepathic cloak, there were very few of those - for her to think of it as such, but Madelyne counted every moment that he was standing there with her as one more towards his quota of how long he needed to know a woman before he'd take her to bed. If there was one thing to be said for her, it was that she was determined. Her smile was amused. "I could hardly be cold pressed up against you so, Kurt... And you should not be harsh with your tail. It simply knows what it wants and is unafraid to make a move." She patted his cheek gently, her eyes on his lips, before putting her arms back firmly around his neck. "Weren't you taking me home?" Madelyne couldn't keep herself from smirking as she said it.
Kurt smiled as her expression shifted so drastically, and he looked to one side in amusement. "Even being pressed up against me would not save you from the wind should the rest of those buttons come undone, Madelyne, and my tail will just have to learn to behave like the rest of me."
Wrapping his arms around her, one hand at the small of her back and the other between her shoulderblades, Kurt nodded with mock seriousness. "I believe I was when we became... distracted." He countered with his own smirk. "Though I am afraid it will merely be to leave you there."
"You're so mean to me." She laughed, wondering just what he would do if she did undo the rest of her buttons, how well he would be able to behave then. "I am sorry about my... uh, wandering mind. That was unintentional, believe it or not." A hint of pink came back to her cheeks, the only outward sign of her embarrassment. It had been years since she'd lost control of herself that way, and though she didn't regret the consequences... Maddie knew that she would have to be careful that it did not happen again. Unless she got a similarly interesting reaction, of course. She gave him one last smile before she closed her eyes, and after just a few moments they were gone with another bamf!
