On this, the glorious occasion of my one thousandth post, I bring you not only cake but also the following. This took me all of 10 minutes to write, so probably doesn’t scan very well at all, but I bring you….
X-Man Panacea (Dr. Seuss Style)[/u]
At Alcatraz they came out best
The X-Men - better than the rest
The poor old Brotherhood were down and broken
Magneto got a dose of cure
To homo superior no longer pure
“The Brotherhood’s now gone,” it was oft spoken
But from the ashes of the fire
The Brotherhood’s apparent pyre
There came a mutant who could not be thwarted
Who brought the Brotherhood a chance
To reform and have one last dance
And Pyro was the moniker he sported.
At Baltimore they sowed the seeds
And committed pretty nasty deeds
They got back home and Pyro went quite crazy
He wasn’t well, the fiery freak
And tried to burn up poor Mystique
A moment which to him is now quite hazy.
The X-Men got a whole new load
Of members – soon they’ll hit the road
And seek the Brotherhood so they can beat them
But the Brotherhood’s no more alone
They’ve had new members of their own
So bring it on and watch the bad guys eat them!
Yet somewhere in another place
Another spot in time and space
There is someone who looks after poor ol’ Pyro
Who struggles sometimes to succeed
To write the posts that people need
And can’t find any words to rhyme with Pyro.
So maybe there are times I’m slow
But still, I thought you all should known
That writing in this game has been a pleasure
So now I think my poem’s done
This thousandth post has been such fun
Long life Panacea, you ol’ treasure!
