Mystique closed the door to her room and peeled out of her clothing, sitting crosslegged on the floor and dialing a number on her cell phone.
"Update," she spoke in someone else's voice.
The cell phone replayed video events from the news spliced with text reports based on a matrix of variables she'd programmed into the system. It wasn't a unique service by far, but she'd tweaked it to be far more specific.
All will receive their equal share John, this is simply the first stage of the roll-out process, you can't expect everything to happen all at once after all. We fully intend to have the cure available from ALL of our distribution centres within six months.
Mystique shook her head a bit. No self-respecting pharmaceutical company would release something so volatile at one location and then announce that location to the world. It was a trap.
Well, she'd have to see if Pyro caught up on that one. No sense in babying him.
It didn't change her own plans; she could take down a building whether they were watching for mutants or not. It was considerably more difficult without her ability to shift, but that seemed as if it were making it's return. Perhaps not in time though. Extra research was necessary if she wanted to pull this one off.
Standing, she pushed the bed aside a bit and kicked at a floor panel. It popped open, revealing an eye scanner and a small microphone.
She went to her hands and knees. She could impersonate a lot of people. No one, so far as she had ever known, could impersonate her.
"Raven Darkholme." The green light flashed over her eye, and the second panel slid inside.
The laptop. Still connected to the mainframe at Genosha, still charging. She pulled it up onto the floor and shifted to her stomach.
Time to do some homework.
