Attention all students, faculty and staff:
Xavier's has long tried to maintain a medium between publicity and privacy, for many reasons, one of the most important of which is to keep our students safe but not cut off from the world. Technology is both a help and a hindrance, particularly the world of messaging - cell phones, IM, email, etc.
And recent publicity notwithstanding, we are not living in a world safe for mutants, neither from humans or from our own kind. As you know, even some of those who we knew have, sadly, turned against us.
Please believe me that is is VERY important that you are careful whom you speak to at this time. That goes for calling, texting, IMing, emailing, paging, EVERYTHING that connects you even to those you know and particularly to those outside of our Institute. Place your trust only in those who have always proven themselves trustworthy. Any information, even that which you consider trivial, could possibly be used against yourself and those you care for. I am sorry to be so blunt, but I feel you must know the seriousness of such a situation.
You have a right to know that all emails here are being monitored. This is for your safety, and I am sorry but it must be done at this time.
If you have any questions or ever wish to talk, visit my office on the first floor. I enjoy seeing you all.
- Ororo Munroe, Headmistress, Xavier's Institute for Higher Learning
