It only took a short walk outside from El Dorado to the Valley of Shadows as he was told the name. Like the first building's lobby, Valley of Shadows had a plaque, describing the trials new mutants would have to endure, their progress depending heavily on strength of will and faith. Adam decided to cross himself before he went any further inside.
The woman who had accompanied him had mentioned that the complex could actually become one single, large room, but for their purposes, the room was segmented into smaller compartments. several mockants could use the fascility and they'd be for the most part undisturbed. Anyone could tell that Erik had spared no expenses in creating this training center. Everything had a modern feel to it, and new technology seemed to be lay just below the surface. Adam was deeply impressed with the man's dedication to his cause.
both the man and woman led the priest to a room. Making sure the door was secure behind them, the two humans sat down on a bench. Adam watched as they pulled out pens and pads of paper. Obviously, they'd be taking notes on his capabilities.
Closing his eyes, Adam started to focus on his mind.

Adam didn't know how much time had passed, but when he came back to his senses, he was huddled in a corner and his face was wet with tears. The two assistants were furiously scribbling notes down, looking up from their notepads every so often to glance at the mockant. Adam was confused, why didnt try at least ty to comfort him, rather than watch and observe?
The expression on his face must have said something because the man responded apologetically, "we tried to help, but you told us you didn't want anyone's attention."
Oh. He didn't remember any of that happening. Was that because of his new powers? Adam tried to think back. The last thing he remembered was feeling like he could do anything, but then was overcome by this blinding terror, and then nothing. Looked like he still needed to work on his control.
The two assistants started to pack up their things. The priest slowly rose to his feet and looked at them expectantly. He heard someone say "Right this way Mr. Fraser," and then he was being escorted out.
Back in the real sunlight, he blinked owlishly. His eyesight slowly adjusted to see the woman smiling at him.
"Come back again tomorrow so we can continue working with you, alright? Have a good day Mr. Fraser."
And off they went back into the El Dorado, no doubt to turn in their reports on him. He had faith that the fascility would only help him and his newfound abilities. He offered up a casual smile at the research center before heading back home for the night.
