Mystique stepped quickly back to her room, scooping up her laptop as she dialed the phone.
She was very glad Pyro was open to the idea of the White Queen's aid, and couldn't wait to tell her.
The phone rang a few times before she picked up.
"Emma! Hello. I'm sorry it took me a bit to get back to you, I've been trying to get Pyro caught up on everything..."
She backed out of her bedroom, shutting the door with a foot as she headed into the hallway.

After answering the phone, Emma sat back against her chair as she listened to the silky voice on the other end of the line. "Mmm..." She said in initial response to Mystique's comment of having to catch Pyro up on everything. "Babysitting, are we? Remind me again why he's leading you?" she asked, quirking one eyebrow as a faint smirk played on her lips. She said it jokingly, though her wonder was true. She had nothing against Pyro, she simply doubted anyone would be better-suited to lead The Brotherhood than Mystique. Especially with Magneto's shoes to fill.
"Things are going smoothly, though?" She lazily rubbed one foot along her leg to quell an itch she didn't want to sit up and reach down to scratch. She was sprawled quite comfortably across her bed and had no interest in moving.

"Hush love... I'm building an empire here." Her voice was playful. "Do your best not to deflate him, it took me all day to blow that thing up." She laughed slowly, sidestepping around a corner just to see who was coming in either direction. It was a fluid one-step movement she'd done purely out of habit.
Her hand touched her heart. "I have the disc here. But I'll leave it up to you what contributions you make to the meeting. HAve you settled in?"

"Hush love... I'm building an empire here."
Emma laughed a laugh that was as close to a giggle as Emma Frost got, which stopped only to start again at the inevitable incinuation brought to mind with 'it took me all day to blow that thing up'. She recovered and listened to Mystique continue, pressing the speakerphone button and setting her phone on the pillow beside her. She stretched her arms over her head, to the headboard, arching her back, then bent her arms down, covering her mouth as a yawn took her.
"If by settled in you mean, have I gone through the channels ten times and cleaned out the mini-fridge? Then yes, I'm quite settled," she said, her voice adopting a hint of a pout as she laid a hand on her bare stomach.
She bent her legs, crossing one over the other. "If you don't hurry to meet me, I might lose my girlish figure," she said, a smile curling her lips. Even she--or perhaps she most of all--knew that was unlikely.

"Any more talk of your girlish figure and neither of us will be making it to Baltimore." Mystique smirked, never having lost the habit of coming onto the amazing woman she'd grown to deeply admire in the last five years or so. They'd worked magic together in the business world, Emma holding her own with the best of them.
"Do tell me you're coming to the meeting dressed. As much as I adore you, I'd like them to be paying attention." She smiled, moving into the empty room to set up the laptop.

Musical laughter sounded from Emma's end of the line once more. It was magnificent how well Mystique knew her. "I'm dressed, I'm dressed--" she protested as she pushed herself to sit up, leaning over the phone. Looking down at herself, clad in lacy lingerie (she'd cast off her clothes soon after entering the room), she interrupted herself. "Well, I'll be more dressed for the conference."
It was a good thing in what followed that Emma was trained to think before she spoke, because she very nearly said something to the effect of 'It's only fair, anyway, you're always naked'. Which was no longer true, and hadn't been for some time. But Emma still thought of Mystique as the beautiful blue-skinned woman, and after all, she sounded much the same over the phone.
"Doll, I'll be miles and miles away. You'll be in the room with them. If anyone will be causing a distraction, it'll be you." Over the years, Emma had come to expect--and grown fond of--the playful banter that often laced their conversations. They hadn't spent much time together that they weren't pressed with business and/or limited on time, leaving little opportunity to make good on their words. Not that Emma neccessarily planned to; she truly did not consider herself bisexual. Only in regards to Mystique, there was a certain intrigue to the idea.
"We'll be ravishing. We'll simply ravish them with our plans." Emma laughed again, looking over to the glass on the nightstand which had at one point been full of wine. She wondered for a moment if she was a little...effected by the drink.
"I know you're busy, so I won't keep you. I have the laptop hooked up with the camera and all that, so whenever you're all assembled just yell. Take care."

Mystique chuckled. Something about Emma had always been like a tonic to her nerves. Pyro could key her up, but talking to Emma was a slow crescendo into the sort of sensuality that always twisted itself around their words.
"Sounds like a plan. Give me five minutes, and I'll get us connected."

Emma's eyebrows raised as she picked her phone up from the pillow and ended the call. Five minutes? While she was glad to hear that there would be no more delay, she was hardly presentable. She slid to the edge of the large bed and stood, sharp blue eyes searching the room for her clothes. Finding them on the back of the couch, she took them to the bathroom to get dressed and do any last minute touch-ups on her hair or make-up. Which were of course unneeded, and only done to add to the overall effect, which was, beauty.
(ooc: I just thought of something. Emma is capable of astral travel. She could just pop in. Perhaps they decided to do a TV conference because the astral travel was an unneeded effort? Maybe Emma will decide that it would be much more convenient to appear there anyway...Either way is fine)
