So I was thinking about when new people arrive, and aren't really sure what to do or where to start. I was reading through one of our new bios and saw that it really didn't follow with the rules and guidelines set down, and thought that maybe a little joining guide could be a good idea. Or something. So I wrote up what I thought should be included for people who have no idea where to start. If you like it, or think more needs to be added, or whatever, tell me. *flails about* I really need to start getting more sleep. Ah!
Anyway, without further ado, I present... *tries to pull off a curtain with a flourish, gets tangled in it and trips*
Er, the Panacea joining guide.
---------------------------------------------------
So, you'd like to play here at Panacea? Great! Before you start, there are a few very important things to do to ensure that your character will be stamped, and you can start playing, with a minimum of fuss.
Before you even think about writing a bio, please read the following.
History: This is important to know, as we follow a certain story arc and your bio will have to fit within it.
Rules: If you don't like them, and don't think you can play under them, you may want to find another game. Ignorance is not an excuse for rule breaking - we assume that everyone reads and understands the rules unless they ask questions about them.
The characters board and the joining board: to see which characters are already taken, or in the process of being applied for. You should also specifically check the needed and held characters thread to make sure the character you wish to play isn't on hold.
So now that you've got your bearings, and you understand how we do things around here, you'll no doubt want to start on a bio. There are a few things that are handy to know when you start.
Character restrictions and joining form: Read it! Not only do you need to use the form in this thread when you post your bio, but you need to know about the character restrictions when you start writing.
Character groups/affiliations: If you aren't sure which group you want to play with, here's the post to read up about them all.
A note about Wiki: Make sure you read this as it will lead to bannination if you don't follow the words within. This is important.
The most important thing here at Panacea is that we all have fun. If you start off on the right foot, this will be so much easier for everyone. We look forward to seeing a bio from you soon!
